Located in the heart of Boston, Musician Playground is the best studio to grow as a musician. As a recent college graduate who has always had a passion for music, this organization offers the support, direction, and guidance to achieve one’s goals. Some key features of the studio include practice rooms, a self-serve kitchen, rental space, and much more. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and talented as well. They provide their students with the confidence and skill to improve their musicianship. Currently, I am taking piano lessons which have been a wonderful experience. I believe I have finally found my community.

I have been attending the Battle of the Bands classes at Musicians Playground, and I leave with a smile on my face every time. The whole team is so kind and they make it such a fun experience. I get one on one help on piano while also getting to play in small groups and a larger group with singers and guitarists. Alyssa and the entire team at Musicians Playground are so kind and welcoming, and I have a blast when I come to Musicians Playground. I would recommend MP to anyone who wants to take the next step, or the first step, in their musical journey. Look no further, this is the place!

The service there was great, I had a fun time using the space and not only is it a great space, but the staff there was very nice and accommodating, I would recommend connecting to Musicians Playground to anyone who wants a photo/video shoot.

Ive had the pleasure of photographing several events at Musicians Playground, and every time I enter the space I am greeted by warm welcomes and music. The energy there is contagious, and I highly recommend MP for hosting events and music lessons. By far one of may favorite places to shoot because of the quality of the people and the space.

First off, the booking process and the professionalism of Alyssa and her assistant Will are unmatched! I am a photographer and I have booked at a number of places, but this was by far the best space I’ve been to and the service was impeccable! I was able to do a great lifestyle photoshoot, and there was so many places to be creative. I appreciated the different elements of the space. I definitely plan to have my clients book here for the future. If you are a photographer looking for a space to have your next photoshoot, I would look no further, you will have everything you need here! Also, Will was the absolute best!! He was always available to help and checked to see if we need anything , he was so helpful! Overall it was such a great experience and I highly recommend it!

I came to Boston for 1 month and decided to try out music lessons here. I had never taken any music lessons so I was a little hesitant but MP really has something for people of all skill levels. The value I got from unlimited group classes and 4 private lessons in that month was insane. Everytime I went in I walked away with some new understanding of my voice or piano playing. I did private vocal lessons with Kelsey who was always very encouraging . I sent some videos of our private lessons to other friends who had taken vocal classes and they were in awe of how supportive and kind she was. Most importantly, all of my sessions with Kelsey felt collaborative and helped build my confidence/abilities. Im glad I could start my journey in vocal training with her. I wish I could take Musicians Playground with me wherever I travelled. I will continue virtually :). Make sure to take advantage of the band sessions if you are local . Im grateful for all of the wonderful instructors who helped me experience my first taste of music instruction. Really grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this community. Thank you!

I started taking classes at Musicians Playground about a year ago - and I have loved every moment of it. I wanted to learn Piano and was looking for adult classes and a friend on mine suggested Musicians Playground. From the beginning everyone was super friendly and welcoming - from all the instructors to all their clients, and everyone is really helping each other succeed. I have been taking private lesson with Daniel as well and I can really see the difference from when I started to now. Every week I look forward to attending the classes as it really helps we unwind. Even during these trying times, they have seamlessly transitioned to online classes to continue teaching. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn an instrument or take voice classes.

Rented this space for a Photoshoot and the entire experience and service from the staff was wonderful, from start to finish! Alyssa and Will were amazing and the space is beautiful.

Everyone at Musicians Playground, teachers and fellow students alike, has done an amazing job with encouraging me to explore other instruments and being flexible with my schedule. The studio owner, Alyssa, and manager Madison have been incredibly receptive of feedback and they are genuinely, personally invested in my having a good experience there. Ive learned how to play guitar with private lessons, Ive jammed on the piano in group classes, Ive made friends and seen amazing performances during happy hour. Ive enjoyed every second spent here, and have since referred several people to join MP.

It’s been a few months since I’ve joined for private the group vocal lessons and I’m really enjoying myself here. The community aspect is something you don’t usually see much of in other music schools so it really stands out in this regard. Otherwise the teachers know their stuff so no complaints there :)

I was a volunteer at Musicians Playground and I absolutely loved it! The amount of enthusiasm all the teachers and volunteers have for the place is astounding! Everyone is working hard and smiling in the process. I recently started taking the online classes and they are so much fun! The teachers foster a warm and supportive environment which has helped me to grow musically and personally. It feels great to take this time, not only to improve my musical skills, but also to be part of this wonderful virtual community.

Beautiful space & beautiful community. I wanted to have a passion project outside of just work and decided to try piano lessons at musicians playground since it was near my office. I ended up going to Daniels class on Saturdays and it was always a highlight of my weekend! Its a great collaborative environment, free to ask questions and not stuffy like I imagine other music places to be. Alyssa is so sweet and so helpful with any questions you have or trying to accommodate to your needs. Highly recommend!

This review comes well overdue. My time at this place was an eye opening experience into what I could achieve on a musician level and the friendships that were created. Its amazing how music can bring people together in a space that fosters that love for music and creates something bigger. MP wasnt just a place to learn, but a place to grow. Its more than a group of people, its a tribe. Alyssa & Madison are amazing teachers and amazing people and they really take the time to look for other amazing teachers that reflect that, so youre in good hands. Ive been taking lessons from Musicians Playground for two years. I have had a really positive experience. The happy hours are really fun and provide a great opportunity to share the pieces that Ive been learning. I also love the flexibility to schedule lessons that fit into my schedule. My daughters voice lesson teacher is a wonderful person and instructor!!! Her voice and performance has improved tremendously. I always enjoy attending the recitals. They are spectacular. Alyssa is as good as them come and her team backs her up nicely. Ive witnessed her teach first-timers how to play a small part of a song on the piano in less than 15 minutes during their HANDS series. Every time I attend a recital or group event at her studio, its all smiles with tons of positive energy. You can tell every student really enjoys learning in that environment.

As a guitar instructor at Musicians Playground, I can safely say that it is the dream work environment for a music educator! We receive continuous training and are constantly evaluating and updating our methods and services to suit the needs of both the teachers and the clients. Really an awesome time over all!

I took lessons during two years at the Musician Playground. My piano teacher (Matt) was a blessing. I had to move out from Boston, and I will have a hard time finding his equal. The new studio is stunning: they investing in top-notch pianos. Moreover, Alyssa (the founder) is tireless and always happy to help you.

Coming to college after high school, I knew I wanted to continue studying music in some capacity. I’m so glad that I found Musician’s playground, as it allowed me to still pursue what I love in a stress-free environment. I take guitar with Chris, voice with Madison and piano group classes with Daniel. All of the teachers are really different, but are great in helping me accomplish my goals, while having fun (which for me was the important part). I’m so glad that I found Musicians playground as an outlet.

I started at Musicians Playground about a month ago. Right from the consultation session up until now, Im extremely happy with them. Every staff member here is genuinely vested in your progress and thats what I love about this place. The space is bright and wonderful with a very calming vibe. They even offer coffee, tea and fruits. Alyssa helped me plan my program including suggestions to when I should to consider the next level classes. Ive been going to Musicians Playground for about 6 months now and couldnt be happier with my experience. The studio itself is such an amazing space with plenty of equipment. The membership offerings are super flexible and allow you to try out different instruments as well as participate in group classes. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly; its always a good feeling walking into the studio after a long day at the office. Ive been taking private lessons with Shane every week, which has been amazing. His teaching style is great because every lesson is a mix of jamming, sight reading, practicing a favorite tune, music theory, or learning cool techniques. He is extremely passionate about his craft and its contagious! Highly recommend 10/10

I wholeheartedly recommend Musicians Playground. I am admittedly not a student at the studio, but it is the first place in Boston I would consider taking lessons. I have attended a couple of the concerts, and I always leave feeling lighthearted and inspired by the passion of the students and teachers. Absolutely love this place, the whole team is incredibly knowledgeable, make very clear lesson plans & goals, and have set up a great community!After nearly 8 years of not having music as a part of my life, MP has been the catalyst to bringing it back into my daily routine!

The founder is directly involved in the day to day operations, and also teaches classes. I think that is something worth noting. This is a place where your progress and development is important. The space is conducive to learning, both physically (open clean spaces that allow you to concentrate) and emotionally (your peers are as supportive as the instructors).I think the group instruction is invaluable, and to me, it is the main allure to Musicians Playground. It provides a challenge that just doesnt exist through private instruction (they do also offer private classes if that is what you want).This place is unique and there is nothing like it anywhere in Boston. It is not just a place to take music classes, it is a place where you will be sorrounded by like-minded individuals who genuinely care where your musical exploration takes you.tldr: group classes are awesome (and super affordable!), the space is welcoming, and the people are great.

I took group lessons and private lessons. They are great! My private class teacher Daniel Nerger is very nice, smart, responsible, patient and effective and funny and even helped me find my girlfriend! Will go to Musicians Playground as long as I’m in Boston.

Our 3 year old son started taking lessons at Musicians Playground last fall. Right from the start of his initial evaluation with Alyssa, the director, I could tell that Alyssas system and props (rhythm sticks, hula hoops, etc.) were going to make this a fun experience. We are now 4 months in to lessons with Lauren, and both teacher and student are incredibly enthusiastic every lesson. Our son has the same enthusiasm when he plays at home, and has made great strides in his first 4 months, confidently playing 4-8 measure songs and starting to read music. He is super happy to be taking lessons with Lauren!

I’ve been taking lessons at Musicians playground for 6 months and I absolutely love it! Alyssa and Matt are seriously the nicest people - I always leave my lessons with the biggest smile on my face! I took piano lessons when I was younger, but stopped when I went to college. I never thought I would start again but my mom found Musicians Playground and scheduled my first lesson for me - I’ve been taking lessons ever since! Whenever I go people of all ages are coming in for lessons or to practice. One thing that was really helpful for me getting back into piano was being able to practice on the pianos at Musicians Playground whenever I wanted! And every few months there is an Adult Happy Hour - kind of like recital but more relaxed and fun! I cannot recommend Musicians Playground highly enough!

Natalie DI never played a piano in my life and I found musicians playground.I know all the keys on the piano. Now after a few weeks am playing a little music I am about to play for the first at my wedding and Alyssa will be there to see it done. I’ve been a member since 2017 and as a young professional I can’t think of any other place that provides me with so much happiness, growth and balance in my personal life. From super talented teachers, happy hours, events and state of the art instruments, Musicians Playground has been the place where I’ve found the most incredible community in Boston, which im so grateful to be part of.

Ive been taking lessons at Musicians Playground for about a month now, after a long hiatus from playing piano when I was younger. The owner, Alyssa, was wonderful to work with in setting up my lessons and making sure I had the right type of lesson plan for my music goals. My instructor, Susanna, has been excellent. She recognizes my strengths and weaknesses with the piano so that Im getting the most out of my lessons and I already feel like Im progressing with her after one month! I would definitely recommend Musicians Playground for all your piano lesson needs, they know what they are doing and make it fun to play piano. It doesnt hurt either that theyve got a great studio space and a beautiful baby grand to play during lessons.

Being a student at MP is such a bless. Music and singing is an amazing therapy from the hectic school routine!!! And I LOVE MADISON !! She helps me explore my vocal range, and push me to find the right spot.. she is an awesome instructorand vocalist!!

I have been taking my 3-year-old for classes at Musicians Playground since fall. First - music and movement and now a few private lessons to get ready for a Little Fingers group class where she will be the youngest. Alyssa is fantastic with her and little kids in general. She is positive, engaging and encouraging at every step. My daughter cant stop talking about Miss Alyssa between classes and is often singing the tunes between classes. We are so happy we discovered MP.

Learning an instrument for the first time is super intimidating. But Musicians program strikes the perfect balance between making music both challenging and fun in low-stress, high improvement environment. It is the best investment you can make if you want to pick up an instrument, because if you pay for private lessons you also have access to their awesome facility and group classes.I started with MP 4 months ago and have already seen tremendous improvements. I went from not knowing a thing about piano to being comfortable to play in any environment.What is best about this program is that for college students like me who are super busy the commitment is very manageable and I still feel like I am perpetually improving every week. I grew up playing the piano from a very young age and then discontinued my practice - it has been almost 5 years since I have even seen a piano, and now that I decided to pick it up again, Musicians Playground has provided the best environment and team as a support system in this journey.My instructor, Daniel Nerger, is patient and very knowledgeable in the field - also knows how to make the lessons fun and more like a relax/leisure activity! I first came across Musicians Playground through another friend who took her lessons there as well.It is a great way for me to pursue an old passion - you can make your own schedule since there are many instructors that may be willing to work out a schedule that will work best for you. Many other classes as well and events going on all the time to enjoy! The studio is open for those who are part of the community to go in and practice! As an adult who took piano lessons as a child, I was excited to get back to learning music. I searched high and low for an adult friendly place to learn music. It was great to find Musicians Playground because there are so many other adults besides myself learning music later in life! I decided to leave piano behind (sorry Alyssa) and take both guitar with Jaime and voice with Jo. They are very supportive and leave me feeling inspired every week. If youre hoping to get back to making music, you should definitely try this place!!

Musicians playground is a warm, friendly, positive environment. The staff are extremely welcoming and it is always a good time. They go above and beyond to help in my development as an artist. Before I began attending, I was unsure of who I was as a singer. I knew there had to be more to my voice but I could not find it. I now understand how to directly apply the techniques learned to my performances. Since attending Musicians Playground I have a better sense of who I am as a singer and I have fallen deeper in love with singing.

Discovering Musicians Playground has dramatically improved my quality of life! I started piano lessons with Daniel Nerger just a few weeks ago and I’m already playing (with both hands at the same time!) pretty well, if I do say so myself! The space is gorgeous and inviting and it’s the perfect place to make a cup of tea, plunk down at a piano and unwind after a stressful week at work. Daniel is very patient and fun to work with but he also knows when to push me and how to make something “click” for me mentally. Definitely the best place to learn music in Boston. I had played piano and sang in a choir in my childhood, but hadnt learned music in any formal way for more than a decade. I had sampled a few private lessons here and there over the last 10 years, but always found them expensive, stressful, and unsustainable. Musicians Playground has been such an amazing place to learn music and in just the 1.5 months since I started taking group piano and voice classes with Alyssa and Madison, Ive improved my skills so much! The classes are fun, collaborative, and comfortable - no matter what level you are in the class, Alyssa always finds a way to help you focus on an individual way for you to improve. Such an awesome place to learn to play piano. I came in with almost zero experience, and I have learned so much so far. The staff make me feel at home when I am there and they are extremely accommodating. I love showing up for every practice and also to the special events as well! I rented a place for a few hours in November 2017 for my friend to practice. Several months later I needed to do it again. The first question they asked: How was the Berklee audition?. They remember?! I am absolutely sure its because they pay very close attention and help you with everything you need.

Joined musicians playground 3-4 months ago and love the studio. Alyssa and Su Young are fantastic. Su Young taught me how to play a song on the piano in one month when I knew nothing before hand with zero music experience. Our son (6.5 years) have been taking piano lessons for the last 6 months from Matt. Matt does an amazing job in teaching our son. He is very patient and encourages our son in multiple ways. My son willingly practices piano at home because he loves his weekly music classes! During last years recital I got the opportunity to see kids of all different ages and levels perform and we are really happy that my son undertaking his musical journey with Musicians playground!
