Just wanted to add to the well-deserved notes of thanks you are receiving during the school closure. My son was thrilled to participate in your on-line classes. Equally as excited to see Master Amy and his classmates! This was such a welcome piece of normalcy in an otherwise very abnormal week. Thank you for providing that. Your note regarding the payment considerations was incredibly kind and heartwarming. We are happy to be a part of this community.

Two of our kids have been in the program for 8 years and a third wanted to join as soon as he was old enough (age 5). They had so much fun my wife and I joined too! It has been great for fitness, flexibility, agility, strength and fun. It has helped prepare us for other activities like hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, & given everyone confidence.

I write to first offer my deepest thanks to you all for the terrific work youre all doing. Its just so wonderful to see how well you all engage with the children and young people in your care. I know it means a lot to our son--and it certainly does to me and wife as well. Thank you all so much. He really enjoys Taekwondo, and that is no small credit to your teaching, training, and care for him and all the students.

This is an amazing team of people!The principals they teach the kids starting with respect for their parents and peers. The importance of how they should be treated and treat others .The skills and Taekwondo training is tailored to each child’s age and ability.My son looks forward to his Taekwondo Classes each week. Thank you so very much for providing the online classes! It’s been quite a transition to navigate with young children and having some normalcy has helped tremendously. My son is in his third year of training at Modern Taekwondo and we could not imagine a better experience. The instructors are intelligent, skilled, thoughtful and have a remarkable ability to address each student individually. Its been very rewarding for my son to grow mentally, physically and emotionally with Master Gomes and his team.

Our two older sons, ages 8 and 6, have been attending Modern Taekwondo Center for four years. It has been one of the most enjoyable moments for them and us. They have grown emotionally, socially and physically because of it. We cant wait for our other kids to join in a few years.

I can’t say enough about Modern and how much they’ve helped my son. We’ve seen noticeable changes in his confidence, mood, stamina, sensory regulation, and so much more. And we’re truly impressed how they’ve risen to the occasion of online learning through the Covid crisis. Modern Taekwondo Center has done wonders for our 8-year old son. He started when he was 6 1/2 years old. He knew nothing about martial arts and now is constantly doing his forms whether hes at home, at the grocery store or outside playing. It keeps him focused and channels his endless amount of energy. He is self-confident and extremely agile which we credit with the martial arts program and his amazing teachers. They do more than just teach the kids forms and kicks, however. They also teach them integrity, perseverance and respect. It is weaved into the program and the kids are learning these executive skills without even knowing it. MTC was quick to go online with classes during the pandemic lockdown and our son has maintained his skills and enthusiasm throughout the whole quarantine. Hats off to the whole MTC staff for being so professional, forward-thinking and fast-acting!!!

3 of my children take classes here and while it is the only Taekwondo center we have tried so far, we have been more than satisfied so we havent had to look around to any others. The attention to each student is wonderful and the instructors are both knowledgeable and fun. There is a good balance here of learning but enjoying as well as working together with others. The checklists the students are encouraged to keep work well in teaching the kids to use the tenets of taekwondo outside of class. Like the friendly community here too.

My son has been attending classes at Modern Taekwondo Center for almost two years and will soon move up to the Youth class. It has been a wonderful experience for my son in so many ways from building friendships to helping build self confidence. He has learned many valuable life lessons including how to deal with conflicts in a calm way, perseverance, self discipline, improving his patience and giving him more self control. We love Modern Taekwondo and I would recommend it highly.

This place is awesome! The instructors are warm and friendly. This program has been extremely beneficial to the kids. They are gaining more confidence and self discipline. :)

My son has been a student at Modern for the last six or seven years, weve lost track. We travel quite a distance to get there twice each week because it is worth it a thousand times over. The instructors are supportive yet constantly challenging the children. My son finds taekwondo to be a great outlet for excess energy and stress. Not only do the instructors focus on Taekwondo skills they also teach life skills such as dealing with conflict, not escalating situations, setting goals, managing stress and overcoming challenges. I recommend this school without reservation.

Master Gomes, Master Chris &Ms. Amy are dedicated, patient and great role models. Our son has been at the program for almost five years and has grown more independent and confident. He has made nice friends and loves going to class!

Modern Taekwondo has been a positive experience for both of my sons, a 1st grader and my 4th grader who is training for his junior black belt. If you are looking for a place that places as much importance on respect, hard work and being a positive person as they do on the athleticism of the martial art, then dont look any further. I am so happy we took this journey with MTC.

My two boys have been part of the MTC community for 5+ years now. I say community, because thats what it is, a community. The instructors really take the time to get to know each student. They help nuture them as individuals working toward a common goal. All the while fostering an environment rich in empowerment and inclusion.

I brought my child here with confidence that this will change his post-depression. Although, I came out realizing that he was weeping. The teacher was yelling at him, and it was so embarrassing for him. The students were laughing at him including this kid, Ethan Ngo, who was the main bully. I am never coming to Taekwondo center nor should you

MTC is a positive light in the Dorchester community. Master Gomes, Master Chris, and Ms. Amy train the students on physical and emotional levels. They give each student the confidence to believe in themselves and the skills they need to succeed in life via Taekwondo . My son is entering his 10th year of training and still displays the same passion for Taekwondo now as he did 10 years ago, which is wonderful testimony towards the instructors.

Modern Taekwondo is the best! My daughter did taekwondo for 3 years at another school but we switched her to Modern because of the positive, nurturing and fun environment. She met with Master Gomes and said that he was very encouraging and she wanted to start this new taekwondo school immediately. We are very pleased with how professional and compassionate all the teachers are and how they create a positive, team building environment for all the kids. Its all about the kids and helping them grow, be strong and kind while learning taekwondo.

My 11 year old daughter started at MTC last Fall. Not only has MTC built her confidence but it has helped with discipline and behavior at home. Master Gomes has a way of being firm and fun at the same time. My daughter responds to him like I have never seen her do before. She loves Taekwondo! I highly recommend MTC!!!!
