Southern High did an amazing job through the 2020-2021 pandemic school year. Thank you teachers!

Sorry, but I struggle with anxiety and going back to school isn’t for me. One of my family members (not saying his name so he doesn’t sue my family..) is a part of the Board of Education and he actually wanted us to go back to school, even when there is a brand new strand of COVID that could potentially hurt us worse than the original stand did. I’m disappointed in my own family. I also have a horrible teacher in one of my classes and in the same subject last year, my teacher was even worse. She doesn’t care for mental health or the kids well beings. Especially not mine. Please ABSS, let us have no in person learning at least until the next school year. Is there really a point in letting people take the risk? Small children may not be as contagious, but middle school/high school students most certainly are. For anyone reading this review, don’t be surprised when you see the next live school board meeting. All the men and women there just like to talk. They probably have their kids in a private school! I feel sorry for Dr. Benson honestly... smh.

Alexander wilson (part of abss) is amazing, teachers are loving and kind. Both of my kids have attended this school for 6 years, k-5.... even after remote learning began, they have done all they can to connect and show how much they care for their students! Definitely would recommend this school to anyone who has a child!

Ive been in the alamance burlington school system my while life, and I can say that its not that great. Ive had some great teachers, but the school system in a whole doesnt look out for whats best for thier students. A lot of other countys have gone back to school and have had minimal problems. While alamance county students are sitting at home with thier mental health going down the drain. We need human interaction, and honestly I would rather risk the virus than sit at home for another semester.

Rachel, the EC/Pre-K social worker, has worked with my nephew and was fantastic with him. He is typically very shy and he warmed right up to her. She is great with children!

Very disappointed that they let a year go by with no in person learning. ABSS put politics before the kids.

Terrible school district all around. My children went to South Graham Elementary and I had to pull them out because it was that bad. My children reported rodents in the classrooms and cockroaches crawling across the food in the cafeteria. The majority of staff is extremely incompetent and the second and third grade teachers are especially bad. I found out that the male second grade teacher actively posts on Snapchat during class time. Most of the second and third grade teachers are downright nasty to the students and constantly yell at the kids. Don’t even get me started on the principal. Ms. Stamper is the most horrible, unprofessional principal that I have ever come across. She has no business running a school. She is inconsistent, uncaring, inattentive, and spends a lot of time not even at the school. There have been many complaints against her and ABSS has done absolutely nothing about it. Do not send your child here.

Logical dude at a meeting: In order to ensure our students education and success in life we should change the way we teach and teach them about taxes, investing, and the economy.Other people: Nah lets give them 15 standardize tests.

If schools are going to reopen during this pandemic, its the faculty and staff that need to move from area to area. Not the students! Schools that have reopened have already proved our children will not be safe.

Went and registered two children. Had to come back to get verification of an address due to the children living temporarily with another family member. Gave the lady the info. Asked her if she realized it was for two children and if she had everything she needed. She was nonchalant, not making eye contact and acted as if she didnt care. But stated it was for two kids and yes I have everything. Welllll, Guess who got an email stating one of the kids werent registered?? Last minute had to go back bc the lady (Admin. Assistant) did not enter it for both kids. Smh. Piss poor customer service. If this is how the school system is God bless the kids attending their schools.

These school systems suck, Im not gonna lie. We have work shoved down our throats, even if we dont want it. Ive learned nothing, exept for in math, and I wont use half of that in life. Not to mention EVERY good music sight is blocked, just let us listen to music and well do our work! ABSS needs to stop worrying on what music were listening to, and what clothes were wearing, and start worrying on what were learning
