I have been going to body&brain yoga for a couple months now and cannot recommend it enough! The most unique yoga practice I have been to. The practice combines body movement with both emotional and mental practice. This is such a special place that radiates positive energy, I always walk out feeling refreshed and grounded. If you’re thinking about coming here, please do!

I started attending zoom classes for Tai Chi with Master Courtney and Qigong with Master Dahari after experiencing a scary heart condition that was partly caused by intense stress. From my very first session, I knew I was in the right place, not only for stress reduction, but for the art of breathing, stretching, strengthening, balance and increased energy. And for the joy of learning and practicing the Tai Chi form itself. My many chats with their coordinator, as well as masterful instructor, Meghan, have also been enlightening, encouraging, calming and healing. All of my questions and needs have been resolved with focus on my particular situation, increasing arthritis, and age - 82 - with caring, love and humor. I cant recommend this resource enough.

Staff are really passionate about sharing their practices with students. Material integates a lot of mindfulness and meditation principles into a variety of classes with different levels of movement.They also organize diverse workshops and activities like hiking in New Hampshire for young adults. In these pandemic times they have stepped up, offering both online and, where allowed, in person class.

Hello! There are no words in any dictionary of any language which can paint the picture that is Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi. That will not, however, stop me from sharing my experience thus far with the program. I am a recent college grad, working remotely for the city of NY from my home desk, and before this community, I was lost. My heart and mind were at constant warfare, leaving my soul in the middle without shelter from the bombarding thoughts and feelings, which controlled my day. To keep me preoccupied, on my lunch breaks, I would incorporate small, simple bodyweight exercises for the home. This became a daily routine to keep myself active and dedicated, however, something was missing. My mind and body were not one. There was no conversation happening within myself, and I was becoming frustrated with my progress. Then, like a guardian angel, my brother Steven suggested this yoga program he was a part of. I was skeptical at first, but after a Dahn Jon tapping session with him, I felt my heart sink into peace and my mind stretch its wings. After a friendly, welcoming, and heartwarming introduction with Master Meghan and Master Courtney, I was ready to make the investment in myself and join the Body & Brain community. The plethora of classes throughout the day and week make the commitment malleable to your schedule, which during the recent rampant remoteness, helps us all feel a little more connected. Through this class, I have found not only a brain and body connection, but thanks to our candid sharing sessions, I have found my voice. The exercises are never complicated and focus more on good form and good breathing, rather than simply doing a movement as quickly as possible. The Masters are all amazing people from around the world, all with the same passion to guide this community. That being said, the Masters are open to learning from us as much as they can teach us; it truly feels like a meaningful relationship rather than just a pupil/teacher dynamic. There are fantastic workshops on top of the classes almost weekly with different focuses and themes (e.g. the Earth Day stream with David was magical!). Lastly, the Masters are happy and excited to host one-on-ones to help members reach their personal goals, perform some individual training, and check-in holistically for the entire persons wellbeing. In conclusion, I do not know where I would be today without this program, this community, and those that dedicate every day to Body & Brian, but I do not have to find out! Rather, I have found purpose, routine, friends, and myself. Thank you Body & Brain from this young man in New Jersey. Water Up, Fire Down!

Back in February of 2020 I was doing errands in Coolidge Corner when I popped into Body and Brain. I was greeted by Meghan. At that time I so needed an escape from my job and the stress of it. Meghan was calm and peaceful. We spent a long time chatting about the practice and I decided to sign up a small package of classes. I am so glad I did. Having done yoga in the past, I was immediately curious about how different this is. And with each different class I took I began feel more and more drawn to learn more about the practice. Once you engage you can take advantage of having a personal coach (of course, I chose Meghan). It is now September, and I try to take 3 classes a week. I try to take different classes and I truly enjoy them all for different reasons. All of the instructors are amazing. This practice allows you to truly be in the moment. Your body and brain will be united by the end of class. Calming and refreshing all in one package. I am so happy that I found Body and Brain. Such encouraging and caring guides.

B & B yoga is a incredible place where one can journey through a course of self healing, connect back to oneself and gain a deeper insight into the practice of traditional yoga. I personally have a refreshing and invigorating experience practicing weekly here after a frenetic and exhaustive work life.

If youre looking for a traditional yoga studio this is not that place, and expecting that will do both this gym and yourself a great disservice. HOWEVER, if your path crossed with Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chis by what feels like a coincidence or accident, I assure you, it wasnt one.Follow your gut, embrace this at times silly place, and commit to trying it for yourself. If you take the leap of faith your life will be rewarded and enriched for doing so with a deeper sense of self and greater control over your life than you ever thought possible. B&B is more of a self-discovery and self-improvement gym than a traditional yoga studio; and as you peel back the layers of the onion you will realize this place is all about empowering you with a set of tools to attain a state of mindfulness and self-mastery to enable you to attain a more fulfilling, purpose-driven life.

Body and Brain has become essential in our daily lives during the pandemic lockdown. Since all classes have been moved to Zoom, we can join more classes than ever and learn from instructors from all four centers in Mass. Every instructor is so joyful, professional, and personable. We often take the same class from different instructors. Each one offers some variations that we can learn from. It has been a wonderful experience!! The best of all is that the online classes will continue indefinitely even after the in-person class reopens. I would definitely recommend Body and Brain to anybody who wants to maintain his or her physical and mental health in this difficult time.

Last February, I walked into the Body & Brain Yoga & Tai Chi Center in Brookline and was warmly welcomed by Manager, Courtney Lindop.A friend had recommended B&B, and as I’d been stressed from work and a few general life challenges, I knew I needed some tools.Courtney set up an appointment for a consult the following week and it was “just what the doctor ordered.” She showed me some simple ways to meditate, breathe deeply and give my active brain a rest.I signed up for a program and began going to classes twice a week. As I practiced the exercises, I found not only ways to calm and focus, but also renewed energy.I’m so grateful I connected with the center before the pandemic hit, because these tools have helped me to remain grounded during an especially challenging time! Now, I do the Zoom classes from home and continue to feel connected to the staff and community at Body & Brain.Highly recommend this center and their able staff!

Two sudden events caused me to join BnB online-training: the world-wide pandemic lockdown and my own cancer diagnosis. How was I supposed to follow the doctors’ recommendations to exercise my body powerfully during chemotherapy (to minimize side-effects) in times of closed gyms and yoga studios?It was my 28-year old daughter who had been going to the center before the shutdown. She encouraged me to join her online-training. So I began to participate and I understood and felt very quickly the physical and mental impact of the classes. It was demanding, stimulating, and equally relaxing, calming, soothing. My goal was to maintain my flexibility, mobility, and balance of my body.But now I see that I reached these goals not only in a physical but also in a mental way. My condition is better than before, my muscles are strong, I won the control over my body and the trust in my mind. With the help of the sensitive and empathic trainers, classes always brighten my mood, I sleep better, and I am beginning to balance body and mind. They promote imagination in my brain and sore muscles in my body – in a good way. We are collecting and spreading mental energy for ourselves in every exercise. It is such fun!There are so many classes to choose from, and you don’t even have to leave the house! And if you turn off the video, you don’t even need to worry about your hairstyle. Two months ago I completed my medical treatments successfully and I came out of this time stronger than before. I am so very grateful to my daughter and all Masters of Body and Brain. Ive been coming to Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi since May of 2019, and I absolutely love it. It is so much more than just moving through the Yoga positions, which is what I have done in most other Yoga classes. I love the combination of stretching, tapping, breathing, yoga and Tai chi - the classes always introduce something new and wonderful. I feel more energetic and toned, my knees are way stronger. My husband has also joined me at the studio this summer, and has also been enjoying the experience. We are learning so much about the body and brain connection, energy, proper breathing - its a holistic approach that weve been looking for. We feel so good after every class - we know weve done something good for ourselves. And we love our instructors - Courtney, Meghan and Master Cho. They are very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, attentive, thoughtful teachers who know every person by name, know our issues and limitations, and watch carefully over our progress. That personal attention makes this experience very special. We highly recommend this place - we certainly already have to several of our friends.

Body And Brain is an amazing place that has been invaluable in helping me manage my stress and live in the present. While my life has unfortunately gotten too busy to attend the regular classes, I’ve been recently attending the less frequent, but absolutely amazing Heroes days. A mix of both indoor class-style mediation and outdoor hiking and adventures, these events never fail to put me in a lasting good mood. I have met some of the most inspiring and wonderful people through these events. Whether you’re looking to work on your mindfulness, get a good workout, or just have fun and move your body, the Heroes events has it all! Highly recommend it :D

The instructors are experienced,dedicated and personable. After the class, often there are opportunities to share the class experiences with the instructor and the fellow participants. In the past six months, I have been attending the classes about three times a week, and I have noticed that my body becomes more flexible with a firmer foundation. Furthermore, I am more aware of the body- mind connection and the simple exercises which help mental relaxation and stress relief.

I highly recommend the Brookline Center for Body and Brain Yoga. The teachers are caring and compassionate people as well as very skilled instructors. The classes are diverse, fun and challenging. I am calmer, have more energy for my life, and feel stronger physically and mentally. Dahn yoga is not your typical yoga studio, and that is the best part about it. Its not just a bunch of people stretching so that they can be skinnier or prettier or because its cool now, They emphasize greatly the importance of meditation and mindfulness to improve your mind and body. The instructors are phenomenal and give you powerful tools to help manage your stress and anxiety from day to day life. They truly care and make and effort to help each individual that comes to their classes. The classes themselves are unique in that certain days focus on different aspects, some focus on gathering energy and other focus on stress relief and meditation. This studio has made a huge difference n my life and has taught me many valuable lessons. Ive been a member since 2011, going to class about once a week on average. Ive ALWAYS left class in a great mood, feeling relaxed and reenergized. Never had a bad class- ever. Always worth it. Amazing staff, always friendly and very knowledgeable on the physical and mental components of the practice. I wandered into Brookline Body&Brain at the beginning of summer 2016 simply looking for a practice to calm my anxieties and promote good mental health. It took no time at all for the center to do this for me. In fact, since then, the experience has grown to be one of the most meaningful and powerful aspects of my life.At first attempt, the yoga and meditation classes may feel unusual, as our society does so little to mimic them. 1 1/2 yrs ago I found Body & Brain by accident (maybe the Universe sent me there)I have been living with chronic lower back pain, headaches and random pain in other parts of the body for 20 + yrs.My life felt hopeless.Since I have never taken yoga before I did not know what to expect when I walked in for my appointment.The center is so calming and the staff is friendly. Good energy!After taking one class I knew I want to go back.I felt calm, relaxed, energized.My body now is stronger, more flexible, mentally healthier, no more headaches and body pain.I have hope again!!Folks, come destress and heal your mind and body.Thanks to all the staff :)

This a beautiful studio. The instructors are very caring and attentive. Dahn yoga incorporated yoga, tai chi and mindfulness so when I leave the class I feel complete and relaxed. The feeling lasts for a couple days. Ive really enjoyed classes and manage stress differently. My shoulder tension and vertigo are almost gone! Highly recommended!

This has been a great find since moving to Boston! Each class is a journey and I can feel how much calmer and more focused I am every time. Ive done many forms of exercise but this is definitely the one that best helps me feel better mentally as well as physically. The crowd is pretty diverse and the pace of the class is usually moderate. Danielle and David are great instructors and overall I have really enjoyed it!

Its definitely different from the yoga Ive done before but its exactly what I need! I seriously feel like I just got a massage. Ive been going for three months and its become a part of my routine.The center is warm and friendly and the class is great. The classroom is upstairs and the reception area is downstairs and they have mats available.

I walked into a Dahn Yoga center 8 years ago and I got a LOT more than I bargained for. I have experienced more positive changes than I ever thought possible through Dahn Yoga. I am physically healthier but even more amazing is the transformation of my mental state.Throughout my life I have battled with depression and anxiety. Trying a myriad of solutions that never stuck. Through breathing exercises and meditation I saw immediate changes in anxiety levels- this is what kept me coming.There is many more obstacles Ive overcome since starting the practice, gaining more love and respect for myself along the way. I believe the difference with Dahn was the realization of choosing hope through lifes ups and downs, rather than assuming despair. Not to mention the support from the instructors and staff who have a genuine desire to help and unending compassion for others.I would recommend Dahn Yoga for anyone ready for real change. Walking through life with confidence has drastically improved relationships with my family and friends. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give to others is being comfortable in your own skin!

Since I started practicing Dahn yoga I noticed that my weight has started to come down much easier. It became easier to control my appetite and I could see the weight coming off. Over the past month and a half I have lost about 10 pounds. It was hard to believe because it took my 2 years and I could not lose any weight before.

This is the place to leave your worries behind, to unwind and breath it all out. I have been coming to Brookline Dahn Yoga ever since I can remember. Not only is the location very convenient to attend, but you become acquainted with the rest of the members so its always nice to see a familiar face. After leaving the center, you feel so rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. Going after work, or beginning of day always prepares you to start your week right. The weekend classes are very comforting and relaxing. I highly recommended to try it out, and experience the transformation for yourself.

I have been coming to the Brookline Dahn Yoga for 3 months, and its been great. I had never done yoga before I started and I was afraid I would be very behind in the class. But all the instructors are great and I had fun even though my body was very stiff at first. The other people in the class were also very friendly and I like that they have time to share after class and drink tea. Its not hot yoga so thats also a plus for me.

Dahn yoga classes are both relaxing and energizing. Theres a good mixture of stretching and strengthening poses with a large focus on core strength. This leaves me feeling centered and ready to go.The teachers make the classes great for all skill and fitness levels too. Ive been a competitive athlete for years with my fair share of associated aches and pains. Dahn yoga thoroughly realigns and strengthens those old injuries and gently makes me strong in my body again.If I come when I am tired, I always leave feeling more awake, relaxed and calm. If I come ready to move and get into my body for an hour or so, then I know I wont be disappointed at the Dahn classes.I love coming here with my father. We both enjoy being able to spend time together this way.Dahn has also introduced me to simple meditation practices that even a distractable daydreamer like myself can follow and enjoy.

Seven years ago I made one of the best decisions of my life - starting Dahn Yoga. I have never looked back. Being retired, I aim for four times a week, enjoying the variety of classes offered. My body seems to rejoice as I breathe and stretch like I dont do while running around doing chores. After each class I either feel relaxed or energized or both. I treasure the time spent in meditation and stilling my busy mind. I have learned to focus on the body part we are using, giving it my full attention and watching as I become more flexible and stronger, as I age. At 69, I amaze myself at what my body has learned to do in Dahn Yoga. Thank you to our wonderful teachers - I love each of you and how you work us for a full hour and a quarter.

I have been coming to classes at Body and Brain in Brookline for almost a year. The experience has been wonderful. Due to a medical condition, losing balance has been a major health issue for me. The classes at Body and Brain help improve my balance tremendously. I can’t say enough about the wonderful instructors, Master Courtney and Master Meghan. They are professional, passionate, and personal. I have learned so much from them during the past year. The weekly stretching class with Master Cho is a treat as well. I have learned many healing techniques from him. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is seeking a healthy body, a happy mind, and a power brain!

I honestly can say that Barbara and Sholeh saved my health. The first time I came in Body and Brain I was suffering chronic insomnia and after one month and a couple of personel sessions with Babara I sleep like a baby. When I started Dahn Yoga I was looking for a fitness program that would help me connect with my body and mind. But to be honest, I didnt really know what I was looking for. Trying a $20 private introductory session appealed to me because I was very nervous about doing something new in a group setting.What Ive received in the past 11 months has been so much more than a typical yoga class! The program that Dahn Yoga/Holistic Fitness has created is so comprehensive. It combines physical health with mental and spiritual health in a way that can be practically applied to my every day life. I have lost 30 pounds, feel happier, have gained confidence and real purpose in my life.The classes are wonderful! They follow a basic flow, like most types of yoga, but each class differs from the last. I particularly love the Friday night vibration classes! Through free movement and other exercises, I can really go deep inside my body, release stress and calm my emotions.The classes are wonderful practice, but the workshops provide really in-depth guidance in how to make the experience more useful both during the classes and when I go home. The instructors are so passionate and sincere. I feel as though they are truly invested in helping me gain a better quality of life.Im so grateful that I stumbled upon this place. Changing your life can be so challenging. The encouragement and guidance I have received here are priceless. After attending Body & Brain in Brookline for 5 months, here is my take. The staff is friendly and very competent. This is a warm and peaceful place, ideal for exercise, meditation and ...learning. What is different from other studios is that Body & Brain mixes yoga, Pilates; Tai Chi and Qi Gong; strength, flexibility and stretching; body tapping and relaxation. Generous one hour sessions leave me tired but strangely at peace and energized. My brain and body (in places I did not know I had) feel alive!I feel stronger spritually and physically. Hard to explain. In addition, Body & Brain offers on-going education supporting what they teach: Videos, evening or weekend workshops. I have attended several of them and have learned a lot about the relationship between my brain (mind) and my body.The staff offers private sessions. I see Courtney who has done marvels with my back by the way.Body & Brain offers a holistic all encompassing approach that is slowly changing my outlook on life and myself. I highly recommend the Brookline Center which is very good easy to get to. Another plus 😉

I have taken a lot of different yoga classes and I love traditional yoga. I tried yoga at the Brookline Dahn Yoga after purchasing a groupon. Its a little different style of yoga because they do tapping and some other things that we didnt do in regular yoga, but overall I really enjoyed it. Its not quite as much just for flexibility but I will keep going because I think it will help me deal with my stressful life. :-) I am happy I found it!

I like this yoga because it has made me feel very strong in my body from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. I have been learning more how my body feels in each exercise. I feel the strength of my legs and Im still working to make my dahnjon (2nd chakra) stronger.I am practicing to be able to watch my emotions and better get to know the true self and soul inside of me.

I had bad shooting leg pain, my physiatrist told me do yoga, I came here and after a several classes the pain had faded. Everyone here is nice and helpful, they really care, and the place has a great calm energy.
