Surfin Fire was a dream come true ! All my son wanted for his birthday was to see the ocean for the first time and go surfing. JP and his crew delivered in the best way. Not only did they let my sons drop in last minute but they really took the time to show them technique and make the most of their short time. My boys had a blast, we are so grateful and cant wait to visit again !

I had both my boys Ryan 12, Tyler 10 and a buddy enrolled for the week! Great experience! My boys are in Junior Lifeguards and always wanted to surf but what happened at this camp was unbelievable. The improvement from rank beginners to riding 3-4 ft surf was incredible for the older boys. My younger son became the whitewater king and started to get in the hook his last few days. JP runs a quality, fun and very reasonably priced camp. His instructors were excellent and very knowledgeable and considerate. Special shout out to Jackson for really upping my older sons game! We will definitely being attending the camp again!

I wanted to take some lessons in Oceanside where they have a sales point. The surf museum gave me their phone number that I called. I had a guy that didn’t get what I wanted and hang up. I call back to explain again I wanted to surf (what this time he understood) and he said every shift where full for the day. He proposed me to schedule a lesson the day after at 10:30 ( what I agreed even if I planned something else) . The day after, nobody was at the meeting point. I called back to the same number. And the guy said he tried to call me back but he had a wrong phone number (no comment...) because he was not that sure I was still OK (unbelievable ...). As a compromise he proposed to come over at the meeting point within 30 minuntes if I paid in cash. After 1 hour, still nobody and no anwser to my phone call.JUST NOT SERIOUS.If you don’t want to work, just say it !!

I’m 40 years old and have been struggling to teach myself to surf over the last year. I received a recommendation to contact Surfin Fire and I’m so glad that I made the call. My instructor, Devin, was incredible. Very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and eager to teach. Within minutes I caught the best wave of my life and later was able to make my first turn. I surpassed my last year of surfing knowledge and experience in a single two hour session. Surfin Fire has my highest recommendation.

My son and his best friend who both have Down Syndrome went to Surfin Fire surf camp this week and had the best time!!! It was an inclusive environment where they both honed their surfing skills and made new friends. The counselors were amazing and made it an excellent experience for both of them!!! We will definitely be doing this camp again.

My kids had a fantastic camp experience with Surfin Fire. The instructors were attentive, sweet and knowledgeable. My kids were on the very young side (4 and 6) and had a great time, both getting up on their boards and wanting to go back again and again. Well be back and highly recommend.

We were in town for a soccer showcase and new to the area. It was a last minute decision for eight kids ranging in age from 6 to 14 to try surfing. The owner worked her magic to get us three instructors and all the gear in a timely fashion. She made sure we had detailed instructions for parking and where to meet on the beach. She checked in with me several times to make sure the kids were having fun.The kids had a BLAST. We got great photos and video. It was a really great time for them and memories to last a lifetime. Plan on going back next year when we return.

First off, I want to mention I did have a good instructor. He knew his sport and was very patient. The problem was with the Oceanside location--it is far from optimal for lessons--especially for a beginner (this was my second lesson). The area used for lessons is a pretty narrow stretch next the pier, so I often found myself getting too close to the swimming area. I had near collisions a couple of times. The beach is also very rocky so I was constantly stubbing my toes and stepping on sharp stones. One time I fell off the board and slammed my knee against a rock. Luckily my wet suit cushioned the blow a little, but it still hurts after a week. The water in this area was very choppy with cross current waves, so we had to wait a bit between (attempted) rides for a decent wave.I wish I had been asked my experience, etc. when Id signed up for the lesson so that management could have recommended which of their three locations would be best for a novice like myself. I was also disappointed that the company didnt do any follow up after the lesson. At this point Im not sure if surfing is in my future. If I do decide to take more lessons Im going to do my homework by calling different companies and asking A LOT of questions BEFORE I buy another lesson.

We are from Arizona and arranged for our teenage son to surf every day of his spring break. JP could not have been more accommodating, and our son had a great experience. The instructors are responsible, skilled, and personable, and the gear is top quality. We have no criticism, and no reservation giving this 5 star review. We expect our son to surf with Surfin Fire this summer and look forward to seeing his improvement in the sport.

When I signed my daughter up for a two hour class, I never expected she would actually spend that time surfing. Alex was amazing and had my daughter up and surfing right away. She cant wait to take another lesson with him. It looked like so much fun, I might have to try next!

For the last 5 years Surfin Fire has donated their time to teach the students i work with how to surf. The students that attend our school have autism and other developmental disabilities and each year i am amazed at the progress they make in the water because of the phenomenal staff that work for Surfin Fire. Not only are they kind enough to spend an entire day to teach 40 of our kids, but they are masters in patience and teaching kids at their own pace. Thank you Surfin Fire! You make a difference in the world!!! A lot of these kids wouldnt have ever done this if it werent for you guys.

My son participated in a Surfin Fire event this week, and he had a BLAST! All of the staff of Surfin Fire were pleasant, joyful and hard-working! While their highest priority seemed to be the safety of our kids, this did not detract from making the surfing experience a lot of fun. Some surfing camps seem to involve only a couple of runs, either because it takes so much effort to get out in the water & get a good wave or because the kids start getting cold after a while in the water. Either all the conditions were perfect for us or these guys just really have their act together, but my son had so many runs, I lost count .. he was surfing constantly for a good 40 mins! I cant say enough good things about the group .. they really made my sons day!

Ridiculous!!! I called in this morning and reserved a spot for 5 people that are from around the country and will be leaving tomorrow. Half an hour before, I walked over to check if I needed to fill out anything and the guy said no and an instructor would be ready for us at our reserved time. We walked over there, and they told us the main office never contacted them and all the spots were filled up. They said there was nothing they could do. This ruined a part of our vacation and I am extremely disappointed with this company. I have waited years to go surfing in California, and now we will never have the opportunity.
