I am extremely happy with TFC. Very friendly and welcoming from the start. There are many skilled and vetted martial artists to learn from here. A healthy balance of fun and discipline. Professor Piet Wilhelm is very tough, and will push you to your absolute limits; He is also one of the kindest human beings alive. Professor Chris Hutchison is very skilled and technique oriented; He will help fine tune your skills to the sharpest edge. My time here the last 4 months has had tremendous positive effect on my body, mind, and soul. I hope that one day I earn my place in their family and be considered a brother. OSS!

I travel to gyms all over the country. Triton Fight Center ranks amongst the best Ive ever experienced. The environment was very casual yet respectful. The instructors were very courteous and provided great insight while teaching. The rolls that followed were challenging, yet fun. professor Piet has built a wonderful academy that I wouldnt hesitate to recommend to anyone. Being a Marine, Piet welcomes military and LEOs with open arms, and uses his experiences in the Corps to build an environment where learning is priority #1 all the while building friendships. If you are a grappler and in the Tulsa area...check Triton out.

Our 10-year-old son started at Triton 2.5 months ago and has been absolutely hooked. He has always been on the bigger side, was never very athletic and was considered obese by the weight charts. But he has went to every practice possible, changed his diet to meet the goals for the AGF tournament and now he is making continuous conscious decisions about his food! Jujitsu has motivated him to make these changes for himself. He’s lost nearly 10 lbs since starting. Unlike many other places, I love how there are numerous instructors at each class and how much the kids are kept active and not standing around a lot. They think of creative ways to engage the kids and have them getting good (and fun) cardio the whole time. You should have seen his face light up when I showed him his before and after picture this morning. He has truly impressed himself and now understands hard work and sacrifice can pay off, and his self confidence has soared. I am so very happy and proud of him. Thank you for having such a great kids program - this experience has changed his life forever! ❤️

When I am in Tulsa, I train at Triton. The facility is incredible in terms of size, layout, and cleanliness. The class schedule is beyond accommodating; if you want/need to train, you can make one of their classes work. The students are numerous, skilled, eager to learn, and incredibly respectful. This is, unfortunately, not always the case when you are an unknown drop-in from out-of-town, but after interacting and rolling with the head instructor, Piet Wilhelm, on numerous occasions, it is clear the polite and respectfully intense training attitude flows from the top down. When in Tulsa, train at Triton.

I Have been to Triton on a couple of occasions. In my opinion the facility was exceedingly nice and very clean. In general the students attending the gym were also nice and welcoming for the most part. The problem was the instructor. The instructor clearly needs to address how he interacts with new people coming to the gym for the first time because he seemed very unwelcoming and as if a new student didnt matter. Their slogan Train Hard or Go Home kind of says it all. I have seen the instructor poke fun at new people trying to get into martial arts on several occasions. I have trained at several other gyms throughout the years and have NEVER seen this kind of treatment by an instructor that I was otherwise about to give my money to. Above all Triton is a great facility, clearly the best in Tulsa, and the level of skill in this gym is on another level compared to other gyms in Tulsa. But all of this means nothing if you cannot even be respected coming in as a new member. I have learned throughout the years from training that respect is an absolute core value in martial arts and I did not see this trait upon trying to train at Triton. I truly hope that my experience here was a rare one and that other students looking to get into martial arts dont receive the same kind of treatment that I have seen. Not only is this bad business but it is potentially scaring away new people from getting into martial arts and stereotypes martial artists into a bad picture. I wish the best for Triton and really hope that the management can become more accepting of new students coming into their organization. Until that happens I simply could not recommend for anyone to attend this gym for their first time.

As the head instructor and one of the owners of Triton Fight Center I apologize to Google User from 2 months ago and Google User from 2 years ago with the negative ratings. It is not our desire for anyone to feel unwelcome while attending our facility. I will respond to the 2 of you to the best of my ability without trying to sound like Im making an excuse.First and foremost Im sorry that we do not have a greeting service in the office while class is being conducted. That is why we ask for people to make an appointment via e-mail or calling the posted phone numbers on the site. When class is in progress instructors are attending to the current members of the academy. We try to do our best to attend to walk-ins as they come through the front door while class is going on, but like I stated our priority is the students attending the class at the moment. We are an academy not a dojo. Academies are like universities. If you come into a lecture late you cant expect the professor to restart the lecture all over again or address someone walking through the door. I personally have gone into the lobby to let people know I am in the middle of a class and I will answer any question as I have time, but that I have to be in the class. I am prior military so my posture and demeanor or body language may seem off, but by all means I try not to come off that way. Not everyone reads a person the same way. You may have came off as a jerk or a know-it-all but Im not gonna be quick to judge. There are times when we are preparing for tournaments so the training may seem intense and I put on the hat of a coach to push people to their potential. Train Hard or Go Home not just an academies attitude, but an American way of life. I grew up working hard to be successful in life. Hence the quote. I believe that to be successful on or off the mat you have to work hard. There is a reason we have a schedule that caters to different peoples needs. BEGINNER days and REGULAR classes. We always recommend for anyone just getting started to attend classes accordingly. No different from going to a regular math class to a calculus class. Our other martial arts and conditioning classes cater to anyone from beginner to advanced.Once again my name is Piet Wilhelm and I do not hide behind a screen name. I am the head instructor of the academy. I play many roles from running the facility administratively, conducting classes, and also as an active competitor. I have helped people with their personal lives on and off the mat and been a humanitarian to the community and the sport. My students know I love and care for them, but I do know that not every instructor is for everyone nor is every student for every instructor. Same goes for the facility and people training there. I can say that we have been in business since 2002 and we have over 400 active members that train on a regular basis. Some of our classes have 40-50 in attendance. We train people from ages 4 to 60+ and the majority have been with us for years. We offer FREE training for wounded veterans and contribute in many ways.I would ask that you would communicate your observation in person rather than being quick to judge. Understanding a person and the mission at hand changes perspectives.I hope you both have found a facility that you are comfortable with or that you do not give up on us.Thank you for your criticism and time.-OSSS

I started training at Triton in May of 2015 with my spouse and our daughter. This was the best decision we couldve ever made! First, I was enamored by the gym itself; the gym was clean, organized, HUGE, and provided many resources like weight equipment, very nice mats, a judo mat and aerial silks! We were welcomed by everyone in the facility. They now are family to us. Our professor, Piet Wilhelm, has been a huge inspiration to the 3 of us. He pushes us and each and every student, new and old, to not only be the best athlete you can be but be the best person you can be. He motivates us and so much more. His wife, Sara, also an inspiration. She helps with all the ins and outs of the gym and also is a phenomenal athlete in jiu jitsu, fitness, and aerial silks which motivates everyone, especially the women.Triton facilitates many charities, foundations, and self-defense. As a woman, I believe every woman should know some sort of self-defense. For me, jiu jitsu has lifted my confidence in knowing that I will be able to defend myself. Our gym is also a huge advocate for veterans. Professor will basically take money out of his own pocket to let veterans train for free. This is not cheap. He also supports foundations such as Mission 22, We Defy, Blackbelts for Butterflies and more that I may be missing. I suggest anyone please look some of these up and see all the good that the jiu jitsu community does especially at Triton!!If you are looking for a gym that is not just treadmills and stair masters or somewhere to change your fitness path, please come check out our gym. Professor will encourage you to make sure it is the right fit for you. Regardless, we will be happy to have you visit. :)

I have been attending Triton for about six months and my boys for almost a year (7 & 9). When I came to Triton I came for one purpose, so that my boys would learn the value of Learning & Earning. I wanted my boys to learn respect for those in authority, those they came into daily contact with and finally for themselves. I wanted them to learn respect beyond what they are taught at home.In addition I wanted them to understand life is not fair and great achievements are Earned. I have one son who is more naturally inclined to BJJ and the other who has to work a little harder. However in both cases they have earned their achievments. None of their belts were paid for monetarily. They were paid for through hard work and improvement. For example, one of my sons was required to take the belt test twice, before earning the next level. However it did drive home the point of earning and hes very proud of his accomplishment. This is all attributable to not only Piet and his leadership but the awesome kids coaches who not only practice their art at Triton but volunteer their time to teach the children as well.I would also add that the staff cares about all people who enter the Triton domain. Piet had been asking me for sometime, when I planned on learning BJJ. And for the longest time, my usual response was Im to fat, old and dont care. Well one day I finally gave in and havent looked back since. Through consistent attendance and participation in the strength and conditioning classes, Ive lost weight and waist size. Not only that, Ive begun to build relationships with people who are equally interested in my success too.To me the key to success at Triton is quite simple. Leave your ego at the door. Be willing to learn each time you get on the mat. And finally recognize you aint as good as you think you are, because there is always someone better to help remind you.Sincerely - The Lifestyle Hobbyist!

Be sure to get to class before it starts to warm-up.Facility: CLEAN! If you are a competitor/regular jiu jitsu practitioner, youll probably catch staph at some point. That being said, you can minimize your chances of infection if you train with clean people on clean mats.
