I have been taking classes at BAMA for about a year now, learning Kali, Jeet Kun Do, and Silat under Sifu Deo. I can say without reservations that he is the best instructor Ive ever learned under- and Ive been training martial arts on and off for over twenty years. He communicates what were learning clearly, but he excels in having us learn by *doing* as well.At BAMA, there is no training session where you dont learn something. The advanced students review the basics with the beginners, and beginners get to challenge themselves when its time to go over advanced techniques.While training at BAMA definitely toughens you up, there is an emphasis placed on safety too. Sparring is done with adequate protective gear, drills are performed with clear distance and safe timing. You never feel pressured to do something youre uncomfortable with, and everyone meets you where youre at in terms of skill level.Its never boring at BAMA. Every Kali/JKD class has a diverse mix of weapons, empty hands, and grappling that ensures it never gets dry. And as if that werent enough, Sifu Deo has good connections, leading to bi-monthly seminars from experts with their own expertise to enrich our training experience.Pricing is *very* generous for the training you get. Its a monthly charge that beats the rates of every other school in town. I cant recommend this place enough.

Sifu Deo remains Incredibly proficient, professional. Phenomenal student to teacher input. If you wish to grow as a martial artist with others who share this passion, develop a new skill set or improve on an old one, This is the place to do it. Very highly recommend.

My kids have been going to this school since June, and I have to say I am very pleased. The instructors are very knowledgeable as well as patient. The pricing is very competitive and the class schedule is also very school/work friendly. I am enjoying watching my kids develop these skills that will stay with them their entire lives.

I have been taking the Kali/JKD program here and I have to say this is the most ego free martial arts center I have had the pleasure of attending (and I have tried out quite a few over the years). The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. All of the students I have taken with are sincere and focused on learning/ improving themselves which is really great! Here is the really BIG thing on top of the amazing staff and students: NO EXPENCIVE CONTRACTS OR OBLIGATIONS! No Well lets see what expensive plan is right for you the pricing is VERY reasonable, clear, and easy with no hidden fees (no testing fees, no extra membership fees, no CD/DVDs to purchase). You can purchase your own gear or (which I think everyone wants to do eventually) or borrow from the center. Truly a great place to learn!

With consistent and reliable instruction in Muay Thai Kickboxing and Inasanto lineage Kali, as well as a kids program, this is historically one of the best places for all ages to develop real fighting skills in Kitsap.
