I have been taking lessons with Lucinda at Knoll Farm for the past year and a half and have had a wonderful experience! When I first came to Knoll Farm, I was a bit nervous as I had never taken lessons before, but was so inspired to ride. The process to schedule was easy, and after meeting Lucinda, I was way more at ease. She has been kind, patient, and very knowledgeable which has helped me gain skills and confidence in my riding. I have gone from being so beginner that I had to learn how to hold the reins properly, to cantering and doing (very small) jumps! The staff there are also very friendly and welcoming and it is clear that they take care of their horses! Would definitely recommend Knoll Farm!

I have been riding at Knoll Farm for over a decade now, starting as a teenager, and continuing to ride now as an adult. Ive had the pleasure of working with and learning from almost every one of the patient, professional and incredible trainers at the riding school. I have ridden or worked with most, if not all, of the exceptional school horses, each unique and lovely in their own ways. I can easily say that I have come to know Knoll as my second home. Knoll farm is my favorite place on Long Island ! They have great horses and very friendly stuff ! Instructors are super nice and focused on their students during the lesson! You learn how to tuck and groom the horses which is awesome you build special connections and you can get really comfortable around the horses specially for beginners like me ;) Definitely recommend to everyone! If you thinking about horseback riding Knoll Farm is the best on Long Island !!

I have had the opportunity to learn from Andrea for about 2 months now ( unfortunately Covid has slowed my learning curve down some!)However, the experience so far has been truly fantastic! The barn itself is impeccably clean, the barn help beyond super friendly and the lessons with Andrea truly incredible! Not only is she super knowledgeable, but she takes her time explaining the lesson of the day and has such an amazing way about her! I highly recommend this barn to everyone, especially a relatively new rider like myself!

Andrea is an amazing trainer and within a few lessons I could feel myself improving my seat and aids! So happy to have found this place - and so close to NYC too!

First and foremost the staff and other riders were all kind as can be. Andrea was excellent, patient and very informative. This was not my first time on a horse but my first time doing an instructional lesson and it made a world of difference. I was indifferent about riding before my lesson at knoll farm, now I feel like its something I will enjoy as time goes on. Definitely reccomend this place to anyone who does or wants to learn to ride.

This barn is the BEST for any level rider. The trainers are all so friendly and willing to help you with anything you need. The horses are well taken care of and their well being is so important to those who work there. The farm is a drama free place to make new friends and have a great time with horses.

Ive been riding there for 7 years. The grounds and facilities are beautiful, the trainers are friendly, encouraging, expert and dedicated. The horses are well cared for and a joy to ride. I was a beginner when I arrived and I can say that my riding has improved immensely. The horses and the whole staff at Knoll are wonderful.

My daughter switched to Knoll Farms from another barn after riding there for a couple of years. Within a few weeks she had learned so much it amazed me. They have progressed her riding in leaps and bounds. She loves the school horses and it’s obvious these horses are cared about.

I am beyond satisfied with my experience at Knoll Farm. The facility is incredible with huge rings, grass fields, and clean, spacey barns. The horses are so well cared for, and they all seem so happy and healthy. It is a very professional, relaxing place, and its perfect for riders of any level.

I have been riding here for 6 years and it has been the best barn I have been to on long island. The trainers are awesome and make you feel like family. Theres are many outdoor rings as well as an indoor one.

Its an excellent place that cares for their horses, instruct their riders flawlessly, and its so good for beginners!

I started riding again last year after a 10 year break and Im very happy to have found Knoll Farm. The school horses are well cared for and well trained. The farm is easily accessible from NYC by train (the farm is just across the train station), and even experienced riders will learn a lot from the Knoll Farm trainers and school horses.

I began riding at Knoll Farm again after a 20 year hiatus. The barns and horses are really clean and well maintained. My instructor is Andrea Mercier. Shes great. She focuses on keeping me safe while at the same time letting me have fun. Shes genuinely happy when I ride well and when I show improvement. She carefully chooses horses for me to ride that challenge me to do better, but that im safe on. Everyone who works at the stable has been friendly and professional from the grooms to the advanced instructors. Its a great place to learn to ride or to hone your skills.

Knoll Farm is a fantastic farm. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. The school horses are incredible and all very sweet.

Andrea & Krissy are 😻 They both are amazing teachers who just make your time riding so fun. They know what theyre doing ... Ive rode at many places before but nothing like knoll. My last barn I was months just trotting, came to knoll and learned the proper techniques & only a month in Im cantering cavalettis & only getting better! Def recommend this barn to anyone wanting to learn how to ride the RIGHT way. 🐎😊❤️

Never thought my daughter would be the rider she is today and it is all because of the great training she received at Knoll Farm with Andrea Mercier. This is a great place to ride with wonderful people and horses.

He Hidden Jewel of Long Islands Equestrian establishments, Knoll Farm is an equestrians dream-come-true. Outstanding facilites include 5 barns, multiple outdoor rings (even a grass ring, 2 jump rings and 1 dressage ring), an impressive indoor arena with mirrors, plenty of grass turnouts, VERY competent staff and instructors, in addition to HAPPY horses! The staff embraces everyone and is happy to help you in any way. They take a personal interest in helping you achieve your goals. They give the horses EXCELLENT care! This is the only learning center/boarding facility that turns their horses out 7 days a week, feeds 3x daily and has night checks. They are diligent about even turning out their school horses to pasteur. This is a 5 star facility hands-down! If your looking to have your child compete, their equestrian team offers many events. Check out their website calendar and that will give you an idea. They can meet your needs as a student, boarder, or just someone who is looking to lease or purchase a horse. They can bring you or your child to the highest level of horsemanship. Worth every penny and minute of your time!

Knoll Farm on Long Island has a wonderful history and is still fondly remembered and highly regarded by the dressage riders whom had trained with Anne Gribbons and bought Swedish Warmblood horses bred at Knoll Farm, from Anne and David. Knoll has also gained a good reputation as a Hunter/Jumper barn since it was bought by the Mercier family in 2001, their daughter Andrea, a Grand Prix Dressage rider having been a protege` of Annes. There are 4 dressage and 4 hunter/jumper trainers. 4 outdoor arenas and an indoor provides ample space on weekends especially, when there are dressage, jumpers and beginners all requiring space! Several paddocks on the 17 acre farm provides turn-out for the boarders and school horses with huge trees scattered on the property. In spring and summer a pretty flower garden makes the way to the outdoor arenas very cheerful. The barn manager and all the staff are very pleasant, in the 8 years I have been training with Andrea Mercier, it is a happy barn to go to.
