My daughter was not thriving in the public school environment. When her middle school experience didn’t work out, we pulled her out after the start of the year and sent her to Brightmont. My expectations were low, to be honest. I. HAVE. NEVER. BEEN. MORE. WRONG. My daughter has been there almost 2 years now. Not only has she succeeded, she accelerated through 7th during Covid and is now expected to start HS early. Carrie is wonderful and hires such amazing teachers; many have been Ph.D level. The connection my daughter has with her teachers has been amazing to witness. They don’t really deal with disciplinary issues, but they know my kid and make sure she stays in line and focused on her work while she’s there. I almost feel bad telling parents how well my child has progressed this year during Covid, knowing so many others struggled. Brightmont has not only been a pleasant suprise, it’s been a blessing.

I sat in my bathroom and cried this afternoon.My son came to me and said, “of all the schools I’ve been to, Brightmont is by far the best.”Before Brightmont, he had been placed in at lest one if not two public schools a year. He was in class only 3 hours a day and I had to frequent the school to intervene when he was too frightened and triggered to remain at school.I was sitting by myself after he left to play and I don’t really know why...relief...happiness...pride...the big breath you finally take after holding your breath for too long... I cried my heart out.It’s almost unbelievable that just a few months ago my son was struggling with every aspect of daily life and nowhere more than school. Now, he is working at grade level with straight A’s and his favorite teacher — Math?! He tested at a 5th grade level in November and now he’s starting pre-algebra! Even the mention of math used to set him into a melt down. Now? He’s thriving not just at school but at home and in his relationships. It isn’t perfect, things never are- but in so brief a period of time it seems nothing less than miraculous.He’s a different kid. A happier, more confident, more together kid than I ever imagined possible when we came to tour in the late fall.Thank you, Dr Chris! Thank You, Dr, James, Thank You, Mr Ken! Thank you, Carrie! You change lives. You have definitely changed the trajectory of his.I can’t thank you all enough!

My experience with Brightmont Academy was not a good one.The school basically charges $29k per high school year. If your child is not at the grade level academically for the year they are attending they charge another $5400 for “skill building” classes which due not qualify for any credits. Maybe it’s just me but wouldn’t a one on one teaching academy that charges $29 for one year work with each student based on where they are academically?Obviously I was not willing to pay $34,000 for one year of high school not to mention they do not have the room for all the classes nor do they have enough staff to accommodate the students!!
