Beware of this business! Our children participated in their stem program after school for two years. The instructors are excellent, but the owner is deceptive. We paid for both of our kids to take a STEM course during the spring session. Since the schools were closed, they couldn’t offer the after school class. I contacted them multiple times via email with no response and finally reach somebody by phone. They told me that we agreed to a no refund policy when we signed our children up for their program. I asked for a credit toward a session next year and was told that the owner would call me to discuss that option. I never received a call, but received an email reiterating the online virtual class option. That is absolutely unacceptable. We paid for an in-person interactive class. I can find any number of YouTube videos with the same instruction they were offering for free! Our kids have 6 years left at their current school and we will never sign up for this program again. We will be speaking to our principal about finding about her company to provide this service. Don’t waste your money.

We signed our 7 year old for a hands on after school STEM program. When school was shut down for the year we asked for a refund due to AES not being able to hold up their end of the contract. They refused. The school principal told us this was something we should have refunded. We were denied again. They offered online course which is not what the original contract was for. This was for in person instruction of hands on learning and building. We would have even considered using the funds for a class the next year. But that Wasn’t even offered. Hopefully they wont allow them to scam any more families by allowing them back into the school district when school starts in the fall again.

Stay away at all cost! Bait and switch scam and deceiving business practices!I was trying to help this business by recruiting other parents to sign up their kids for classes at my kids school over the years, as they kept on frequently cancelling chess classes due to low enrollment, which was always disappointing for kids who signed up.We thought Chess Scholars (aka Afterschool Enrichment Solutions aka Fambro Management LLC) offering was suitable for us as classes were advertised to be held in-person, face-to-face, at my kids school, during school hours. We signed up, once again for last session but kids school got closed in March due to the Covid19 closures and is still closed through end of year.No Chess Scholars classes took place on date advertised (not even virtual) and instead of promptly issuing a refund (as they have done many times before due to low enrollment), this time they refused to issue a refund at all!I contacted Chess Scholars via email several times and each time I was given some kid of run around with an offer for a gift card, or to take virtual classes, which they finally scrambled together weeks later.NO, I am not interested in a gift card as this is my kids last year in this school and I am not planning to drop off and pick up on purpose for a short class, especially when my kid gets older and outgrows this program. One of the main reasons we signed up was the convenience factor of these classes taking place during school hours.NO Im not interested in a virtual class as those dont work. You cannot properly teach a 5 y.o. chess through a screen. Trust me, I tried. On top of that, there are plenty of free online resources - why would I pay $20 an online chess class? We purposely signed up for in-person classes as a face to face instruction is the only way to get it done with this age group. There are too many screens as it is.Chess Scholars claimed that this situation is out of their control that they couldnt hold classes - and how is this my problem? You promised a service, which was not delivered. I dont care what the circumstances are. I paid for a service, which I didnt receive - end of story. I want my refund!Furthermore, you claim that according to your policy you only issue refunds due to low enrollment? Well, guess what? I spoke to the parents and there was only 1 child that attended your virtual class, where you require at least 6, therefore there was not sufficient enrollment either. According to your policy you need to issue refunds. Or did your policy change with the virtual classes now? This is a scam and thievery trying to hold on to $162 dollars of my hard earned money. I will be sure to let all of the parents that Ive recruited in the past know of my experience. My family and friends will never do business again with Chess Scholars and their parent companies Afterschool Enrichment Solutions and Fambro Management LLC!!
