Cindy taught me a lot through the whole course. I’m a hands on learner and she gave the class a chance to practice each skill multiple times. She was always eager to help whenever someone asked any questions or needed something to be explained in further detail. Throughout the whole time she helped each student look for jobs, practice each unit, and practice the skills. The entire class passed the school exam and their state certification thanks to Cindy. I couldn’t have picked a better place and I will be referring everyone here. Not to mention having dogs in the class made it extra fun!

I was nervous about taking the CNA course 1) cost and 2) learning and passing state test. Upon reviewing FSHC reviews, I felt comfortable paying for this class. Cindy is very nice and understanding and meets each individual needs. She is direct about focusing on the skills that we need to know, in order to give great care to our residents. I really enjoyed the little class I was in- we were 6, and we all got along well. We worked together and helped each other out to learn the skills. I really recommend this place. Mrs. Cindy is the absolute best teacher ever. Very professional, but also very down to earth and kind. I was super nervous going into class, but she made us feel welcome and at home immediately. The class sizes are perfect almost like a one on one experience. She never hesitated to answer any questions we had and was always very thorough with her answers. I enrolled in First Step Healthcare Training to obtain my CNA/HHA certifications. Having had no prior medical training, I was nervous about being able to retain all of the information, but the instructor, Cindy Armstrong, is great. She is extremely caring and patient, and breaks everything down step-by-step, allowing ample time to practice the skills being taught. That being said, it is an intensive course. There are lectures and homework so be prepared to study. However Cindy makes the course fun, and there is a lot of hands-on interaction. I loved the small class size (Max number of students is 12). I thoroughly enjoyed the course and feel it well-prepared me for my state exams. If you are looking to become CNA certified, I highly recommend First Step.

Freaking amazing! She taught us everything we needed know to ace the test and did a great job of that. She promoted a lot of independent learning and was always there for you if you needed any help. Her dogs are super cute as well and made class fun! I felt fully prepared for the test and got a 100% on the skills portion and an 86% on the written portion and now I’m a certified nursing assistant!
