To be honest, becoming a member at Easton has been one of the best decisions Ive ever made. I was baffled when I saw how the community embraced new members. Ive never felt more accepted in a new environment in my entire life. Words cant describe the kindness and respect that everyone has for each other here. Come check it out if you have ever wanted to learn a martial art or just want a new form of exercise. Youre doing yourself a disservice by not coming to a FREE class. I promise that you will not be disappointed. The price for a monthly membership might seem expensive, but as a broke college student I can confidently say that it is well worth the cost. The discipline, friendships, technical skills, and overall fitness that you develop here will outweigh ANY amount of money that you spend.

Classmates and staff at Easton Boulder are friendly and welcoming. Email questions are answered promptly. Waiving mat fees for visitors is very generous. Classes are well organized with instruction I can remember for months. I appreciate the folding of class rank lines (seniors with juniors), so that we dont need to worry about finding a partner. The detail that felt most welcoming probably seems very small, but displaying extra supplies in the womens changing room makes it clear that women are invited and encouraged to practice *every* week.

My best friend and I wanted to join a kickboxing class and being dedicated yogis we wanted to have a very authentic experience so we signed up at Easton a few weeks ago and are loving it!!! I love how welcoming and kind all the students and coaches are. Everyone is super dedicated and the gym is clean! I can tell there is a general form to the kickboxing classes but all of the coaches have their own unique styles which keeps it interesting!John Ianni, he teaches the Friday 12pm kickboxing class, is by far my absolute favorite coach! He is passionate about what he teaches, gives clear direction in every class and spends time with each student to ensure we all understand what’s happening. He simplifies complicated combinations which I can appreciate being completely new to this sport! He’s uplifting and positive while also pushing us to go beyond the limitations of our mind! He makes me feel especially empowered to be a woman in class and I can’t sing his praises enough! Not to mention he’s got the best music playlists which helps me stay motivated until the very end!😝 I highly recommend taking classes here if you’re looking for an authentic experience in mixed martial arts with dedicated coaches and students!

The coaches were nice and students were nice, but I could see favoritism in there and the coaches took more time on those students they favored and put them into their inner circle while the other students didn’t receive that kind of treatment and had to get privates. The Muay Thai program is good but there’s a clear hierarchy which made the environment there intimidating rather than welcoming. The head coach for Muay Thai is quite hard to read and but I can see he has his favorites and some of the other students are just not of too much importance to him. Muay Thai shouldn’t have rank, traditionally there aren’t ranks so to add that in adds another layer of complexity to the mix. I’ve come back to Easton on and off hoping for it to change but Easton is a clique environment and there’s a lot of ego. I think their programs are decent and I can see how it’s helped folks, but for me personally I just felt like I didn’t belong there.

Easton is a very welcoming place to train. No matter the rank you are treated as equal. It is a place to help build each others skill sets and confidence in those skills. Everyone is welcoming of all skill levels and no one is ever put down or made to feel less than others. This is a tightly knit group of people that are always willing to help. This type of feel in the gym makes it easy to walk in without feelings of intimidation or self-consciousness, which to me is very important.

Ive been a member at Easton since 2012, when I moved to Boulder for graduate school. After my first class, I hesitated at first because I wasnt sure if I could afford it. They told me to take my time and think about it, and after taking a good look at my budget, I decided I was willing to make the sacrifices necessary to make it work. Since then, the gym has paid for itself several times over. Not only do I stay physically fit, but the instructors and teammates here have been instrumental to my mental health and growth as a person: teaching me how to overcome challenges, remembering that everything is temporary, and seeing failure as the mother of invention. Now Im working on my PhD dissertation and I dont think I could have come this far without the Easton family--both the physical outlet, the community, and the encouragement from the instructors. I cant recommend it highly enough. Oh, and also its a world-class martial arts academy with an impressive competition record and several world champion black belts. NBD. :)

This is one of the most, if not the most, legit gyms you can go to. There are various professional fighters that come here to train and your average parents or college students who want to get fit while learning martial arts. This speaks volumes to the quality of instruction and to the community here at Easton-Boulder. On top of all that, the free class trial, the $99 trial month, and the reasonable price for Muay Thai classes and BJJ classes is amazing. You are getting world-class instruction for less than $200 for either martial art. If you are hesitating coming in, take a leap of faith and sign up for a free class, you wont regret it.

I had the opportunity to drop into Easton Boulder and train three days while on a trip through Colorado. The facilities were super nice, lockers, shower, very clean mats and a good setup to keep the funk down. I attended a fundamentals class for beginners even though Ive been training almost a decade and found it to be really well done and helpful. I also attended an Open Mat and accidentally part of instructor training which I think is really unusual. Most schools dont bother with instructor training and just kind of leave it up to the individuals based on their experience and knowledge but without a ton of guidance. Both professor Alex Huddleston and professor Amal Easton were very welcoming and enthusiastic. Overall the culture and vibe seem to be really welcoming and focused on very technical jiu jitsu. Great place to drop in and Im sure an awesome place to make your home gym if youre living in Boulder.

However, I decided to jump into Muay Thai, and it may be one of the best decisions Ive ever made. The culture here is not only one of discipline & serious training, but one of warmth and a strong sense of community. The coaches and students push each other to do better, and go out of their way to bring newer, less-experienced students into the fold. I love Easton. I had been out for a while after a car accident and neck injury and am so happy to have just started back. Ive missed it so much. I love that Easton Academy is a world class gym with great instructors providing challenging, high level curriculum while fostering a friendly, supportive community. I love how we have a common goal to help everyone get better. We push one another to our limits, while still allowing others to feel successful in order to encourage growth and confidence. I feel very at home when Im at Easton. I have just been back for two classes since resuming my training and both times saw people who were genuinely excited to see me and have me back. Easton is very much a family. In my nonprofit work, I train people in de-escalation and nonviolent direct action and I recommend Easton all the time. People often find themselves in challenging, emotionally charged and potentially dangerous situations and are concerned about self defense. I encourage everyone to learn either Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai or both and tell them that Easton is not only the best school in Colorado, but one of the best in the world. I share with them that they will feel fit, strong and confident in their ability to protect themselves. People will feel their presence and the energy they project in escalated situations and that alone will most often be enough to prevent things from devolving into a violent conflict. I know many people who have at least given it a try, but now that Ive returned, look forward to being an even better ambassador for Easton and continuing to bring people in and help them along their journey. Right now, I am just taking kickboxing for a month to get back into shape, but my goal is to next month resume Muay Thai and advance to my next rank of Blue Shirt. I also plan to finally begin cross training in Jiu Jitsu as well, train hard and eventually compete. Ultimately, I would love to reach a point where I am able to become an instructor for Easton and also launch a program to train and support people with whom I currently work in marginalized or at risk communities. I feel like Easton is the perfect place for me to reach my potential and realize all of these goals.

Ive been taking the kickboxing classes that feed into Muay Thai since December. It is a great workout, cardio, strength (quite challenging calisthenics built in), lots of basic drills on boxing and kicks.I have been working out 4-7 hours a week before, with personal trainers, and in the gym by myself following a plan. I still notice more upper body, core, leg strength and isometric endurance now, and occasionally just going for a run is easy.I like the challenge of coordination and learning new movements, and the coaches at Easton are very helpful.Ryan, Devin, and Morgan are my favorites, but everybody has been very encouraging. The training follows a clear plan with variations from session to session and weekly themes (one week boxing, one week low kicks etc).Vi, one of the managers, has sold me on the membership by being friendly, caring, informative and not using any pressure sales techniques. All front desk staff has been remarkably friendly, even when its very busy and they must have a lot of extra work with Covid precautions. The online scheduling system is easy to use.Other members are nice, but not overly chatty. There is no feeling of cliques and newbies are welcome.

Theres no too cool for you vibe or big egos even though the level of accomplishment there is very very high - it feels extremely welcoming, positive, and supportive of me being there (no matter what level). This is what is so amazing and beautiful to me about Easton. I like how there is a theme that is the focus for the week in kickboxing. And that there is an emphasis on practical technique from an instructor who not only has the credibility of obvious proficiency, but also the teaching skills to be encouraging and also help you improve. Also, the convenience of being able to show up to classes when you please is great! The facility is compact but complete and tidy. Ive been drawn to martial arts ever since I was a little boy, so kickboxing at Easton Training Center has been incredibly fun! Every class is a challenge; theres tons of running, lots of burpees, stretching, and shadow boxing before the training even begins! The hands-on training from the amazing staff of coaches showed me that they care about my training and want to see me improve just as much as I do. They are professional, patient, and accommodating to everyone who steps into the gym.Dont think you have to be a fighter to enjoy class either! People from all walks of life come to this place, ranging from students to mothers, and even other disabled veterans like myself!Since beginning my training, my physical health have greatly improved. I noticed my muscles are more toned, my stamina during vigorous activities is WAY up, and, for the first time in my life (near the age of 30) I have ABS! Whats been more beneficial is the effect it has had on my mental health. I used to be more fearful and anxious, but the training has helped me overcome a lot of fear and given me a sense of control back in my life. If you are consistent, you will see your skill in kickboxing (or BJJ or Muai Thai) improve, showing you that something you are doing WORKS.If you do read this and decide you want to give it a try, here are two tips I consider to be golden for this class:If you are a beginner, and even if youve been training for a while, be sure to TAKE IT SLOW. Its tempting to put a lot of power into punches and kicks right away, but good form trumps power. I hurt my shoulder throwing a bad hook because I was throwing too hard without proper form. Trust me; itll save you a lot of recovery time if you just focus on form. Also, theres not always a lot of time at the end of class to fully cool down and stretch, but you should always take some time to stretch afterwards. You can stretch on the mats if there is no class coming in, but you can stretch anywhere in the building and no one would care. Stretch!Overall, I really love Easton Training Center and plan to keep going. Its a lot of fun, the training is effective for all learner levels, the exercise is AWESOME and its a community of people who just love martial arts and building each other up! Five stars are well deserved!

I have to be honest. Im a 53 year old man who found BJJ through watching MMA fights. I watched a fight last year and they mentioned the fighter (name escapes me) was trained at the Easton center run by Amal Easton. I Googled it, found the one in Boulder, and decided to give it a try.It took me some time to muster up the fortitude to walk into the place. Honestly, my impression was that theyd see this middle-aged man walking in and not give me the time of day. After all, isnt Jiu Jitsu a young mans sport? Still, I submitted an only request for an intro class as immediately got a reply. The date and time was set.I could not have been more wrong. The front desk folks, old enough to be my kids, were extremely friendly and accommodating. The coach assigned to the intro glass was patient and explained things well. Though we were using grappling dummies, I left there hooked on learning the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.Since then I have to say the community of Easton is one of the best Ive experienced. Everyone is helpful, patient, and the instructors are top notch. The entire Easton community, from the top on down, cares about your safety, your journey, and your health. Ive never seen anything quite like it (and Ive boxed, played multiple sports, and kept active most of my life. Its truly an amazing thing they have going on there. Even through COVID, their attention to detail and concern for the safety of their community is beyond any expectations.I highly recommend Easton for any age level and for any of the programs they offer. You may find out BJJ, or Muay Thai, or kickboxing are not for you, but I can honestly say that your journey in those areas will not end because of Easton. If you love the sport, you will find a home here, and learn more about yourself than you ever thought possible.

World class BJJ studio. They put as much into their kids programs as they do adult training. Teacher-to-student ratio is great; usually 1 coach to 3-4 kids. The staff train the kids hard, with discipline, focus on self-control, sportsmanship, and that losing is as important as winning (NOT in an everyone-gets-a-trophy way). They have a great class schedule, so if we miss a class there are still plenty of chances to get more training in. Staff are friendly, helpful, and make you feel welcome from the start. I enjoyed my one month trial at Easton. I didnt renew my membership mainly because their class schedule didnt line up with my work schedule. I also didnt feel like there was enough space for live grappling, which is what I was interested in doing. I have 15+ years of wrestling experience, and have been coaching HS wrestling for over 5 years. They made the cancellation process very difficult. I had to call to cancel, fill out a form online (that was designed to confuse you into accidentally renewing your membership), and then send two follow-up e-mails. After my last e-mail they were still referring to my notice of cancellation as a request and my deposit for the second month had not yet been refunded. In addition to this cancellation friction, they kept asking for feedback on why I didnt renew my membership. Upon receiving this feedback, they forwarded it around the office to unrelated parties, made some nasty comments, and then forwarded those e-mails to me. You can see one of the workers calling me a Pretentious Git in the attached photo.I dont appreciate maximizing cancellation friction as a business model. And I dont appreciate personal attacks simply because I canceled my trial membership and responded to a request for comment.I assume this is how they treat most people who cancel their memberships, and thats a poor way to run a business.

I am seeing alot of change, and growth in my self personally from going to Easton. I have had others come up to me at a recent mens retreat saying there is something different about you. What ever it is keep it up!

Easton has, simply put, changed my life! You hear the stories all the time...BJJ changes lives. Unfortunately, you can’t feel it until you’re immersed in it. I become a better person every day, thanks to jiu jitsu.Easton’s culture is amazing. Everyone is there to help everyone else grow and succeed. Our community exemplifies the best in JJ. Love it.

The instruction is excellent, but number 1 thing is Easton has created a community. It’s the jiu jitsu version of Cheers where everyone knows you name. Special place

We have been a part of Easton for the past year and eight months. We have been in the kickboxing program and two of the kids programs. The teachers here are great. They take the time to learn how to teach each student best and work individually with all students throughout the class. The kids teachers are especially involved, asking the kids how they are doing and what they are interested in before class, then really getting each kid involved during class. Our son has been in the Little Tigers class for 8 months and we could not be happier with the skills he has learned and the activities that we have been able to add in to our daily lives.

Im admittedly biased, but being part of the Easton Training Center community since 2014 has been such a transformative experience for me. I went from zero martial arts knowledge and almost never working out to being a fit Muay Thai junkie. The friends Ive made through Easton are some of the truest Ive ever had. The challenges of training have helped me to grow up, and to grow stronger in both mind and body. Id recommend this to anyone who is looking for a cooler workout, a safer walk home, a boost to be better, and a tribe who will welcome you.

Being in transit to Boulder, I came to train in BJJ at the easton training center for a few days to prepare for a tournament. As soon as the staff arrived I was immediately welcomed in a very kind and nice way, they were immediately available, efficient and very professional, I was able to register and train the day after, the same goes for the professors who were super welcoming, kind, friendly , available and very nice. Furthermore the gym is very well organized and well equipped, so are the lessons. I found here the ideal place to train for the competition. It is really a pleasure to be able to train in a gym of this high level and be able to be in such an exemplary environment, I really hope that in the future I will have the opportunity to go back there, I highly recommend everyone to try this great experience. Thanks to the easton training center for your wonderful welcome.

This place is great!I was just visiting Boulder for a few days and trained BJJ with them while I was there. Even though they knew I wasnt going to stick around and become a member, they still treated me like gold and welcomed me into the group - that is the sure sign of good people.
