We started here at a later age than most with major anxiety surrounding the water, after trying a rec swim class. Now my son is confident and skilled at swimming. We did do some private lessons as well as group. All of the instructors are really great. I cant believe how far we have come in a short time. Small class sizes and lessons year round (in the heated pool without harsh chlorine)is another perk.

We tried lessons at the Boulder Rec Center and they never really clicked for my daughter. When we found Ocean First, however, the fit was immediate. The pool is warm, the instructors are wonderful, and the class size - 1 to 4 students per instructor - really allowed them to connect with and target the teaching to my daughter. The curriculum them use, with regular tests and badges, made it easy for her to track her progress. And, they do morning classes for adults which are fabulous (though, for adults, the pool is a little small - plan to hone your skills here and then practice elsewhere in town).

Ocean first swim school’s primary focus is the safety of our children, which as we all know comes first. Then, they truly want our children to see the beauty of water and be able to utilize their bodies in a way that preserves energy and promotes ultimate joy. We couldn’t be happier!!

A great place to learn swimming...

Be aware that this place has very limited scheduling, especially if you have a job. I got a gift card here for baby and me swim lessons and cant use it because all classes are m-th with the latest starting at 5 p.m. saw we can accommodate almost any schedule on the website so emailed to find out if they ever offer anything for parents who, you know, actually work and was told they do not.

I dont understand the 1-star review. The place is in excellent condition and the lessons are top notch.
