If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. I used to go here before finding a better place. First of all $20 for an hour is ridiculous. Secondly they overprice literally everything. For example I bought a Century Arms C308 and was told century arms is a reputable good brand which is not true whatsoever. I paid a good $300 over what they go for. Secondly I had purchased an AR15 from a different gun shop had brass and copper bullets no steel at all and had to purchase a box to shoot. The ammo was $1.50 per round of .556. You cannot say that it is reasonable with the pandemic because I went somewhere else and ammo was closer to .60 a round of the exact same brand at the exact same timeframe. There are some educated people that work there but it’s a ripoff for sure. I also don’t understand why they can’t inspect ammo with a magnet. It only takes 5 seconds out of their time to do so but because of lazy workers at the other location creating a fire due to a lack of checking ammo they implemented it. The range I go to even talks bad about this place and they are rated top in St. Louis. I’ve never had a bad experience there like I’ve had here.

I went in seeking employment. While I was in line, before anyone knew what I was there for, one of the employees said to me Give us a good review because people whove never been here go on Google and say we suck. I got an application and spoke with someone to find out the qualifications for the position, which I was not unqualified for.. told to bring app back the following day and when I did it was like I was speaking to a different person entirely. I was expecting some type of informal pre-interview at least. A couple questions, something. There were multiple employees that were just standing around and no customers to help; decibel didnt appear to be busy. With that, barely two words were spoken to me by the same person who told me to come back. Completely hot and cold. Havent heard back about the job. When Ileft with the application, it felt very promising and my hopes were high. When I left after returning, I couldnt have felt more deflated and knew I wasted my time. Its really disappointing. I need a job, but I really wanted this job. Maybe I dodged a bullet, maybe Metro lost out on a really good employee.

The staff over at Metro are always very helpful. I have been many times to shoot and they are always helpful with recommending ones that I should try based off my preferences. Today with Jimmy’s help, I was able to purchase my own. He was very helpful, funny and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone.

They were Excellent!!!! I love this place! Everyone was so helpful, knowledgeable and took the extra time to explain questions my fiancé & I had. We will definitely be becoming members in the near future!

I walked into Metro feeling slightly overwhelmed and intimidated. I went by myself, and being a woman, its always a little scary walking into a male dominated area. I carry regularly, but I had not purchased my own gun previously. (It was gifted to me) I knew the guns that I wanted to handle, and Steve was SO helpful. I came in 30 minutes before closing and I wasnt rushed at all, he pulled out every single gun I asked to try, (and there were quite a few), and answered every question I had. I wasnt completely set on purchasing right then and there initially, but Steve made it so effortless and easy that I ended up finding one I loved. I will definitely be back soon and will be recommending Metro to everyone! Thanks again!

The staff seemed nice, they left me alone while I looked around and when I did walk up to them they helped me out 👍the store was very clean and had plenty of inventory, very nice selection 👍the one think I dislike and I do not put up with is price gouging, don’t get me wrong half the items there seemed to have decent prices, but everything I wanted had three times mark up. Just unacceptable for me. I won’t be buying anything from there ever, I just don’t put up with price gouging from anyone or anyplace. I don’t purchase food in airports, parks, ect…or items at stores that contribute to the price gouging ways.

If you are from the St. Louis area, you know this place price gouges like no other. Even pre-covid... my family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers all know your going to pay $200-600 more for any firearm verse any other local store. Thats probably why they have a good selection, because if you drive 5-15 minutes to Afton or St. Peters, youll save $200-400 for the same thing (examples I personally witnessed were Sig Legions at $1800 when $1500 everywhere else, Colt Python 2020 $2300 when $1900 everywhere else, and Benelli M4 $2500 when $1800 elsewhere). On a positive note, the sales staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

My overall first impression is I didnt like the vibe.Sales staff was helpful. I asked a few questions and I didnt like the answers. Specifically... I was told I could not shoot my AR-15 suppressed in their range. Lol. What? Really! Prices were 20% higher than Academy Sports And Rural King. Im not going back anytime soon .

When me and by wife got there they were extremely cool they made sure that we had everything we needed and they took care of us I recommend this place 1000% extremely nice customer service

Ive came in multiple times. Bought 4 separate firearms on different occasions. And have never had a bad experience here. The customer service is great and every employee has always gone above and beyond to help out... Even when theyre busy they dont rush you out the door or anything like that. Brad from gunsmithing installed a scope on my AR and in the process gave me all sorts of tips and pointers too. Like seriously I cant say enough about this place. Highly recommended!!!

#1 Everything is overpriced#2 told me I couldnt shoot my rifle in his range because he thought it had an illegal attachment which he found out it didnt and was even more mad as a result. I felt I got treated as a nobody at my stay

Spending quality family time at the gun range before the holidays.

Went into Metro to purchase reloading supplies, my salesman was polite and helpful making a substantial purchase.After reviewing what I purchased I tried to change one item I was told that they would have to refund the item and with that I responded that I would come back.I went back and talked with the same salesman he went to his supervisor to try and meet my request and the supervisor was rude and insulting stating that I may have contaminated the item and under federal law that he was unable to return this item. I simple stated why I was not informed of this at the time of purchase.I then decided to cancel my new purchase and left to NEVER return.There are Lots of reputable places.I do not recommend this store.One star is two high.

They will lie to you. You need to know what you are buying and do not ask them for recommendations. They told a powder would work for my specific caliber when they know it would not. All sales are final so make sure you know what you need before going into the store

The range is in good shape and the staff are pretty friendly depending on who you deal with. However, this is the biggest rip off on ammo I have seen in a bit. If you want better prices not only on range time but defensive ammo go out to the range past St. Charles W on I-70. You wallet will thank you.

I was told by the owner (very adamantly) how I was NOT allowed to sell a certain item & how I would be committing a felony if I did. I was terrified. Come to find out... ABSOLUTELY FALSE! If you dont actually know laws then why preach them to customers like you do???Also, like many other gun shops, the staff acts like you are an inconvenience to them because you dont know EVERYTHING about firearms. Im a novice & if I am looking for some info I go where the professionals are to ask & find out. I guess that is not ok here. I will never go back.P.s. -3 other local shops told me the opposite of this gentleman & they also offered to look at what I had to help me. Even though the owner here told me nobody will even look at that for you. Its too much of a liability. I guess he just didnt know HOW to help. I walk in , get greeted with “wait over there please! “ .. 10 minutes pass by I’m still standing at the door , the store limit is 9 due to COVID, there’s literally 3 people in the store ! Called last night to ask if they had a product in stock and I was told it was. I showed up in the morning at opening and was told no they do not have that product in stock. It happens..no big deal.I then went down to the gun range for some target practice with my own ammunition since I was told I could buy one box to take home. At the end of that I asked to buy a box of ammunition but they said I could only use that at their range even though upstairs they said I could buy one box to take with me.So basically I was told a product was available then when I get there its not, I was told I could buy ammunition to take home so I used my own then when I tried to buy some I was told I could not. What a rip off. Never again.

Today I witnessed some customers receive poor and unprofessional service from the employees. This was disturbing, considering that there were other customers who didn’t receive that unprofessionalism. Hopefully demographics wasn’t the cause. There’s other places that will value you and your patronage.

Great customer service and really easy folks to talk to and be open about what you want from a firearm. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and not pushy.Big shout out to Ryan for going above and beyond. Talking me through a couple different pistols and even letting me handle his own weapon that there was no display model for.

Absolutely a great place to shoot, the staff are very friendly and knowledgable. my only suggestion if you plan to go there is to be patient with the staff if they are busy. I definitely enjoy visiting MSS to browse, purchase of just learn about firearms without feeling pressured to buy.

Owner asked me to do work on his website. Did quite a few updates and fixes on several pages. He never paid.

I went to Cables to buy a new 357. So I pull a number and waited bout 20 minutes before it was my turn. The salesperson pulled out a 357 when I was trying to ask a question about the different between the two different makes the salesperson was not able to tell me anything . So I went to Metro Shooting they were able to pull out two different 357 and point out what different was about the two. The best part about Metro Shooting I was able to go on the shooting range and try out both gun. I will buy all of my guns form now on. Thank you, Metro shooting Supplies.

My first experiences at Metro have been fantastic. I bought a handgun from them and got the 1 year free membership about a month ago, and have been back weekly to use the range since then. The range is excellent, their prices are very reasonable, and Ive never had to wait. Every time Ive been there Ive been greeted with a smile and a thank you on my way out. I highly recommend checking them out, its a group of highly experienced guys who run a top notch range. I expect Ill be a customer for years to come.

Cant say enough good things about this store. The range is clean and well kept. The upstairs displays are well stocked and a really large variety to choose from. Even if you want to walk around and just window shop, enjoyable experience. Jason is who we met first and my wife and I truly enjoyed his level of customer service and just making you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. Ryan is the store manager and hes fantastic too. Really great place. Well priced too!! Its a tad bit of a drive to get there but we wont be going anywhere else from now on. Well done!

Went in with my wife and my son and daughter n law and we had a GREAT!!! time everyone was knowledgeable about the different types of firearms good people at Metro.

The place is awesome the underhanded thimgs they do is the issue. Went with friends to purchase a gun, the friend paid for the gun before the background check was even completed. He was told that if he didnt hear from them by a certain date then he could just come fet his gun. Where I obtained my firearm the background check was done first. We went to their gu. Range which is an awesome set up again unhanded things happened, we were told the rules and informed that if we were to hit any of certaun items there would be a charge, what they dont have advertised is that youre charged each time you hit the same item. Ex: the hanger thats holding the targets. Its stated and posted that its 10 dollars if you hit it, but its not posted in the lane or at the counter that its 10 dollars for each hit. If they make that more clear then people wouldnt feel cheated out of money.

My girlfriend and I went today to look for a gun for her. We were immediately greeted and helped by Steve King. Not only did he give her instructions on handling the gun, but he showed us different options. We were able to go rent and shoot the same model gun at the range downstairs before we purchased it. She was very satisfied with her purchase and was extremely impressed with Steves customer service and knowledge. Thank you again Steve!

I go to the range every few months and it is always a great experience. They have the largest selection Ive ever seen and they are super knowledgeable. They wont try to sell you a gun thats not right for you. As far as the range goes, its very nice and the atmosphere is awesome. Some people complain about the customer service but what do you expect? They are there to keep you and everyone else safe. They are polite but stern about the rules. If you dont like them, go somewhere else. I will be returning for years to come.

Went to Metro Shooting Range for the first time this evening. Truly enjoyable. Gentlemen operating the range and retail area were very friendly and helpful. The range was nice and we had a great time. Looking forward to returning and shooting again. Also did some window shopping as they have several cases and displays of firearms, supplies, and other equipment. Very knowledgeable gentlemen that helped us out. Thinking about a membership as it sounds like a pretty great deal. If you are looking for a range to try out, give this location a stop in, youll be glad you did. The plus side was the range is heated!

This is a beautiful store and maybe the best selection of firearms in the area. There were also enough employees to assist and they are very knowledgeable. They dont sell low end firearms so dont go in there asking for a $250 gun. I think the low end S&W can be had for around $375, maybe a bit less. Plus you get the one year membership, which is an absolute deal at the discounted range rate of $6.00 and hour plus two guests at the same rate. Ive purchased several firearms there and love looking around the store at all the extras. I hate going into stores and not seeing any quality products especially cheap holsters that most stores seem to stock their shelves with. Ive seen several celebrities in the shop so the word must be getting out about the place. If you dont know anything about firearms, theyll give you solid advice and several recommendations. Going to a gun shop, I thought would be intimidating, this being my first time and all, but I was immediately met with warm welcomings by Jim who is the one who took care of me. He was very informative and patient, answering all of my questions while I discussed which gun to buy with my dad over the phone. Between him, Ryan and others, every question was answered with patience and care. I really liked Ryans down to earth and out going personality.I never felt alone in making a decision.These guys know their guns and will help you every step of the way.Overall, my experience was very pleasant and informative.The process didnt take long, just make sure your drivers license has the right address on it. My minor set back🤦🏾‍♀️. On Saturday March 25th my wife and I and went to a gun supplier to purchase a gun for her. They were very rude, with a poor disposition and unprofessional. They said wife wife could come in but not me (I was buying her a gun). I remember coming to metro a while back with my son to look at some rifles and remember to type of customer service that we receive then.So after my wife and I left this rude and very unprofessional establishment (without a purchase) we came to metro shooting supplies in Bridgeton. We worked with Steve who not only made sure that the weapon we were purchasing for my wife was comfortable for her to handle and use but also gave her all the information she needed to understand the purchase. Even though they were very busy at the time and under the order of 10 people in the building at one time Steve still gave us not only his undivided attention but the upmost respect and great customer service, Metro Shooting Supplies in Bridgeton you have gained a customer and friend for life.

I went in wanting to make a purchase and get some shots in at the range, the owner is very rude, arrogant and very unprofessional. Seem quite racist, he should treat people how he wants to be treated especially customers because thats where you get your money from. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Used to go to this place all the time, then their belleville location temporarily closed. So then I started going to this location, was able to go to the range a few time, but since june, there was always some reason that it was closed, a terrible waste of time!

Personable staff, excellent range. Safe environment with attentive range officer on duty and video monitoring. I have purchased firearms for reasonable price - close to retail but the free range membership is easily worth the savings youd see elsewhere. Ammo is expensive but again - retail price. I appreciate feeling welcome, no question is too stupid to ask, and having a brick and mortar store/range near my home is priceless. I have read other reviews and in one case witnessed a situation that resulted in a negative review. My observation was that the store staff members were very calm and accommodating but the customer was being unreasonable and disruptive.

I purchased a S&W 40c from Metro. I have never been treated so well in my life. John Stephenson educated me on my firearm and made me feel appreciated. Plus I received a 1 year free range membership. Nobody can beat that deal. I will be purchasing my firearms here from now on. Thanks Guys!

Good selection, highest prices possible. Cant bring your own rifle ammo cause their backstop must be made of cardboard, then they price gouge you on their ammunition. Theres no air conditioning on their indoor range, its like an oven.

Im sorry to hear all the bad experiences with other reviews because I had a great experience. The staff was very knowledgeable with firearms. I just got into guns and they helped me with a wide variety of pistols and led me to some that works best for me. They took their time explaining to me every line on paperwork and even helped me in the range which was my first time also. They went over every single gun and let me feel which ones fit best in my hand. Didnt take long for the background for me on the state. I had to come back for the federal but they explained all I needed to know and kept their word with when I could pick my gun up. I had a great experience and such a good one for my first time. Would recommend all day!!! CMG

I called in advance to ask is I could observe at the range while my wife tested a new trigger on her pistol. When we arrived, we entered the range. The rangermaster denied me to observe. He called Steve, the owner. Ne also refused to let me enter.I walked upstairs and talked to the guy who gave me permission to observe. He apologized. It wasnt his fault. He was a new hire. But Steve could have given me a break this time. My wife and I wo t br shooting at Metro anymore.

Price gouging Like never seen before.$40 for a box of 20 556 ammo that i found out Top gun has for $15.99. $60 for a box of 50 9MM. Not going back here for sure.

I took a gun class with Steve and he was GREAT!!!!! Having never even touched firearm in my life I walked out feeling comfortable and like I had learned a ton. Steve was smooth, knowledgeable and super encouraging. I would definitely recommend his class.

Only wlcomeing faces are those upstairs at the counter. The few times I’ve been here I’ve been greeted by guys who don’t seem to care to make an experience for customers. They’ll sit back and let you make a non safety error and just charge you for later with no warning. It has 3 stars for a reason. Better off taking a trip down to south county or gateway gun club to spend your money and free time

This place is Moooney Huuuuungry! Their charges and policies are ridiculous! I don’t know how they stay in the market. I guess it’s due to people not knowing we’re the real options are.

They have a great selection and professional appearance. Well organized and clean. They have a good selection of new guns and gear, but very little in the used department. Their prices are pretty high. The range is clean and very modern and nice. Overall, a great place for beginners or to introduce newbies to the sport.

Overall the store and range itself is nice with a good selection of supplies and the employees were helpful.. but slightly rude by the way they conduct themselves with other customers. I wasnt personally treated that way. But i feel like If I would have just been looking, or if they thought I wasnt going to make a purchase, i would have been rushed out or shunned away!!

I have great experiences when shopping to purchase a firearm (before they get your money). Unfortunately, my time at the range has been consistently horrible. The staff there (typically the same guy) goes out of their way to be rude. It really sours the entire location.

Worst time I ever had at a shooting range! I just moved out in this area so I thought I should try out the nearest shooting range. When I walked in I could tell by the looks on this guys face we would have a bad time. An employee by the name of “ Steve “ tried to charged me, my brother And his friend 10 more dollars on everything we bought for no reason, lied to us and tried to make us believe we shot the the ceiling and other props you have. Then another guy rung us up and the price dropped 60 dollars. Then when we confronted “ Steve “ he yells out “ let me know if you wanna go”

I was so excited that a new range was opening close to my home, I couldnt wait to visit and shoot. I bought in early with a range membership. What a disappointment Metro Shooting Supplies has been. Rude customer service. I dont mean you have to ask for help rude, I mean RUDE !! Employee Dan Madrid being the best example of how not to treat customers. Rude at the counter, even more rude at the range, and high prices to boot. Why does Metro have a score of 18 out of 30 and Top Gun has a 28 on google reviews? Top Gun must have trained their employees, or at least hired more carefully.Ive been shooting for 20 years. I dont need my hand held, or expect to waste anyones time at the counter asking to hold every gun in the case. I understand that they are there to profit. This kind of customer service and word of mouth is what will run an otherwise good business into the ground.I have had good service from the gunsmith there. Very friendly and seems to do very nice work. I think his name was Kent, and I have recommended him to several people.All in all, I think its a shame that this location is being run in this manor. I can only assume that the employee attitudes are a reflection of the owners attitudes.I wish them well, but doubt that success is in their future. I hope Im wrong. It wouldnt be too hard to improve from where they stand now.Treat your customers with some level of respect and you will get it in return.Thanks

I Just left this store only to be met by sales rep who rushed me into the store not very helpful at all. I felt disappointed,disrespected and a waste of my time coming here.
