The most professionally owned and operated school .Bridgeport campus beautifully renovated space

I graduated from Branford Academy and I am grateful for my experience there. The teachers are amazing and patient. I went for barbering and learned so much more While i was in school i didn’t realize until after i graduated what the school was teaching me. I didn’t want to be there at the time and now I miss being there. Not only was i taught how to cut hair but be responsible for my actions as a barber and now as an employee. I transferred from another school and couldn’t be happier with that decision.

Everything seemed fine except my stylist blowdried my long color treated hair without putting any product in it and said she didn’t have anything this was just a school I think my hair got fried while it was being blow dried. The instructors just walked around and did nothing and didn’t help her when I asked about product they came over and put some in but my stylus is almost finished. I would not return I would go to the Paul Mitchell School North Haven instead. Just don’t know why the instructors didn’t help. That’s what they’re there for.Much better at the Paul Mitchell School North Haven except it takes a lot longer there.

Take heed to the reviews if youre looking to attend this school. Its a joke. Unprofessionalism throughout, unsanitary conditions( Im sure if the state came and saw they were using Mr. Clean to sanitize/disinfect it would get shut down). The owner does not care about the students, all about the bottom line risking student health! Enforcing dress code but not covid-19 protocols. Check the fb page, their always hiring for teachers because no one wants to work in a ghetto environment with zero communication on behalf of the owner. Never know what your gonna get walking in.. do we have an instructor today or nah? The vibe is horrible as you can tell from the response.

So glad I brought my seven year old here when she decided to cut her hair for a donation to Locks For Love. The staff was wonderful and supportive. My daughter felt like a star and LOVED the end result. We will definitely return when it grows out for another donation. Thanks again. Diane & Randee

I have had great wash ,cuts and blow dries with Branford Academy students. I’ve been going here for at least 6 years and only once had a bad cut and blow dry because the student did NOT listen to how I wanted it cut and styled. She insisted on a side part which I never wear and the blow dry came out with frizzinest and was damp underneath. The teacher DID come over and give her instructions but It was my fault for not speaking up. She also hadn’t been a student there very long. Upon getting ready to leave the teacher questioned me asking if that was what I had wanted. She just knew , because it didn’t look good at all. I just wanted to leave and go home and try to fix it , lol. But other than that experience the kids ( to me -students) really do want to get it right and take pride in their work! And staff does check in while they are working. I’ve had many compliments on my hair after leaving there and having gone to expensive salons when I was employed friends and family had NO IDEA I hadn’t been to the pricey salon that I’ve always gone to , until I told them! The place definitely needs upgrading and newer everything but that is not the fault of the teachers or students! It’s the owners fault who should upgrade and not be so cheap and selfish! Taryn did a great job trying to give my 8 year old what she wanted. It wasnt quite it, but she was so patient. When it grows out a little, well come back and have it reshaped. Thanks, Taryn!

The staff was so nice and helpful and braided my daughter hair and it is so beautiful. And soon getting my hair done soon so happy cant wait. Thank you to everyone.😀

The worst experience at this school, do NOT go here! One day we went from having six teachers to none just like that. The teachers and owner do not care. The owner only cares about getting your money, she is an absolute joke. Dont waste your time !

This hair school is awesome they work with you one on one I just got a highlight and I love it.

This school is not right. No instructors, no tools and not enough room to accommodate students.The staff are very rude and tacky people. The students are trying but without instructors you really cant ask much of them. Total rip off.
