I would like to share my experience of a place that really makes you feel welcomed. They go above and beyond to help you. Thanks to my first teacher there- Mr.Aguilar I was able to feel like I could actually get the whole school idea to go great . His class was the perfect start. When at one point, I was very anxious/nervous it went away thanks to all his help, hard work, and dedication. Now, I feel like I belong there, as part of the SCI family .

I’ve been here for 3 weeks and I have to say I really like this school thanks to Mr. Aguilar. Because of him I was able to pass my class with an A without making the lesson boring. I highly recommend this school to anyone because the teachers will help you one on one if you do not understand a lesson.

So disappointed, at the beginning they make you feel like you are in the right place, so sad that is only at the beginning when they are convincing you to join them. I so regretted to choose this school to invest my time and money.

I believe s.c.i is the perfect way to get your foot into the door of whatever field it is you decide to study. Everything comes with a sacrifice . Instructors will give you many tools but it is ultimately up to you to use those tools. As adults, nothing will be given to us for free. That being said, s.c.i staff goes way out of their way to give you whatever is you need. Especially life skills. If what you’re looking for is a hand out, sci is definitely not the place for you 😃

As a current student, I could not stress the gratitude I have towards our instructors, financial aid, admissions and career services team for all the work they invest in each of us students. It has been an amazing journey through half of my program. As of now, my mentality and desires are professionally oriented for my success as a Medical Assistant. This is only the beginning but Im very happy SCI is my foundation for what awaits in the future. I recommend our Brownsville campus to anyone out there that wants to accomplish a career as a Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, CNA, Computer Support, Administrative Assistant, Business Accounting, Cosmetology and Nail Tech. First off I want to start by pointing out I have no complaints about the professors Ive had. They are really professional, courteous and extremely helpful. Over this four months that I have been here everything had been great, maybe because I didnt yet had the misfortune of interacting with The Campus Director, Dan Grimm. Myself, experiencing PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL services from the people around here, of course, I was expecting THAT to come from the leadership above them, once again The Campus Director, Dan Grimm. On the contrary, The first time we interacted, the first time we crossed word, the first time we even looked face to face, he approached me in a hostile way in the parking lot, for a complaint, which first off he didnt even SEE or had proof or even understanding of the situation. Fist off and which Im really offended by, I repeat, the hostile way he approach me, with arm gestures on the air literally jumping me. I cant lie, Im 63 280 Lbs, I felt threaten by that The Campus Director, Dan Grimm. Before anything, my father has never approach to me like that, what makes it right for a complete stranger. I say before approaching anyone in any situation, and specially the way he talked to me, which Im really not going to wast my time typing on what he said to me. At the moment of wanting to go talk to him, in a polite way, the way someone with manners would, I knocked at his office wanting to find a solution to this, I just got ignored, him just making hand gestures pointing at his phone and giving me the back...typical Office Boss. Just really wasnt what i expected. Hopefully this gets address properly of course to prevent further cases like this to happen. Just really Disappointed...and no I definitely WOULDNT recommend this school.

First off let me say that before working at SCI, I worked at another vocational school for five years and before that, I worked in the field for several years in a surgical practice/office.While everything seems to be great, please keep in mind that instructors have to play nice with the students, because of revenue--a student leaving is money leaving the school as well. Instructors have to bend backwards to keep students in the respective programs.I left because I was being told to sign a document stating that a student had completed and turned in to me her make-up work and exams, when in truth she never approached me regarding any make-up work. Signing that document would be considered FRAUD, plain and simple, but yet I was told to sign it by a lead instructor, so that the student could be pushed through and complete her studies.I refused, but when push came to shove, I left leaving a class of adult students behind. In speaking with SCI Corporate, the concern was more in my leaving the classroom with adult students, than the offense of fraud. If that is the type of free ride you want with massive debt to go with it, then go right ahead; you will see how the student can do no wrong--leastways while I was there.I know this much: while there, I always had students approach me and say they wanted to be in my class(es); that said mine was the first class where they were learning and to this day, I still have former students approach me and thank me for not only the academic side, but also the interpersonal aspect of working in a medical office. That experience showed an ugly side of SCI and because of it, I refuse to give a more positive review, especially if some of the leadership is still there.I do truly hope things have changed and truly hope your experience with SCI, as either a student or instructor, is a positive one.Instructors---if you wont or cannot positively lead and teach by example and not by rote, then perhaps a career change is better suited for you. The students are paying through the nose to receive additional education and if they are not, I truly hope they let leadership know as many times as possible and positive and necessary change occurs.Students---thank your instructor when you have learned something and let them know when it is difficult. Speak up when needed; ask questions.Respectfully,Mr. Gerardo Rodriguez

Despite hearing unfortunate reviews, I decided to give it a chance because of a program I found relevant. Several concerns. 1. They influence potential students to sign up for federal loans that even the actual college I went to before hand warned me about due to financial responsibility. Considering my commitment to my goal: I played along with optimism.2. Orientation: wasted 2 Hours of my day. There was no relevant information given to me except they were already to begin accepting payment. ??? Classes Havent even started and especially after this orientation im unsure I want to follow through with that.Orientation itself was a mess. 1.They start of trying to sell you a Bank of America Student account. 2.Then the director introduces herself to claim* she has connections for employment (promising clearly). 3. And then you break up into groups by class for a preview of the classrooms and instructors.4. My class had no instructors and there was no introduction to my class instead they raved about the neighboring class.4.B. the result is that apparently you will be taking online classes.5.A. The tour(which u take when u sign up btw) ends with recruitment asking you to give them leads.5.B. I would never give them anyones number because as a previous prospect they call you too many times. And moreover do your own damn job. K thanks.6. Some of the staff was enigmatic however most of them were clueless, uninformed, uneducated and plain rude.7. There was a promise that an instructor would call me back however its become clear their only intent is to gather as much money from the government as they can and then let you figure the rest on your own. (Ive heard several stories of people being left of 7000 debt.)I will be doing some more research needless to say.Be forewarned Ive yet to hear any success stories

Not sure why SCI cant or wont work with their students on the payment issue during these difficult times. So many people are either out of work or are working less hours, but for some reason deferring or putting payments on hold until this quarantine is over is out of the question...

Graduated from this place and they wont provide me with my diploma because of some nonsense, so now I have to pay unnecessary student loans and cant get a job because I cant show proof that I graduated. Also staff is horrible mostly no one has experience in the field that they are teaching you they are just book smart. Do not waste your money, your time or your opportunity to actually go to a college and get a real degree. I also forgot to mention that director Dan Grimm is impolite, untrustworthy of his word, judgmental and not helpful.

As of right now Im attending sci for the second time( first wasnt very pleasant). I have to say it is a completely different experience from the college environment, and im still quite use to the environment that I left. When you start your program youll mostly be learning in the computer in the classrooms. Which im not completely use to yet.Another thing I want to point out is that they rush you as soon as you walk in the door to apply for program. And im not so sure my about my program that i am pursuing. My adivce to anyone who is thinking about applying to sci is do your research about the progarms that they often.Jared Escobedo

Recently, I was called for a possible job position as a admissions representative & personally declined the 1st time. I called the 2nd time to inquiry more of the position & one of the employees (ellis or elle) spoke in a rude and scornful manner. This type of professionalism discouraged me for any possible employment in this facility. I know one gets asked numerous of questions of any job but the way this woman treated was unprofessional. Im never considering this place again.
