Brought my violin in to replace the A string. The owner Dustin notice my case was slightly damaged and repair the hinges for my bow and gifted me a cleaning cloth. Amazing customer service.

I needed help with a cello setup and called on OC Violin Shop. Dustin was very courteous, quick, efficient, and helpful with the setup. You could really tell he was concerned with doing the best possible work. His shop is well stocked with instruments and accessories. Ill be happy to return for my future instrument needs.

I visited this place after researching for the right budget for the musical instruments. I had difficulties purchasing instruments for my three daughters, and this place had answers. The instruments were in my budget, and their rent-to-own program was a music to my ears. Dustin here was very polite and kind, explaining about the instruments in detailed and professional manner. I ended up buying good quality instruments (Violin, Viola, and Cello) at a good price. I really recommend this place!

I went to the OC Violin Shop because I was interested in a violin but they let me down. Can’t trust all these raving reviews about this shop, it looks as though they were bought. The shop did look nice but the person I spoke with was not. Their prices were unreasonable for the type of violins they were selling. In order words to be frank, I think they were trying to rip me off. I am old but not that old. It was a very unpleasant experience going to the OC Violin Shop.

I rented a very nice quality student cello from Mr. Choi who impressively took the time to carefully set it up upon my arrival at his shop. He made sure the cello was set up specifically towards my learning level - awesome! Six weeks ago, I began beginning cello lessons as an adult with very little musical experience.I rented a student cello through a music school which offers instructions/rentals of other various instruments as well. Lately, I began feeling the school rental wasnt specific to me enough to retain my motivation to continue learning to play. Therefore, I began researching other instruction approaches and came upon information about luthiers - a maker of stringed instruments. I was drawn to the dedication and caring to detail that a luthier would have for a cello. In searching the internet, I found OC Violin Shop. After a courteous and welcoming phone conversation with Mr. Choi, I decided it would be a worthwhile drive from Irvine to Buena Park.This turned out to be an awesome learning experience. Unlike the music school, Mr. Choi listened to my thoughts and concerns. He was laid back and did not try to push anything. He was so willing to explain what he focuses on in a student cello rental. It was informative observing him as he set up the strings in accordance to my level of learning. It was more reassuring to rent from someone who cares about the instrument and understands cello playing dynamics for a beginner.The quality of the bow was notably above my school rental. It was light, the hairs in perfect condition and felt so much more balanced in hand. Mr. Chois rental also came with a soft case. But, since I was renting a quality student cello with the option to buy, I wanted to be confident it would be safe in transporting to lessons. With Mr. Chois expertise, I felt confident in purchasing a quality Bam Shamrock hardcase he had at the shop.I left Mr. Chois shop 1-1/2, not quite 2 hrs. feeling my trip to Buena Park was well worth the time and effort. Mr. Chois cello feels effortlessly more natural for my body to practice, and I dont struggle to find a comfortable position neither with the cello or the bow. Thank you, Mr. Choi. Its was a pleasure to meet you and to play your student cello!
