My 3 1/2 year old Elliot has been at this School for 1 year. Elliot wakes up excited to go to school everyday. He is thriving in all areas - Social, Emotional and Academically. We are so blessed to have found this family again. They also took care of my oldest when he was little. Thank you Ms.Terijana, Ms.Juliette and Mr. Tim for all you do.

I feel really happy and blessed for choosing this school because my daughter, who is in pre-k, has learned so much different things. Everything the teachers teach is all very lovely and amazing. I have never seen my daughter so happy until she wakes up every morning knowing she’s going to her happy place.I definitely recommend this school for your kids.

I researched and toured numerous early childhood centers for my great granddaughter. After touring and talking to the owners and teacher, I knew this was the montessori school for my girl. This is a ministry to the entire staff and speaking as a former early childhood teacher, I would have loved to taught at this little school.

We have our son at this school and he absolutely loves it! He really likes the chickens, ducks and rabbits, and gets very excited when he can help feed the animals. Every Friday they do a “cooking class” and help instill a love of healthy food in the kids there. Montessori allows children more choice and teaches independence. The last school we were at had a horrible teacher-student ratio, but my son gets a lot more individual attention at Bloomingdale Children’s House and thus, his behavior has also improved. I knew we had found a great fit when I went to pick up my son the first day and there were bits of leaves in his hair from exploring a tree.

I have been a part of the BCH family for 3 years now. Both my children have been blessed with having Ms. Fiona as their VPK teacher. They love school and have grown so much just being in this loving and supportive school environment. Its one thing to have love and support from home but to know that other adults care and respect them means the world to them. Thank you Bloomingdale childrens house.

I cannot say enough good things about this school. I dont usually write reviews, but after seeing the negative comments of a few, I felt compelled to complete this review. My children have attended this school for almost 4 years and my daughter, who is very strong-willed, has absolutely blossomed here. She gets one on one attention as well as tons of time to play outside. I recently became a stay-at-home mom again, but decided to go back to work twice a week for the sole purpose of sending her here 2 days a week. My son attended VPK here and went to Kindergarten this year in public school, where he is excelling in everything- and I credit that to the preparation he got from this school. And although he loves his kindergarten class, he still begs to come back here. As for the previous comment that they dont allow cookies (sugary snacks) for lunch, that is clearly stated in their contract. And by the way, who wants to watch 20 + kids all hyped up on sugar right before nap time?! Not me. We love this school and feel so fortunate to have found them. I absolutely trust them in the care of both my children.

My older daughter has attended Bloomingdale Children’s House since she was three years old. By the time she was in first grade she was a fast reader able to read and comprehend more advanced stories like Amelia Earhart and the Wright Brothers. The teachers are extremely caring and professional in getting children interested in science, math, geography (she is asking questions about the great wall of china, the Galapagos island and the Eiffel Tower to name a few music, art and so much more.I like that I don’t have to wait for teacher/parents conference day to learn how my child is doing. I simply ask how her day was every afternoon when I pick her up and get an immediate response and suggestions on how to improve and make her more interested in subjects which are not her strongest. The school parties are wonderful with plenty of activities including inflatables, hay rides face painting and water slides for the summer party. The school has never asked for additional compensation for art supplies nor the pictures she frequently brings home. She has made wonderful friends and memories and the closed door policy is only for their protection so that I can go to work knowing she is safe.

Bloomingdale Children House is a great place for children. I have known Ms.Terjiana, Mr. Tim, Ms. Juliette, and Ms. Fiona since 2009. Seeing them interact with the children for such a long time, two things that they have in common are patience and love for the children. Ms. Melissa joined them later and shares the same values. Each of them, while teaching their classes, are constantly moving around and interacting with the kids. They are with the children - on the floor, at the little tables or on the playground- they become one among the children teaching them how to do a task or learn a new subject, but at the same time patiently allowing them to perform the task or do the exercise on their own. From a very young age they teach the children how to fish, instead of doing things for them. For me that means patience and love.In this busy world that we live sometimes parents including myself dont have the patience to stay with the child until he/she is able to perform a simple task like picking up his/her own toys and leaving clean the space they are working with - instead we do it to be faster - not allowing the child to do the task on his/her own. Thatss definitely something your child will consistently learn here at Bloomingdale Childrens House. If you want your child develop independence, discipline, good behavior manners, consistency, intelligence and get ready for school, I highly recommend Bloomingdale Childrens House Montessori School.Im the piano teacher at the school and have learned a lot from Ms. Juliette how to wait patiently for the natural outcome of the child after I explained to him/her how to play something on the piano.

We love all of the teachers and the owners of BCH. Ms. Melissa was my daughters first teacher, and she is the most loving teacher in the world. She pays attention to details and always tells me the details of my child when I see her. Ms. Juliette is my daughters current teacher. Ms. Juliette is very caring and positive, and most important of all, full of energy. Yesterday, I was reading to my daughter and we saw a red bird. My daughter said, that is a cardinal. I asked her who taught her that. She said, Ms. Juliette! She also tells me there is potassium in bananas, etc. She has made a lot of friends at BCH and has learned a lot.

Terjiana, Tim , and Juliette. Since I have left three voicemails for the three of you, I will be coming in to the school to meet with you. This is Chase’s father and I’ll tell you , I always loved this school , I always thought we were doing best for our son by sending him here. The way my son has been treated the last few months and mostly few days has been horrible. I have no respect for someone who can call a five year old child a “liar.” As the three of you know I am no trouble and I would really like to just hear from you in person that my son was this “terrible” child. Since we never once heard that while he was going there. So if this is the case when I come in I would like to hear it from you , rather than from the internet that my son has been a “liar.” Thank you, look forward to either hearing back about my voicemails or meeting with you in person. ALSO , I would love to know which “friends” you have talked to that have said he is mean to their children. Since we do not hang out with ANYONE from the school. Again, I’d love to hear from you sooner than later. Thanks

This is a hidden gem of a school. My oldest daughter has been attending for the past 2 years and my second will be joining her in the fall. The materials are incredible (and they make me want to spend the day there as well!), but what is even more important is the warm, intimate atmosphere.Mrs. Juliette is an experienced Montessori teacher with an amazing gentle hand, but incredible control on the classroom (I call her the Pied Piper, since I have never seen children behave the way they do with her!). I cant emphasize enough that she truly cares about the children and wants the best for each child that walks through her doors...which is pretty darn fortunate for a few little terrors that have attended her school through the years! The school is located in the Brandon/Bloomingdale area and her husband and daughter participate in the school as well so it has a true homey environment, but with truly professional and amazing materials. But the greatest indication of its success is both how much my daughter loves it and how much she has grown, socially, intellectually, artistically, and emotionally since attending. The small class size builds valuable friendships and all families who attend are a joy.The best thing that Ive heard from other parents whose children have gone through Bloomingdale Childrens House Montessori is that by the time they go to kindergarten, they are very well adjusted--apparently more so than graduates from other pre-schools according to a kindergarten teacher in the area. Take that for what its worth because its obviously a little biased, but would not surprise me in the least. One of the best experiences for any preschooler, this wonderful environment is filled with fun and learning, rich experiences and a great supportive community. As we approach our daughters last day at Bloomingdale Childrens House Montessori School this week, I wanted to take a moment to thank the school for being an incredible influence in her young life. She is an amazing little girl and much of that has to do with the time she has spent there. We are very proud of her and excited for her future. Her sense of self, her interest in art, animals and being outdoors, her understanding of personal space and the friendships she has developed are skills and emotions that she will carry with her forever.Run by caring and knowledgable owners. The only drawback might be the waiting list, so check it out early!

Love Bloomingdale Childrens House! My daughter has been here for over a year and she is thriving. My brothers kids were taught by Mr. Tim, Ms. Juliette, Ms. Terjiana and Ms. Fiona a decade earlier, and the great head start they received set them up to excel in school as young adults. Here is why I give BCH my highest recommendation.1. The people. Trustworthy, professional, compassionate and personable. This is a family run organization which likely explains the highly personal attention they provide to students and parents alike.2. The environment. Safe, tidy, spacious and full of stimulation for my daughter. They have animals (rabbits and chickens) and a budding garden on premises which they use as interactive teaching tools with the students. Also, they have a great deal of flexible space which they utilize for holiday gatherings of parents, grandparents and students too. Great playground too which is constantly supervised!3. Their teaching methodology. As a team, they quickly recognized my daughters key personality traits and structured her learning activities accordingly. My wife and I continue to be blown away by the subtle things they pick up on, which we thought were only recognized by us as doting parents. To give you an idea of how well BCH is thought of, I can tell you that a number of parents drive their kids out to Brandon from Tampa daily. this speaks for itself as I the commute is nearly 45 minutes each way.In summary, I give Bloomingdale Childrens House and their wonderful staff my highest recommendation.

Our child has been attending Bloomingdale Childrens House since he was 6 months old, and he is now 2. First of all, I cannot explain how fortunate we feel that we were able to find such a wonderful place for our son when he was an infant. I was terrified by daycares that we visited when we were trying to find a place for him. We knew immediately that Bloomingdale Childrens House was different. The same teacher remained with our son all day, every day, and has a strong bond with him. I feel that when they are that young, a trusting relationship between the teacher and the child is extremely important, and our son has had this all along. Also important to us were the facts that they allowed him to use cloth diapers, and that they are supportive of his vegetarian and mainly organic diet. When our son was little, his teacher would carry him in a sling if he was fussy, because he was one of those little ones who just had to be held a lot.I love the family atmosphere at the school. Three of the teachers are relatives, but they treat us all like family. The children are very well-behaved and polite. This is a montessori school and class is structured in a different manner than traditional public schools, and I would recommend that anyone who is interested in having their child attend should at least have a basic understanding of montessori education so that they can understand why the school is structured the way that it is. That said, my child is only 2 and I can tell that he learns a great deal from his time at school; this includes things like colors, shapes, the alphabet, different animals, etc as well as acceptable social interaction. He loves the garden they have on the school grounds, and more than that, he loves the animals. (They have chickens and rabbits, among other things.) I feel that there is respect among the children, teachers, and parents. The montessori work is very interesting to my son and I can tell that he loves learning, which I believe is their main goal! Overall, we highly recommend this school.

I cannot say enough wonderful comments about this school. One of my first memories of the school when I first visited was how mannerly and respectful the children were. My husband and I took note as to how two little girls came in, sat down and started doing work without any prompting and held a very nice conversation while doing so like two proper little ladies and they were no older than 4. It was truly quite remarkable. I did not see anything else like it at any of the other schools that we were looking into. My eldest son is nearing 5 years old in a few months and has been with them since he was 15 months old. We have been a part of their family now for 3 1/2 years and my son is thriving. When my youngest son was born, there was no question of where he would be going. The only people that I would trust other than my own blood relatives to care for my children are at Bloomingdale Childrens House Montessori School. Ms. Terjiana, Mr. Tim and Ms. Juliette are family and that is not a downside. Ms. Fiona has been with them so long, she might as well be family too. That itself, speaks loads for what this school is like. There is a stable staff with no turnover whatsoever. They are dedicated to the children and are there for them everyday. They go above and beyond to make sure that the children are cared for, loved, enriched, stimulated, educated and safe. One of the most important things to me beyond the classroom is that my child is loved. I want the person who takes care of my little ones to show caring and affection toward them. Ms. Terjiana has taken personal care of and has loved on my two little boys for most of their lives and they each have a bond with her that I am quite proud of. My boys like to go to school and sometimes complain when they have to leave (it breaks a Mamas heart a little but is better than the opposite occurring). Ms. Juliette has a gentle but firm demeanor that I wish I could emulate. She speaks very kindly and softly to the children and keeps her classroom orderly. The children learn respect for the earth, nature and their fellow humans. What more could I ask for? Traditional schools seem to be losing their humanity. Ms. Fiona is delightful and so very good at what she does. She is the VPK teacher and the children adore her. My eldest is in her class and she even has some 4 year olds taking spelling tests. I challenge you to find that happening anywhere else. My son even makes me pretend to be Ms. Fiona when we do his homework. My boys have not yet officially been instructed by Mr. Tim in his classroom as he teaches Kindergarten through 3rd grade, however my eldest has visited his classroom on occasion to do some work and he is so very excited to do so. He is anxiously awaiting being in Mr. Tims class next year! This school is so well rounded. The children are exposed to manners, respect, animals, gardening, nature, practical life skills, tumblebus, dance, cooking class, etc. The list could go on and on. The only regret I have is that I did not start my eldest son with them until the age of 15 months. I should have had him there since he was 6 months old. I highly recommend this school and have referred many folks to them all of whom are pleased.

My child attended this school this past year and it was a NIGHTMARE. I personally observed MRS JULIETT yelling at the little kids and making the comments that you will sit there (in the bathroom) until you figure it out. There were several occasions of the teacher MR TIMS and MRS JULIETT belittling my child. They told my child they needed a better math student and that he will need to go to another school next year if he doesn t do better. During the time my son struggled, he was sent to the baby room or made to take a nap for an hour for punishment because he got to many of the problems wrong. There were other times the he was sent to the baby room to do his math while the other kids went outside to play because he took to long. MY SON WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ADHD AND THIS IS HOW HE WAS TREATED. There was one incident that my son was in a rocking chair and while rocking it, the chair hit a toy and broke. Mrs JULIETT told my son he had to pay for it. Many of times we would pack my son a lunch and add a small bag snack cookies. He was told in almost every occasion that it was not allowed there to have cookies in his lunch or anything with sugar. Who are these people in telling our kids what they can or cannot eat. Unless the school provides lunch, the school has no right to do so. This is a family run school and just know that their granddaughter goes there also and does no wrong. My son who is (8) told the little girl she was beautiful and wanted to marry her. lol. They then put my son in the baby room for punishment and said that was not acceptable there. This was my first experience in this type of school and last at this one. They are very unlike other schools. My son never had home work except for weekly spelling words. They had alot of play time and lots of animals on the property. They ride scooters alot (with out provided head protection) until your child gets hurt as well as watch tv and videos. They do not celebrate the same holidays as the public school system. National holidays are not observed and kids are required to go to school. When I went to the parent /teacher conference in one of the other class rooms, I noticed alot of bugs and knats flying around in the room. Im not sure if this is from all the animals that are on property. For the money that this place requires you to pay, I felt evrything that was in the school was very outdated except for the Mercedes Benzs that the all of family drives. In all, This was a terrible experience for my son. I would not advise anyone to attend this scho
