I graduated this program fall of 2019. Many of the things SUU aviation taught me has helped me greatly in my aviation career so far. You will work hard in this program but this school very much aims to train you to become an aviator rather than just to pass tests. The flight instructors they hire are some of the best I have trained with. They also have an amazing fleet of aircraft that will set you up for great success in your future careers. If you are curious about flying, check out a discovery flight. My biggest warning is that once you have started flying, it will become an addiction. Safe flying out there!

Transferred to another school because fixed wing program sucks. They expect you to quit all your jobs and solely focus on school but then expect you to pay the EXTREME amount of money. Even if you have fafsa or scholarships (which good luck) it’s so much money. Instructors weren’t very sympathetic and it was just not a good experience. The last two bad reviews were my exact situation as well.

Amen to our brother Ryan York down a few reviews. Everything he said is true, helicopter is much more preferred at that suu then fixed wing. They spoil them and leave us to spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars only to either fail the course or continually dig deeper and deeper in debt. We scheduled an appointment with the counselor for financial funds and they didn’t even call for the appointment. Never helped at all.I find it funny too that suu had responded to all the nice comments and none of the bad. 🙄 if you’re going for fixed wing, don’t waste your time and money.

🛑🛑🛑 Over priced and under delivered!!!!! No personal guidance from the instructors, students are just another number and another stream of cash flow. This school definitely favors helicopter students over fixed wing so prepare to feel like the lower person on the totem pole. They have like 30 helicopters and only 12 airplanes. Aircraft are always down for maintenance, and most students are forced into extending their training and paying more $$$ our of pocket. I will say the school has very nice planes but hardly anytime to learn the avionics systems because how many students they push trough their fleet. After everything is said and done prepare to spend around $120,000 for flight training. You can source other training programs for about a 3rd of the cost. and receive way more personal time with the plane and instructor. Lastly this school still has affiliation with people who were involved in the biggest flight school scam in history (National Pilot Academy - 2008) Hundreds of students were scammed out of thousands flight in training funds. “Look it up.” Maybe 2.0 isn’t as crooked but this school will milk you for every dime you have, if they can get away with it.

I have been working here at the Flight school for over 5 yrs now and since SUU has taken over the program it has easily become THE best place I have ever worked at by far!. Fantastic staff and flight program!. SUU Aviation rocks!.. Telly says, Who Loves Ya Baby!!..

I am currently enrolled in the Fixed Wing Program here at SUU. This is my second year flying and I have to say that coming to SUU was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I am not only receiving the best training but the safest training as well. Our Cirrus aircraft are considered to be the safest in the industry due to their advanced safety technology. They are equipped with a what we call a CAPS Parachute system that is currently changing the industry when it comes to safety. I have learned so much within the program from flying the aircraft to maintaining them. SUU is by far the best and the safest program in the industry!

Just finished my solo lab working towards my private pilot in rotor wing. This program is amazing! The instructors are awesome and really want to see you succeed. The management is great and very open and honest. The aircraft are top notch and the maintenance on them is first class! If you ever dreamed of being a pilot check this place out! You start flying immediately and fly a lot.

I am currently a Rotor wing (Helicopter) student here at SUU and my experience has been like no other. I immediately started flying the first week of the semester working toward my private pilot license. The instructors care about your success and will take time out of their day to ensure you are retaining the knowledge required to pass your check ride. Coming out of the military I was not sure what to do, but I knew I wanted to fly. SUU is the number one rotor school in the nation training at the highest density altitude elevation. Coming here to pursue aviation has been the best choice for me to set myself up for a successful future career.

I love working for SUU Aviation as the employees and students are treated with respect and support toward reaching individual goals in aviation. The SUU AVIATION program is well structured and audited to make sure that all students are getting the training they were promised. Oh, and the area is beautiful to see from the sky! I went up through the program from no time to CFI in just over a year. When I started we had some old rusty Piper Archer aircraft that were in maintenance 5 days of the week. Now we have 10 of the nicest and newest aircraft available for flight training in the United States. Throw in the ability to attend college and have a normal life on top of the great training and you have a world class program

Southern Utah University has one of the best flight programs in the nation. They have great instructors, and best of all, they have open skies! SUU owns its own planes, and since Ceder airport is very small and they offer an ingenious scheduling program, students can easily get in their valuable flight hours better than an other program. They love veterans!

SUU is the college of choice for anyone looking for a great aviation experience, as well as anything and everything to do outdoors. Cedar City Regional Airport is the home of SUUs aviation program. This is great considering the airfield is at an elevation of 5,622 feet. meaning SUU is the highest elevation flight school in the nation. On top of this Cedar City has almost constant winds and unpredictable weather year round. If you come hear you will be training in conditions the rest of the worlds flight schools can only simulate.

SUU Aviation is the cream of the crop when it comes to Aviation schools. The instructors and staff work tirelessly to support students on their path to the aviation industry. The facilities and equipment SUU offers to their student pilots are expertly maintained by an outstanding team of mechanics. SUU Aviation is very professional and cool. And sometimes I find snacks there, the blonde that works in Admin will share her snacks if she likes you.

I just applied for the Rotary program starting Spring 2021. I am pumped to get accepted and start. IhI had nothing but good experiences so far!

Excellent Aviation training facility, the staff are always professional and helpful, the aircraft are always in top shape, and the instructors will always go above and beyond to make sure you get the right training. Im very glad that I was able to attend this program.

I know a lot of people who are in the program and work at SUU Aviation and they all love the program . Also I see SUU Aviation represented at all the community events and have a great presents in town .
