My son attends the aftercare school program and the camps during the summer. This was our first year with them and absolutely amazing. They treated my child like their own and worked with me. They are absolutely amazing teachers and childcare providers.Ms. Caroline goes above and beyond for the children she cares for. If you are looking into an aftercare program look no further!

Disclaimer: We hope this review is used to help better the program for ALL kids that participate in the afterschool program. Our child is a 6 year old who started kindergarten this year. We felt like this was be a great opportunity for our son to learn Tae Kwon Do as well as discipline and respect for others. I would come in and watch him do his forms and we would stick around sometimes and watch the older kids do their testing. We even participated in a Ninja Night which was a night event that allowed the kids to play and eat together. As time went on, I would notice when I would come to pick our son up he was usually in the corner playing alone or with anothers kids iPad etc. The teachers would typically stand at the front of the room backed up to a table or desk.. Very rarely would I see them engaging the children.. just more so overseeing. We all know our kids and for our child he needs to be stimulated.. we noticed he wasnt doing his homework either however we looked at it as him adjusting .. it was all new to him.Everything was fine besides the typical roughhousing that little boys do. I never thought for a moment that there was a problem with our child being there until about 2 weeks ago I got a call from the owner - I was notified that our son said to him he didnt want to be there anymore and that he was having behavioral issues with him. I told him we would talk to our son and get back with them which we did the follow week or so later. Our son said he was bored a lot, however he liked it sometimes and that Mrs. Ro in particular was his favorite person. It was a typical 6 year old response and it satisfied the question for us.Last week I was picking up my son and one of the teachers told me that the owner wanted to speak to me in the front office. The owner begins to tell me again how He doesnt think our son is a good fit for the program and that when he told our son he was not going to be in the program anymore.. that he was shocked that our son did not cry like the other students usually do. He said, He acted like he had ICE in his VAINS. As a mother you can imagine the restraint I had to have to not say what I really wanted to say to this person. He goes on to comment that .. You have to be a SOLIDER here. And we just dont think this is going to work and did we know what we were going to do? When I asked why not say something sooner to the parents I was told they try to fix it internally first and that all his teachers were in agreement that they could not deal with our son. Not one time were we told this or given notice that this would happen or that our son was in so many timeouts he wasnt benefiting from their program. So let me just say that we recognize that there are some kids that need more attention than others, some have learning delays, sensory issues, and all the like. Not one child at the age of 5 or 6 has it all figured out BUT yet your flyers and websites state.. To forget and learn from your mistakes, and concentrate on greater achievements of the future - To help you develop intense levels of discipline and self-control that will aid you in all areas of achievement.. Its a SHAME you are not promoting this to all kids. The afterschool program unfortunately seems more like a revolving door of teachers in the short time we were there I noticed about 5 or 6 new teachers because of the previous ones leaving...that is a new teacher each month. And they are either seating around or standing around. We removed our son from the program IMMEDIATELY after that conversation. WORD to the WISE - The owner is extremely overweight, rude, and unsophisticated he shouldnt handle your issues with parents and children. He is a total contradiction to what you are trying to promote: being healthy, kind, patient, and committed to the children to being the best they can be. He was personally upset that my son didnt CRY when told he may have to leave the program.. looks like my son was a SOLIDER after all! :-)

Great Tae Kwan Do and Aftercare program. Buses pick up children right from local schools. Sponsors Friday evening Kids Night so parents can get away for a few hours.

I liked Peformance Martial Arts but there was sometimes were I would regret going there. The Tae Kwon Do teachers where great. If you didnt have your uniform youd have to do 100 sit-ups 100 squads 100 moutain climbers 100 push ups and 100 jumping jacks. Other wise I liked doing karate there.( not tae kwon do related ) When I tried to tell a teacher someone was picking on me he covered his ears and said la la la la la la so I just walked away. And also a kid bit me on my arm so.. that was totally unacceptable. The kid did get suspended for a few days.Good News Is that I met my best friend there who is still my best friend.Otherwise its a okay aftercare.
