This place is amazing! It has taught my daughter so much. The lessons relate not only to martial arts, but to everyday life. Mr. Hoy makes the classes fun and tailors them to the childrens specific abilities. My daughter is 8 and has only been there a few months but her confidence has skyrocketed! i have also noticed more respect, and focus within her schoolwork. There are not just childrens classes, but classes for EVERYONE. All of the staff is respectful, helpful, and they make everything fun. I HIGHLY recommend Hoys Martial Arts!!

Chris runs an outstanding school at Hoys Martial Arts Academy. There are many great instructors to go along with the variety of classes for both kids and adults. I especially enjoy the kids programs that help them learn valuable self-defense/bully-proof skills, but also great everyday life skills such as confidence and compassion. I highly recommended Hoys as an exceptional source of martial arts and fitness training.

I have known and trained with Chris Hoy since the 90’s. I have watched him grow into an extremely disciplined martial arts instructor and business owner.Chris has a tenacious admiration and love for martial arts, and advancing the mind and body of both children and adults. Hoy’s Martial Arts holds to a core set of values and keeps them grounded and unwilling to ride on the gimmicks and trends that some other schools fall prey to in order to generate an extra dollar.Chris Hoy has brought together programs and training methods compiled from different martial arts systems from around the world including Kali, Silat, Tae Kwon Do, and Jui Jitsu, bringing you a solid MMA program. His love for children and mentoring also brings to the table an excellent program for children of all ages. You will not be disappointed.

We started our son Declan in the 4 yo class last year and he has since moved up to the 5/6yo class. I cant say enough about the school! Its been an adjustment for him to get used to having a baby brother and this has taught himfocus, patience, and built on the respect we are teaching him at home! He loves Chris Hoy and really thrives on the class recognition!

My son has been attending Hoys Martial Arts for 2 years now. Mr. Hoy uses martial arts to teach children many different life skills. Not only has he learned many different self-defense techniques but he has also learned how to be a respectful, patient, and courteous young man. It is a positive reinforcement of all the things we try and teach our children at home. I feel it is a great experience for children of all ages.

I have been training at Hoys Martial Arts Academy for about 6-7 years now. I have grown not only physically, but mentally as well. The training offered there prepares a person for a stand up fight, but also if the fight goes to the ground. The self-defense taught is VERY practical for what a person will encounter in the world. The kids classes are A++++. My kids have attended there for over 5 years and I have seen them grow leaps and bounds. Not only physically, but mentally as well. Training there has given my kids the confidence to stand up to bullys and defend themselves. In fact, my oldest son has had to use what he has learned. I am grateful for all the work Chris Hoy and his staff has put into the school.

Our children have attended Hoys for almost 5 years. Class has helped our 7 year old son become more confident and out going. We like how Mr Hoy focuses kids classes on self defense. This will help our children in the real world as they grow older especially our daughter. Mr Hoy keeps the kids class fun but still covers serious topics such as bullies and controls the class without yelling and making children strive for success. Our children cant wait for jui jitsu class and even won a medal at a state competition. The adult classes are fun as well. Highly recommended!!!!

Hoys martial arts is the best place for adults and kids to train martial arts in the area. They offer training in Filipino Kali, Indonesian Silat, Bruce Lees Jeet Kune Do, and they also have an outstanding BJJ program.. the kids programs are outstanding, and there is a path of progression for them to attain the skills necessary to attend the adult classes. Everyone knows the benefits of training martial arts.. the key difference is WHERE you train, and HOW you train. Sifu Chris Hoy is an outstanding teacher, and an even better man. I give Hoys my highest recommendation, and wont train anywhere else. - Tom Chuna

I began taking the adult Brazilian Jiu-jitsu classes in September last year, and its been a transformative experience. I have mild cerebral palsy and the BJJ classes have done wonders for my physical mobility as well as my personal self confidence, in addition to providing a solid self defense foundation. Mr Hoy provides a safe and supportive training environment. He has helped me realize capability I didnt know was possible. Great school even better people.

After leaving the Washington D.C. area and training Jiu Jitsu at the Pedro Sauer Academy, I was referred to HOYS Martial Arts Academy and found the level of training to be outstanding. My Son and Daughter also attend Chris Hoys Academy and love the individual attention and quality instruction from Chris and Angelo Vega, one of the head instructors. They really make you feel like part of the family. The best Jiu Jitsu Academy in the area in my opinion.
