A unique and wonderful experience. Don’t be dissuaded by the storefront appearance or the clutter on the inside.As you enter, the owner/chef/host will greet and seat you. He then asks what you want to order through a serious of questions. The “menu” (think cafe rio with meat/entree options) is printed on the wall but you won’t need it. He will just ask for your protein preferences and then list off many side options. He then creates an extremely creative meal that’s absolutely packed with flavor.Better even than the food was the hospitality. Some reviewers were taken aback by his east coast personality, but he truly is a kind man who cares about his customers. He went above and beyond in his conversation with us. He also has some cool books with currency from across the world, signed by former customers.It is on the pricier side ($55+tip for 2) but you can certainly tell him you want a cheaper option and he’ll figure something out.

We went here for my husbands birthday. It was no big deal just somewhere to eat after a long hike. We had no idea this would be such an incredible experience! The Chef is a literal master. He cooks you anything you want and it is all so healthy and delicious. He will also give you tastes of whatever else he has cooking. It’s like you’re in the kitchen with him. His ingredients are the most fresh as he grows all his food right outside his restaurant. We got huge yummy portions and he dipped some chocolate covered strawberries for us. He also sat and talked to us about where to locally source our food, since it feels like the grocery store prices have gone up and the food is getting worse. He showed us his garden and explained how to get our own soil ready. He picked all kinds of veggies and just gave them to us. I felt totally edified after our visit. The chef is also such a good guy. Many people walked into his restaurant, including a police officer and he gave them snacks and drinks just to be nice. He sent me recipes and told us to come back when he had too many crops. I honestly feel that we didn’t pay enough for that experience.

My mom wanted seafood today for her birthday. I had heard about this place a bunch of times in our neighborhood FB page, but first time going and man Chef Hai did not disappoint! They have an amazing selection of fresh seafood and veggies. We got different variations of stir fries, pasta and salad with delicious fish, prawns, shrimp and chicken. Everything was amazing! We will definitely be back and my parents said this was the best restaurant they have been to in a very long time!

The food is always awesome! Fresh, high-quality and great flavors. The experience is different than a normal restaurant but so worth getting a little outside your comfort zone. The Chef is wonderful and very knowledgeable about his craft. You wont be disappointed as long as you just let him take care of you the way he like. Prices are very reasonable for what you get.

This place is the best place to eat in Bountiful. High-quality dry-aged steaks. Vegetables grown from seeds, with farm-fresh flavor. Chef Hai doesnt have a traditional menu. You choose a protein, fish, beef, pork, lamb. or a variety of vegetarian options. He then prepares the food for you and charges very reasonable prices. Its not a traditional restaurant and that may turn some people off. But for those that value high standards of culinary perfection. This place is hard to beat. One last thing. The Chef hires individuals with some special needs. And I love supporting a business that supports those of us that need some extra help now and again. I would discount the 1-star reviews. This place is a treasure.

Unique atmosphere and attentive chef. Menu is ambiguous but it works. It’s a conversational ordering process with the chef himself. The prime rib was good and the Chilean Sea Bass was phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back and try more of his amazing creations.

Quite a quirky place with one-man running the entire business. Upon entering the location we seated ourselves and searched the location for a menu. It was a mix between a nice cafe and a specialty convenience store.It was then that the owner came out and said that he doesnt do a menu but to choose a type of protein so he knew what to make us for our meal. After telling him what we are in the mood for and which proteins suited us for the day he then listed dishes that he was making that day that suited our requirements.Using fresh vegetables that are grown on site, he then prepared our decadent lunch. If youre looking for a new dining experience and food that is creatively wonderful, then I would highly recommend this location. The only reasons that we gave this a four-star review instead of a five is because we felt it was a little pricey. On the other hand you cant find organically grown good food in a restaurant, so I suppose that the food matched the price.They really do have the best rice in Utah that we have tried thus far.

We had a wonderful lunch here today. The owner and chef was a delightful host. Our family will definitely be coming back next time we are in the Salt Lake area.Our meal was served family style for a group of five adults and five children. We had beet pasta, steaks, grilled salmon and white fish, curry with squash and mixed rice, green salad, vegetable pad thai. For dessert we had chocolate covered strawberries.

Took my husband on a date and wanted to try something new and we came across this AMAZING restaurant! The service and food were exceptional. The owner was very kind and made us feel like we were special guests. We were also able to purchase a special blend of rice to take home and some new seasonings. I highly recommend this place! This place isn’t a restaurant, it’s an experience. Hai was very friendly and had solid recommendations. The food was perfection, but the ambiance is one of a kind. Hai flies in freshly caught fish from the ocean, giving freshness that you can’t find anywhere in Utah.Art, thank you notes, spices for sale. There is a lot going on in the restaurant and it makes for a one of a kind experience.

Looking for fresh ingredients this is the place to come. Very unique place its a one-man show. He tells you whats fresh ask you if you want seafood or meat he goes from there. He makes food from over 100 different countries. There is no menu. Definitely recommend you try it out.

If you want the best food in UT, then just shut up and drive to this restaurant!! I cant describe the first bite of steak. While you are eating and swallow it, your brain would feel full of diverse flavors. Especially, I can see the pride of chef in foods. After I eat lunch here and I drive back to eat dinner with my friend. I KNOW it sounds crazy but I never eat lunch and dinner on the same day. The foods were phenomenal!!! A little gem in bountiful. I had the BEST salmon I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously it was perfectly cooked! Chef Hai sits you down and asks what you’re in the mood for and then off he goes to make your dish and brings out a heavenly meal. Think better tasting than flemings! Chef Hai is very kind and provided such a nice atmosphere. Their homemade seasoning is amazing! The lamb was also divine. If you like good quality meat/seafood then you better stop by here soon because you will not be disappointed.

The chef is a very amicable man. He helped us order some delicious food. When we were leaving, we decided to buy some of their seasoning as well. The chef then shared recipes with us that used the seasoning we were buying and showed us a video on his phone about how to make a sauce using the seasoning. Very friendly service and great food.

Went to Chef Hai’s Thyme and Seasons tonight. What a great experience! This is one of the few places where I trust the Chef to make me whatever is fresh. Since it was my birthday, he didn’t disappoint. The lobster and scallops pasta was delicious, with fresh vegetables and a creamy sauce I was in heaven.If you’re in the mood for upscale food with a local atmosphere, then this is the place. Stop on by, sit down where you can find a spot and pour yourself water or soda.Menu on the wall, every dish served our party (we ordered prime rib steak, prime rib pho, chicken pan thai, and bbq chicken for the kids to share. Generous portions and sides. Salad was fantastic. )Hai spent some time sharing vanilla info, ended up buying Nielsen-Massey vanilla paste, vanilla powder and 2 flavored vanilla extractExcellent evening, reasonable prices.Hai seemed to know half the patrons and sat down and visited with them.Left with squash for the kids and extra Keto friendly chocolate mini cake dessert that was served on the house.Will be back as often as possible

A unique fantastic experienceThis is the best restaurant north of SLC. For $30 I got steak, lobster and a large bowl of pasta. IT WAS ALL EXCELLENT. There is a unique taste here because the owners specialize in making spices. I overheard the owner telling another table they ship their spices all over the world. You can tell they have a lot of experience. It’s very unique and very refreshing, especially when 9/10 restaurants outside of downtown SLC are chain.Fun, unique atmosphere. The owner is the real deal, strange, OCD, eccentric, interesting, kind, fascinating individual. Don’t try shaking his hand, he has a thing with germs, which I loved since he makes the food. You can’t be offended by anything though when he is sneaking you and your crying kid tiny cupcakes. He was awesome.The only restaurant I’ve been to that compares taste wise would be Valter’s in SLC. However Valter’s is 3x the price for the same meal (worth it though and can’t put a price on Valter’s hug at the end of it).

I called and asked if they made vegan pho and the guy got SOOOOO UPSET AND DEFENSIVE. We’ve been coming here since it opened, 13 years?? We moved to Kaysville three years ago but still come back almost every weekend. Chef Hai never disappoints. His ingredients are always amazing and the finished product is more than amazing. I was told no real restaurants have menus, and so his didn’t. I was confused by that because EVERY restaurant I’ve been to has a menu. I ordered steak and potatoes then he brought it out and the steak was 85% fat and 15% edible meat. The potatoes he kept bragging about were the only good thing I had. I am by no means a food critic and like a lot of food but this just wasn’t edible. I expected to pay maybe $40 dollars total for my girlfriend and I but the total was 63 and some change. It would’ve been awesome to know the price before I ordered, but I was assured no real upscale restaurant has menus or prices. Weird guy weird food weird system. Just didn’t work for me.

When I walked into this place, it felt a little weird, not gonna lie. There is no hostess, no menu, no music. I’m pretty sure it’s an old blockbuster and it doesn’t exactly scream “elegant steakhouse.” The chef/owner came to our table and asked us what we would like. He recommended the surf and turf. This guy is super friendly and informative. We started out with delicious, colorful salads. Then our entrees arrived quickly. HOLY COW. It was to die for! The steak was HUGE. All the steaks are seasoned with his signature blend, and topped with flavored butter...it was a phenomenal mix of flavors. The lobster was well-cooked. The entree came with vegetables, risotto, and some type of potato dish (not sure what it was but I couldn’t eat it fast enough), which were all heavenly. Don’t go into this place expecting something like Ruth’s Chris in terms of atmosphere. BUT the food will blow you away.

Found this place by looking around the internet for mom and pop returaunts. Boy were we in for a treat. The food was top shelf. We left with a full belly and a smile on our faces. The chef was the most personable person in a resturaunt that I think I have ever experienced. His flare for flavor was seconed to none.. We had the seafood. It was cooked perfect and the seasoning was spot on. He introduced us to foods I have never tried before. The seafood soup was amazing. What an absolute wonderful 1st experience at Thyme and Seasons! From the moment we walked in and till we finished our meal, we were greeted and treated as if we had been long time customers. Hai (the owner) graciously took the time to discuss with us all the wonderful dinner options. When we inquired about the fish, he sat with us and thoroughly explained the different types of fish and even showed us pictures so we had an idea what we would be eating. The food was truly some of the best we had ever experienced! We ordered the sea bass with pasta and the flavors were just spot on! Our friend ordered the steak and it was so flavorful and tender. The 3rd time Ive been here and its so good. I had Sea Bass for the 1st time. So juicy and tender. The sides of risotto, vegetables, and mashed potatoes were delicious. I would definitely recommend to everyone. Just remember the place isnt for everyone. There is no menu. The owner/chef gives you options and you choose. You wont know the price until you check out. On weekdays it can be anywhere between $15-$20 and on weekends $20-25. If you get the Sea Bass or Prime Rib it will be $30. If thats not an issue than you wont have a problem.

This place is very unique! Not a typical restaurant, you don’t see a menu, the owner comes to your table and asks what you want. Be very clear as to what you want and it will happen. Owner is very friendly so if you are looking to NOT be chatty this may be off-putting. We had the best steak and prime rib ever! The mash potatoes are very good and the veggies were good as well. Plan on spending around fifty for two meals, but you will not be disappointed! We will be back!

We loved this restaurante, it is unique. The chef comes to ask you what are you craving for. I have celiac disease and his food is mostly Gluten free. He makes the most healthiest dishes. I fell in love of this restaurant. I highly recommend it.
