Wonderful martial arts education location! Marty and Laura are amazing, as are those that help teach classes. From day one my little one was welcomed, encouraged, and made a part of the group. Learning about focus, listening, manners, in addition to the art of karate. Other kids are always very excited about learning and participating, and you can very much tell the instructors are equally excited. They offer programs from young child, through adults. Lots of fun, exercise, and learning. I very much recommend them 😊

Marty and his wife and daughter are absolutely amazing as is Mr. Whitlow! I love how they not only worry about what the kids do in class but they incorporate respect at home and school as well. My son absolutely loves going twice a week. For anyone worried about the money put in to it....Know that its worth every penny. Not only do they learn karate, they learn how to be respectful, still, and listen to authority. In a very fun, age appropriate way.

My six year old son has been doing karate here for nearly six months and loves it. He never complains about going, which was a challenge with the other sports we have tried, and he loves to practice at home, as well.Like one of the other posters, I was critical of the belt earning process at first. My son clearly had not perfected the katas needed to earn his yellow belt, for example, but that isnt what Sensei is looking for in the younger kids who are just starting out. He wants them to try their best, take learning seriously, and continue to love karate. The refinement will come later with age and practice. His method clearly works ... there are several kids there who have participated and have even placed in national championships. One of them is pretty young!Sensei has been a great influence, and he does a great job of motivating my son. The motivation to excel and have discipline extends beyond the dojo, which I appreciate.Cant wait to enroll my second boy when he is old enough (hes 2).

Yes, my son enjoyed this place but I dont agree with the ethics and practices of this establishment. The promotion of belts was NOT based upon the ability to perform the tasks needed to earn the advancement but merely to encourage kids to continue. My son was promoted to yellow belt, when he clearly couldnt perform the task that was given. Marshal arts is a sport that standards shouldnt be bent in order to conform to the current standards of society; where things are given not earned. Kids were also encouraged to participate in competitions when they were not ready for or TRAINED to compete in. BTW if you dont agree with how things are managed and your child has lost interest you are stuck in the year contract that you signed. Even, though Marty mentioned that its not about the money, it clearly is.

My young boys (8 and 5 at the time of this review) love this place. Sensei does a great job with the kids, as do the other instructors. They spar as well as do fun exercises and activities with the children. My boys now workout at home and stretch on a daily basis. Great dojo for young children.
