This is the worst dance studio in the Brentwood/ Oakley / Antioch area! They have a tiny studio with only one dance floor. The parent viewing area is either outside or in the studio office which you have to cross the Dancefloor to get to. The studio office is so small that it only fits 4-5 parents at a time. Their accounting system is non-existent. They do not have any type of auto-pay system nor do they accept credit cards nor do you ever receive a receipt or statement of account. In the three years that we attended this studio, I never knew what I was paying for! The studio owners are constantly telling you when their rent is due and that your tuition has to be paid before they can pay their rent. As though their entire months rent is solely dependent on each individuals tuition. Theres absolutely no financial planning on their end . It is apparent that they operate month to month Im assuming barely making it by. After three years, we were asked by the studio owners for my daughter to be on a mini competition team they were starting. We agreed, we were then hit with a $400 bill for items required to purchase for the team. As well as a list of items that we were required to purchase ourselves outside of the studio totaling almost $300. We sucked it up, and decided to do it anyway. We were informed at the beginning of the Season that all students were required to attend every practice. Reasonable. However, this did not seem to be the case for every student! As one student in particular only attended two to three classes in the entire season that we were there. The parents started to have concerns regarding the student missing so many classes & our team being unprepared. We decided to approach the studio owners. We were immediately shut down and informed that we were not allowed to talk to each other about our concerns nor were we allowed to bring our concerns to the studio owners. We were not allowed to call meetings. Seriously! They actually discouraged us from talking to each other. Absolutely ridiculous. After we attempted to speak with the studio owners and the dance instructor, each parent on the team was called that evening by the other Studio owner and was berated and informed that trying to speak with a dance instructor (who was also a studio owner) regarding our concerns was considered bullying behavior and would not be tolerated! Are you freaking kidding me! After the environment had become so hostile, I decided to take my daughter and leave the studio . We had yet to receive any of the items that we had paid $400.00 for... When we requested our money back, they initially refused telling us you will never see that money! I actually had to threaten legal recourse in order to be refunded what I had paid. This studio is completely unprofessional and immature. Would not recommend for any age level!!
