Education choices can be complicated however the benefits of attending Petra are numerous. The education the children receive is truly unmatched in the valley. That being said, it does come at a price which is worth the cost. Students are held to a high standard and they are encouraged to excel. The teachers are warm, sincere and work diligently to provide an amazing atmosphere for learning each day. The sports program and athletic director are improving every year and the excitement is building. Without a doubt, I am extremely grateful that all four of my children have attended Petra during their schooling years. I would encourage anyone considering Petra to stop by for a visit and sit in a class or two. I guarantee you will leave having learned something!

I attended this fantastic school for several years during high school. I credit a lot of growth in my faith to the teachers and the amazing authors they exposed me to. To have to work hard on a thesis and spend hours reading great works of literature helped me learn to defend my personal views and rounded me out as a person. When we would sing matins in the morning, it was always so meaningful to me. We would sing songs together that have been in existence for centuries- it was constantly chilling, beautiful- something I cant quite describe. To have moments of routine where we would, collectively, lift up our voices to the Lord and pray was such a refreshing way to start the morning. I still open up George Herberts poetry, C.S. Lewis Space Trilogy, or watch Tree of Life and am reminded of my high-school years at Petra where I now realize the Lord was constantly speaking sweetly to me and filling my soul with reminders of His love and mercy.

We are so thankful for this School! Our four kids have been attending Petra for eleven years and have felt challenged, encouraged, loved and supported.Our kids have been challenged to think critically, write persuasively, and articulate clearly. They have been taught to see issues from different perspectives.The teachers and staff at Petra are top notch! They are wonderful role models for our kids. They sacrifice so much by striving to create the best learning environment and they go the extra mile to communicate with parents and students.We are so grateful to have Petra play a big role in our kids formative years. Petra is a fantastic choice for school for many reasons. The quality of education is phenomenal and the curriculum is tuned into how children best learn at each phase of childhood and then as they become young adults. I am amazed by what my kids have learned this past year. They come home singing songs from every subject which helps them memorize a lot of different information. They came from public school in a state known for their schools and I can say they are learning more now than in the past and they are learning differently.I love the classical education model and the way they are being helped to think. Watching them learn Latin, Violin, read classics, and write in cursive has been tremendous. Latin may be considered a dead language to many; however, the way it builds vocabulary for everyday life and helps teach history is extremely important.The fact that children as young as 3 or 4 and then through Senior year can get up on stage regularly and speak, sing, and act in front of an audience is priceless when you think about how many people in everyday life are petrified to speak in a public setting.The community at Petra is supportive, caring, well qualified to teach, and has offered a wonderful atmosphere in which to learn. They help your students in ways that go beyond just subjects being addressed in the classroom and help then interact in ways that will prepare them for life.The fact that morals and values are pulled through your child’s educational life has also been invaluable. I highly recommend Petra for all this and more.

Our son has been at Petra for five years, and we wholeheartedly support and recommend this school. The teachers and staff are dedicated and friendly; it’s absolutely clear that they love what they do. Our son loves going to school, has excelled academically and socially, and recognizes Christ’s grace in his daily life.

As an alumni of Petra Academy, I loved being a part of the community. It was challenging, fun, and encouraged faith and respect in their students. There were stressful times, but those times also helped me to grow more and more as a person. Petra Academy has an amazing ability to shape your children for the world they will enter as adults. They have amazing science, math, art, literature, acting, sports, and many more areas of learning! Petra will give your child the kind of solid education that will result In giving them a huge advantage when they enter collage, whether they go to MSU or an elite college.

My son is an elementary-aged student at Petra. We couldnt be happier with his experience and education. My sons current teacher is superb at balancing fun moments and academic progress. Our son works hard, AND laughs a lot - a good mix. Hes having a wonderful year.

Our family has been at Petra for 4 years, and each year our children have had the most loving, well-qualified teachers who care for each and every one of their students. Both of my boys look forward to going to school each day, and as parents we love sending them somewhere they are safe and loved.

We have had our kids in Petra the last 4 years and have been met with every respect and kindness. No school is perfect of course, we are all human, and yes I have hear rumors and chit chat of this or that issue, but for us the staff and teachers have always made it clear that any concerns or issues we have will be addressed and handled with the grace and love of Jesus. They encourage a one to one conversation. The Classical education circulated is outstanding and I see my children succeeding here as the schools mission statement says “Recognizing our need for God’s grace, Petra Academy strives to awaken love and wonder in our students by teaching them to observe with humility, think with reason, and articulate with charity, for the flourishing of humanity and the renown of Jesus the Christ.” If anyone wants to chat about the school and it’s focus I’m happy to chat!

This was a perfect choice for our daughter and PreSchool. Nothing but the kindest employees. The children always seem to have smiles on their faces. This school taught my daughter a lot, most importantly they taught her love, respect and kindness- something that is lacking in the public schools in BOZEMAN.

We have been going to Petra for four years now and we love everything about this school. My girls are excited to go to school everyday and have really developed a love for learning. We are looking forward to many more years attending this school.

This is our 5th year at Petra and were so thankful to be there! The kindness and love of the teachers and staff is wonderful. Our kids are excited to go to school each day and have grown academically, socially, and spiritually.

I have three children attending Petra and I have been extremely pleased with the education and overall development of their character. It was a bit of a transition transferring from Bozeman High and Monforton but my children have really excelled. It has been amazing watching them enjoy learning, how to think for themselves, and how to study. I try and volunteer when I have time and I am amazed how the staff loves and cares for my children. My children will be better prepared for college and life thanks to Petra.

I was at the Vollyball game, on the apposing side and a faculty member was rude to my 2 year old. It was both unnecessary and ill timed. He may need a lesson on how it is sometimes difficult to entertain a toddler.I see now that the behavior of the faculty and parents are being reflected in the students poor, rude, and unsportsmanlike conduct. There is a I am better than vibe and it reflects in the attitudes given during the game.

Enrolling your children in a private school is a big sacrifice. We are reminded daily that the God centered education our children are receiving from Petra is worth that sacrifice. What a loving place for our children to grow in their faith and knowledge.

We have had children in Petra since 2012 and love the teachers, students and families. I would recommend the Classical Christian school to any parent looking for a quality education for their children!

We are impressed with the level of education offered at Petra. The professional and compassionate staff and faculty allow us to be a valued part of this community.

I went to this school from kindergarten to 7th grade and when I transferred to BHS I found my self looking down at my class mates at BHS because at Petra Academy they made you think that you are superior to other people who are not getting that experience. When I left Petra and went to BHS I found myself being happy at school and after at Petra I hade hours of homework every night it is was unbearable not 1 or 2 I am saying 4 to 5 hours of homework so if you want to send your kids there be prepared for them to come home sit down and have a lot of homework and for you to deal with a “I am better than you” state of mind.

I went to petra from preschool to 8th grade the staff is terrible, hours of homework every nightie head master is the worst person ever he destroyed the school the teachers explain nothing to you they get really impatient a lot this is why Im giving this school a one star

My daughter has had an amazing experience at Petra since moving from Livingston to Bozeman for her sixth grade year and beyond. She was a bit apprehensive at first, though now there is no other place shed rather be. She has developed deep and loving relationships with other students and as a whole loves her teachers. She is a junior now. Petra has a challenging curricula, yet the teachers and administration have been amazingly supportive and in particular the headmaster went out of his way to help my daughter with a personal challenging situation two years ago. She loves participating in volleyball, the annual school fundraiser play and also, through connections via Petra families, traveled to Central America to help a non-profit that helps provide wheelchairs to those in need. It was a life-changing experience for her. Everyone at Petra to me has been positive and supportive and I have felt the warmth of heart of everyone--students, faculty, parents, et.al. Petra, to me, is by far the best school, publlic or private, in the entire Gallatin/Park County area of Montana.

This place is hot. Seriously come here. #PetraIsNuts
