I saw an advertisement for a Martin 0X2MAE on the FB market place and sent in a few questions. The responses I received were fast and detailed. Since the shop also does set ups and repairs, I assume they set up all the guitars on the wall. The reason I assume this is because when I go to a big chain where guitars go from the box right to the wall, I’ll see tons of them with visibly high, sometimes unplayable action…this is not the case at running dog. I could’ve picked any guitar off the wall and it would’ve been clean and easy to play. The prices were excellent, too. Running Dog will remind you of an older music shop, in the best way. Definitely give them a try. I may commute there for repairs in the future.

Cool store. They have an assortment of instruments for sale on display. It was clean and well-lit, so we could get a good look at everything. They do repairs, sales, and lessons. We could hear some musicians playing while we were there. We will be back when the kid saves up enough for the bass he wants

Went today to browse a few instruments. This place is great! I was immediately welcomed, but not pressured to buy anything. They were happy to sit and talk about any instrument I was looking at. I walked out with my daughters first guitar and a banjo for myself. The prices were comparable to what you will find online, but the best part is the instrument is already set up and ready to play. which usually either isn’t done when shopping online, or you have to pay extra for at other stores. 10/10 will definitely be coming back.

My son and I have been taking lessons from Rick for more than 3 years now. Me, banjo and my son, electric bass guitar. Rick is a patient, inventive and talented teacher. Our whole family is now taking lessons with Marla on guitar now. We love it, You will always be treated like family by Carrie and Rick!

On my wedding anniversary, my wife surprised me with guitar lessons @ Running Dog Music. I don’t know how she found them, but Rick immediately took care of everything, and Trish has pulled off some rock star miracle moves and taught me how to play some cool tunes. I have had a great experience and would highly recommend these guys!!! I will not forget to mention Carrie, who is so pleasant and welcoming. I started banjo at the end of March. Rick and Roy went above and beyond to get setup with all my banjo needs to start lessons. Roy is my instructor and he has been so patient and is really knowledgeable. I’m a little nervous of a player as banjo and playing music is totally new to me. Roy helps calm my nerves and gives me great feedback on ways to progress! Running Dogs is definitely a must if you are wanting professional work on instruments or lessons!!!

By far some of the most amazing people I have ever gotten to meet! Rick and Carrie do such an amazing job of making it warm and welcoming, as well as meet any needs! My son has been taking lessons from Barrett and he loves it! 💙 Barrett is not only patient with my ever changing and insane working schedule, but patient with my son and his often times never ending questions and want to just know everything right away...... Barrett is an incredible musician and a phenomenal instructor...... if you want the best in Tulsa go check them out! They are all rockstars and I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with my crazy schedule, forgetfulness at times, and the lack of knowledge I have when it comes to anything with the guitar! There are not enough words to describe how great my experience has been here and continues to be, Trish Davis is an outstanding teacher; in my case guitar...patience and fun. Ricks guitar repair has been quick and exceptional, teaching me about my instrument along the way.

I recently had a severe issue with a warping bridge on my Taylor 514 guitar. Rick did an incredible job repairing the issue in a timely and affordable fashion. I thought my treasured guitar was a complete loss, however after I did a quick search, I found that Rick has the highest recommendations by the Taylor factory for repairs. He did a miracle. Forever thankful. Use him if you have any repair issues.

My son has taken lessons ukelele from Mr. Russell for about six months now. Mr. Russell is an excellent teacher who is very knowledgeable and patient, and Im amazed at my sons musical abilities in just a short timeframe. I recently began violin lessons myself at Running Dogs, and Im enjoying those as well. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing service. I took my old little Washburn that I learned to play on to have it gone through and tuned up. Rick did an amazing job. It had a few small issues that he fixed for me and restringed it. He even called to ask about my playing style to make sure it was set up best for my preference. Great price and the best service Ive ever had at any music shop.

By far the best service I’ve ever received at a music store. I came in thinking my guitar had serious problems. Rick (the owner) went over the problems and did the perfect setup himself. Not only was his service top notch, he is a master guitarist. As I was waiting, he let me try some guitars in the shop and showed me better ways to play classic fingerstyle tunes. My wife took ukulele lessons with one of his associate instructors coincidentally and we were very pleased. We highly recommend RDM.

Rick is not just a talented musician, but a talented teacher as well. He takes the music that you are interested in and teaches you from day one how to play songs you like. Theres a lot of music theory, but he squeezes it into small bites to where you dont even really notice it. Ive tried to learn guitar for years using books and on-line tutorials with little results. After a few months with Rick, I actually played at our company Christmas party. And I keep getting better.

Rick took great care with my guitar. Im grateful that Rick performed and explained repairs in detail. While I dont think all repairs can be done and delivered on the same day, I consider myself fortunate to have my guitar back and playable in just a few hours.
