Went to the rakow center and its s a decent place. Usually clean. The pool is nice. Locker rooms were decent to the only thing that bother me is I took the baby swim lessons (aqua babes) and they didnt really teach us anything or do anything with us. I get 6onths old cant do a whole lot but the instructors would say hi and then we just went on our own. I could have done that myself. Wish it was more involved. Hopefully there other activities and classes are not like this. Most of the staff didnt know what was going on either. I bought a punch pass for the pool and they acted like they never seen it before

Responding to Janet B. comments. I had a similar experience with some of the young girls at the front desk, but theyre not all like that. The first few times checking in to workout, there was a young girl playing on her phone, computer, or picking her nose, and I felt it was inconvenient for her to check me in. There were other people who greeted me with out hesitation, and wish me a good workout. I primarily go there for the variety of equipment, and tracks to run on. There are some staff that are kind and friendly, and being a veteran a warm welcome is important.

Nice weighing machines and their personnel were professional. Very good place to do some work out. Very perfect for everyone.

Although smaller than the Randall Oaks facility it still offers many different types of group fitness classes. The indoor track is great when the weather is bad. Do consider joining the Dundee Park District!

Where do I begin? Simply put ..awful experience at this facility.Would never return, much less sign up as a member. Absolutely no greeting or attention from staff. Would never return. Mr. Peterson I strongly urge your staff to observe Alicias excellent people skills displayed at the Randall Oaks facility. She treated us like FAMILY!

I am at the Rakow Center nearly every day. I like it. The people who work there are all very friendly, and the facilities are serviceable, but not great.Depending on the time and day it can either be incredibly busy or a ghost town.The fitness room has 5 or 6 treadmills, 3 different types of elliptical machines for a total of 5, 2 stair climbers, and a handful of stationary bikes of various design. None of these machines have a television screen of its own. Instead all of these cardio machines are facing two TV screens that are usually set on a 24 hour news channel (Fox News or CNN) and The Food Network. The last things I want to watch when exercising is Fox News and Diners Drive Ins and Dives, but that is what they show. They will change the channel for you if no one is watching those.They have the usual weight room machines and free weights. Most of these machines are in good shape. There is also a small padded area for sit-ups and stretching, but this is only enough room for one or two people.Ive only been there once when the fitness room was really busy, and the entire room developed a strong odor, to the point where I had to cut my workout short. So, I guess air circulation isnt great.

I go here 4 times a week for lap swimming. Great environment everyones very friendly. Nothing like going somewhere where everyone has the same goals, living a better quality of life

My family has enjoyed the zoo, pools, preschool, camps, free walking track and free events. We love the variety and caring staff.

Staff is very nice. This is family friendly. Has programs for children. Has a track, gym, pool, racket ball room, dance studio, and karate.

The Dolphins cove is a decent park district water park built back in the 90s. The facility itself needs a more modern refurbishment BUT has the bare necessities for your cardio and machine lifting

Attended a birthday party at The Senior Center. Nice facility with kitchen, stage, handicap accessible bathrooms, plenty of handicapped parking.

The park district purchased property with tax-payer money and approval including green space for the families in Carpentersville which was proclaimed to be low income housing and a minority population, but they turned around and traded it to Kane County so they could build a 4 lane high speed road. This is not what I consider a good trade for the kids who play there. Now they can go play in traffic? Shameful.

Rakow has water aerobics classes as well as fitness classes & a jacuzzi.. a nice “ treat” after class!

Small center but very friendly staff and patrons. Everything was clean and I was pleasantly surprised to see two large changing rooms in the locker room

The senior center hosts a Halloween party for special needs kids every year. Thats really the only time I visit, but its always well maintained and the kids have a great time.

Its a great place to get in shape. Fair pricing on memberships and it has two centers

Great place for kids!!! My kids really enjoyed the slides and diving boards!!! Can not wait to come back!

I am extremely disappointed with this towns recreation centre, I was disappointed with the gym I was expecting big things with this gym, with prices such as 25 a month for a small location everything feels so cramped youre better off going to planet fitness or some other gyms that only charge 10 dollars a month

The worst place ive ever been to, they kicked us out when we were lap swiming because of my baby brother that is by the way 6 was doing it too. They say hestoo little oh ya and you migth not want to go there because when they talk to you, you feel their tuna salad lunch all over your forehead. This place is the worst this review migth not mean to them but the readers do.
