I called this school to sign up my two children. One of my children has an IEP. I decided to ask if the school would accommodate my child to which I was met with a no because they could not provide basic services. Services that any public school in the states can provide with no issues. The IEP asked for nothing out of the ordinary. Anyways…after Mrs. Vázquez says no, she then decided to laugh about how I didn’t teach my children Spanish and how her dad taught her Spanish. Needless to say…her school isn’t or wasn’t suited to help a child that didn’t know Spanish or needed a little help as required by an IEP. This is a bilingual school which is why I reached out to them. Mrs. Vazquez might seem professional, but there is nothing professional about her. Mocking a parent over the phone for not teaching their child a second language isn’t right. Specially when she has no knowledge about a family’s past and reasons why it never happened. Worst experience ever. I think she said no to the IEP to keep the school grades high. She discriminated against my daughter because to her a child with an IEP isn’t worthy of her school.I decided to reach out to Caguas Private School and they were awesome. The principal gave us a tour of the campus and was able to accommodate my children with no excuses or issues regarding their lack of Spanish knowledge or my daughters IEP.
