I wouldn’t even given it a one star, but that was the only way I could leave this review. This is the WORST!!!! School district. In the whole state of Colorado. The bulling started when my daughter was in fifth grade at Henderson. The administration (principal and vice principal) didn’t want to punish the one that was causing the problem, so they made my daughter out to be the problem and also with them going onto 6th grade that wasn’t there problem anymore. Thank god covid happened so my daughter could relax for a few. Then when it started back up again at Stewart. The “new principal and vice principal” were to preoccupied on letting everyone know that the got a pay raise to let all of this start over again. Now it has come to the best decision (and yours too) to remove my daughter from this horrible school district.

The 4 day weeks have proven to be educationally effective and my kids love it! I also love the staff over at Reunion Elementary.

The last two years have been so frustrating.

Me and my family have moved to Brighton and have been here for 6 months. In that time I have taken my son to his first day of preschool. I have picked him up multiple times from school. Have had to go through the school a couple of times to pick him up. Never once was i asked to provide ID to enter the school. It wasnt until his first Christmas program that it came up that i was asked. It was at that time I was told I wouldnt be allowed to enter the school. My wife and I had asked why and was only told they didnt know and told my wife that if I stay for the program the cops would be called. It wasnt until 1-19-19 when my wife and I meet with the school principal that we were told it was because i have a criminal past. Even though its over 8 years old I cannot attend any events that he has at school. I told the principal that my son is 4yrs old and I have a daughter that is 2yrs old and that they are going to have a long future in school since we are buying a house here. I was told that i can drop them off and pick them up but will not be able to go into the school. So wanting to be involved in my childrens school life and future. I am told that it cant happened. So not having any other option but to pull my child from the school and home school them. I understand the school is wanting to keep the safety and security for the children but keeping a parent from being in the childs school life is a very poor way of showing the school is thinking about the whole picture. When the parent hasnt had any new convictions or has showed they dont pose a threat. There shouldnt be any reason to keep the parent out of the childs schooling. For the Brighton school system there is no personal connection with the parents and teachers here. All I see from the schools here are a bunch of robots that only follow what they are programed to say or do and cant make decisions on their own. Being new to the area and my child to the school system here. I will be telling everyone I know and talk to how the schools are here. They dont make you feel welcomed or give you assurance that is needed to know you are sending your children to a good school. My wife and I are very outspoken and will be spreading the news on how little this school cares for the students and the involvement of the parents. All we asked for was for me to be able to be there for my childrens school activities but was only meet with cold negative results. If this is how the Brighton school system works then i believe that anyone that is thinking of bringing their children here deserve to know before they have to find out the hard way like we did.

I think the 27j schools are the best schools i was in preschool through 5th grade at west ridge elementary and now im in adams 12 i really prefer 27j all my friends

Its only been three days at this school and already have so many issues. One it took four days to get her registered because they kept needing something else for proof of address which I have only moved here just last week. Had called the district to get it done quick so my daughter wouldnt miss a whole week. But what they told me to do was apparently wrong because they required two more things and one had to even be notarized. Finally get her in and they dont have ac so she gets to be in a hot classroom with it in the 90s outside, which doesnt get fixed until end of the day Wednesday. So then today I drop her off at school at 7:50 (on time), 8:30 I get a call about her being absent freaked out because I watch her go thru the doors everyday before I even start to pull away. Called the school immediately the lady that answers when I tell her when I dropped her off even says oh I even seen her come thru the doors checks and says yes she is here so I will mark her tardy hold up why she is on time. So after I get that figured out about 10-20 mins later I get another phone call about her being absent again. Call the district about my concerns for my daughters safety at this school all they can do is transfer me to the principal of my daughters school. Really not sure about my daughter attending this school, thinking on another school.

I recommend a 0 day school week and a full refund of all the money tax payers pay into this school district.

So I am a mother of an 8th grade student and I am so angry with the way my daughters 3 years are ending there.My daughter has applied herself more this year then all 3 of the years put together and although she struggled she gave it her all and now she was told today that not only can she not participate in the elitches field trip (which I totally understand) but she was told because she had 3 Ds that she wasnt aware of until this week which made it to late to do anything about. That she would also not be participating in the continuation with the rest of her 8th grade class!I am so angry and how humiliating for a 14 year old child to have to endure in such a critical and impressionable time in her life!I dont know where to go from here. I think I am going to email the superintendent of 27j school district because this is wrong for any of our children to deal with! All Im saying is that she is continuing on to the 9th grade so why would she be ineligible to participate in her continuation. Am I overreacting?

This is honestly the worst time for school having a 4 day school week and getting out of 4 30 is terrible for people with afterschool activities and all for what so teachers can have time to prep and have a clean schedule look around you other school districts have way more students than we have at the high schools or the elementary schools they have a 5 day schedule go in at 7 come out at 2:30 Or 3:30 but now at 4 thats just ridiculous you guys cant see other school schedules and go off of that because in all reality this is just plain stupid and a waste of time.

Very incompetent drivers left my son at 4 years old at the wrong bus stop in a rainstorm now the next week the bus driver shows up 10 minutes early and leaves all the kids I dont know what kind of hiring practices they have but they obviously arent good ones
