This place was amazing! Not only were they super fast but after being completely stressed out with every other Drive testing facility being booked out till November, I couldnt of been happier when I saw Driving Institute was able to get me in that next day! They gave me super helpful feedback at the end of my driving test, which i really loved. I would reccomend this place to all of my friends and family. Thank you guys again!

I took 4 lessons with Joshua. I had never driven before. Josh was very thorough, observant and patient. He took me through a variety of routes and practical situations. Gave good, pointed notes after each lesson. He also ensured he instilled confidence in me through each lesson. Had a great experience, highly recommend!

This place is running a racket, do not use them under any circumstance!!! The cars this company uses for the drivers test does not have cameras, so the instructor can lie about what you did/did not do, fail you, and you have no recourse other than paying for another test. The DMV does not offer test right now because of COVID-19, so this company is taking advantage of people incessantly. I saw three of the 4 people who took the test fail and when I told the instructor that I had never heard of anyone ever failing this test, he told me “the DMV has a 50/50 pass/fail rate.” The fact that he knew that statistic tells me the company stays on that pass/fail rate percentage in order to drive their own profits, irrespective of what you actually do. The course is also set up for failure, as there are multiple blind turns, a “roundabout” that is not in regulation with CDOT, and numerous other obstacles that results in minor infractions. In my case, however, the instructor said I was speeding, which was a lie. After filing a Complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the company responded with the most unprofessional, laughable response I could ever imagine a company saying, which is telling of there scam and lack of integrity.

I was very happy with Colorado Driving Institute. They were very professional and accommodating. I was able to get an appointment in a timely manner. They were able to give me my driving test the next day that I inquired about one. Ed was my driving tester and he was professional yet very personable. He will give you a fair critique and instruct you on what improvements you should make. Whether you need driving instruction or just an test for your license, this is the place I would recommend to any of my friends and family.

I utilized the CDI for my State of Colorado driving road test. They are conveniently located across the hall from the DMV license office. My tester/instructor was very patient and friendly. He gave me very useful and professional feedback on my performance (I passed). As an older individual, I have acquired many bad habits in driving. Although not bad enough to fail me, they could cause problems, so the feedback was very welcome!

Great experience! Went in for a drivers test and entire process was efficient. Ed is also really great and nice! I wanted to get my license that day and he personally walked over to the DMV and got me a walk-in appointment (the DMV does not do walk-ins currently and there are no appointments available for many weeks).

I think this place wants your money only. I am an international, and I have been driving for more than 6years inside and outside the U.S , never had an accident in the U.S neither a fine, however, the instructor was having a bad day because he was complaining about every single tiny things that even auto cruise would not do it. Don’t waste your money on this place to. Maybe because I am not a citizen so they decided to take my money.

Driving Evaluator Ed was very helpful with instruction on a vehicle and equipment I was unfamiliar with. He offered constructive criticism and information understanding I hadnt driven in 23 years. My only complaint or suggestion is that the phone communication situation is abysmal. Every call put on hold and I waited 5, then 7 and finally 9 minutes before giving up entirely on trying to call. At least get a way to take messages and then employ someone who takes their job and customer communication seriously. Thanks again to Ed.

I took a 2 hour evaluation with Josh and a Drivers test with Ed after. Both Josh and Ed are super nice!!! The evaluation was really helpful and I passed my test as a result! Kudos to both of them :-)

My instructor (Josh?) was very personable and the driving test was not unnecessarily stressful. His instructions were clear and concise. His feedback was communicated in a friendly but constructive manner, and I believe I am a better driver as a result of his pointers. The driving school had my results uploaded to the DMV in a matter of minutes, and I was able to complete the entire process (drive test and DMV) in just over one hour total. I highly recommend.

My son got his drivers permit as an adult, so there are no mandated classes or wait time between permitting and licensing . I scheduled him for a 2 hour brush up lesson after I had taught him everything I could think of, so that a professional could evaluate him and tell him the things he needed to work on. It was also easy to schedule the state driver test with them, and the Boulder DMV is just across the hallway - so one-stop shopping. Overall, a very good experience and worthwhile investment.

I needed to take a driving test to renew a CO license. The DMV was very efficient and sent me over to the Colorado Driving Institute. Ed took me on my test drive and after passing, I was able to request my new license online all in the same day. The whole experience was just lovely.

My daughter took her driving test with them and the instructor was great. This is the second time our kids have done their test here and we won’t go anywhere else for our 3rd child. They put the person taking the test at ease and make them more confident in their own ability.

I’m a new driver and had my lessons at CDI. It was a very valuable experience. My teacher was Joshua and he is a very friendly person who makes you feel comfortable behind the wheels. As an instructor he makes sure you know every detail when driving in different situations. My experience was simply awesome!

He had valid points and tips to share and helped me to prepare for the test. Being a teenager, this was very reassuring and gave me a confidence booster. It had been a while since I had taking a driving course and as frustrated as I was as an adult to take it.I am glad I did. A refresher for more would not be a bad thing.I relearned two new things today and that is a great day.This was both time and money well spent.

Drivers test went fine but I never got my email showing i passed and was licensed and when I got on my digital ID it showed I was on my permit so Im petty sure my results never actually got out into the DMV. Hopefully I can get a response to get it done before the weekend or if I pulled over..

The customer service was incredible and I was able to schedule an appointment and test all within 3 hours which is quite convenient. It may be a bit pricey but I would highly recommend!

My friend told me he normally failed you once for 35 extra dollars. I failed for the first time I didt complain about that. But for the second time, the reason he failed me was so annoying.The examiner asked me to turn right before a cross. It was red light for going straight so normally I needed to stop for a while before turning. After like 3 seconds, without seeing a car coming from the left side, I tried to turn right and move slowly. After I move forward a little bit, from the left side one car show up. I saw it and then ready to push the brake. The examiner push the brake suddenly and he thought I would turn right under that condition but I am not!! He said he would not take that risk but there was no risk at that time. I saw that car too and I was ready to push brake too and Id like to push the brake gently. I would change a place to take the exam and I believe I will pass with my skill

Hi , I would prefer other schools for driving test in the Boulder area, I felt like they were unfair and failed my test (Not recommended by me).

I took my road test for the license during covid time and they had set up good measures to keep the car and process clean and safe. The drive test was good and the people were overall very nice.

I had my exam taken by Ed. The exam went smoothly and Ed was very friendly. He addressed points of improvement too. Everything was on time and Id definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Went in for a motorcycle driving test. Theyre a little more expensive than the other places, but they also had much more availability, and helped me to reschedule twice with no charges or fees. They always sent out confirmations and reminders, and they were very professional and easy-going, making it really easy to do the test. Awesome people!

Proctor did not make me feel nervous. Good price, vehicle provided. However the vehicle is a Nissan leaf which has a terrible shifter, and does not accomplished big drivers well.

During my drivers exam, the examinator took off his mask to eat, the second time when doing a retake test he took his mask off again to drink. This is in my opinion not acceptable as we are not 6 feet apart and in a small space. Please eat and drink during your break.

Got done with everything, including getting my license and doing the driving test, in only 1 HOUR! Worth it.

During COVID-19 situation, I took 2hr practical class lesson. Therefore, I did my field test five times through CDI, and failed every time. Then, I changed this institution, participated from another driving school, and I passed. Actually, CDI dont want to give you pass mark. If you fail more and more they will get more money. It is their policy. So, be careful about CDI!

Had a great experience during my driving test here at Colorado driving institute.Edd- My instructor did a great job making me feel comfortable about the driving test and helped me go through the entire process.

Today was mine first time driving a car and the instructor was teaching me and we got in an accident and as of mine first day as a driver that wasnt mine fault he should be the controller not me but the instructor was like hey you dont have aptitude to drive and you shouldnt drive bla bla bla. If he is a real instructor he should be a good teacher and encourage his students rather discouraging them.

So thankful this place is smooth operating and fair, after going through much tribulation with the Denver DMV it was SO refreshing to have exceptional fair testing experience. The man who rode with me was very honest and only wanted for people to understand the importance of safety on the road! I would highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to avoid the headache elsewhere just expect to pay a good amount for your license.

Ed Overfield was an excellent teacher for my nephew, who of course thought he was perfect but actually was just pretty good. Ed was able to point out some tweaks to make him a better driver and my nephew Ended up doing the best in his examination class.

Andre did a wonderful job with my daughter. He was supportive and kind. After the highway driving was over he told me what she needed to work on in ordering to pass her drivers test; what they look for. Signing up online was also easy.

I have been trying to learn to drive as a young adult with parents who were unavailable to teach me, after many attempts with family and friends, I decided the best course of action was to get lessons from CDI. I signed up with Ed, who was super down to earth, responsive, and kind in his review of my driving skills. I was able to pass the test after just one lesson. I am going to continue to take more lessons to brush up on my driving skills, and I am confident I will be an excellent driver after I complete them. I highly recommend that you take courses here if you are a young adult who requires more independence and are having a hard time learning to drive. Just had to take motorcycle test but they were organized and professional and on time.

Both of my kids have taken a 2-hour brush up lesson with Ed towards the end of the year they held their permits, and both of them also took their drivers exam during that 2 hour lesson. One passed the first time; one needed some more work and came back to repeat the test a month later. Ed was kind and communicative with both of them about what skills they still need to work on. I highly recommend this place!

I highly recommend Colorado driving Institute! My oldest daughter went through the online drivers education for her permit, then all of her behind the wheel training and lastly her driving test with Ed. They worked with us to accommodate our schedule and were very professional. Now my youngest will be getting her permit and also training through them!

The visit was quick and they were able to take my drop-in appointment for a drivers test within 45 minutes. The instructor, Ed, was friendly and talkative. Those getting tested should be familiar with the responsiveness of electric cars (i.e. brakes and accelerator are a little quicker to respond) as they will be tested in a Nissan Leaf. Also, be sure to look carefully for stop signs in places where something may be obstructing them. Overall great experience.

I did both my drivers ed and one instructed driving session and while the instructed driving wasn’t bad the drivers ed was a bit more of a mess. During the drivers ed one kid lit a piece of paper on fire and the instructor didn’t even notice. The drivers ed also failed to mention that one needed six hours of instructed driving and when I confronted them about not having mention the six hours they had the gall to tell me I wasn’t paying attention. I still have throurgh notes detailing nearly every thing he said.

I had a positive experience with this driving school. I lived overseas for two years and had to retake the road exam because my US License expired. They were able to fit me in with two days notice, give me some good advice before the test, and provided a professional but courteous testing experience. This reduced the stress / irritation of having to take the test after all these years! And...I passed.The instructor has been doing this for +25 years so I am sure he is a good teacher for new drivers as well.

This was a great and quick way for me to get my driving license. I was nervous but the Guy that did my test was very down to earth and nice. Passed the test and would recommend this place to anyone trying to get there license quick.

Was sitting outside the door with my question knocking on the door and the employees ignored me acting like I wasn’t there until I called on the phone and then denied that he saw me waiting. As my foreign wife said “this is some of the worst service I have seen in the US. “

The instructors are very patient and accommodating (I took behind-the-wheel driving lessons with Ed and Michael and my driving test with Ed). Learning how to drive with them was very reassuring as the cars have a brake on the passenger side. The instructors calm and explanations made it much easier to learn than learning with my family. Most of their cars are at least partly electric, which is really cool.

Ed was great. Albeit my 1pm appointment didn’t start until almost 1:25pm. A few of the judgements were a bit subjective. Example: I was marked down for stopping too close to a vehicle at a light. I could clearly see the bottom of the vehicles tires, which I’m aware is the recommend lawful stopping distance, but Ed who is shorter than I could not. Thus, he marked me down for this. Overall though good feedback and a swift process. Thanks for keeping drivers safe and legal on our streets!

The instructor was detailed and engaging. My class was a great refresher and I’ll definitely send my son here when it’s time for him to take driver’s ed.

The coach taught me the driving skills very patiently. ED was very friendly and taught me to take a deep breath before the exam. I think this is very useful for me and let me pass the exam.

I took a 2hr BTW highway class through the institute. It was snowing so rather than spending all the time in the highway, we focused on a mock drive test. Manav, the instructor, was relaxed and super awesome guy. He shared tips on what to look out for and how to manuever in city environments. Overall great experience. A few days later I took the state drive test with them, easy to schedule and super flexible time slots.

Easy to schedule online and if you call ahead of time, they are flexible about rescheduling (due to flu/weather) if you give them plenty of time. My son has learned a bunch from his 6 hours BTW training and Ed is great!

For me, there were some misunderstandings between me and the instructor I had during my last driving test, but overall a very good experience. They know what theyre doing. Theyre good, friendly people. And they were very convenient with scheduling me.

Our 19 year old said the one-on-one driving lesson was perfect and exactly what he needed to feel confident doing my practice with us. Hes feeling much more ready to get his licences
