Not a good school. I do not recommend this school for the grades 6th-12th This school lacks the proper safety protocols such as fire drills, shelter in place and lock downs. This also does NOT support any government scholarships. Including the promise program. I missed out on a full ride because of this school. Contacting select teachers is almost impossible, they never respond. It seems as if the staff only pay attention when the parents get involved. Also the curriculum is about 2 year behind and dual credit math is not supported. Do yourself a huge favor and choose a different school.

VERY TERRIBLE SCHOOL! School is very disorganized, lunch is very poor, and teachers cannot teach. It honestly feels as thought the teachers only come to get their money and leave. First day of school was very hectic and they punish you for things that are out of you control such as being tardy. I very much do not recommend coming here unless you want to waste years of you life when you could go somewhere else that is much better.

My first year at Newman I’m putting 2 stars because it needs improvement but there are some good things.I will start with the improvements:First of winter is stiff and there is no winter coats then there is no athletics everyday, lunch needs improvement, walking through campus but teachers are always wondering what students are doing even tho I’m 2 minutes early, also the school needs money because there is no stage and needs to make a football field, and make the baseball field smaller and make another one for varsity so as for football, soccer, and softball. The only good things of the school is that it has all sports and the high level of teaching is nice.

I had been attending Newman for about four years and i can honestly say that it has not improved in those four years. the curriculum that they are teaching is so behind that when i went to a new school this year i had to take summer classes to be able to understand that schools work.

We are international students and our daughters arrived at Newman with very little English. They were so careful dealing with the girls. The ESL program, the teachers, the staff and the students were always willing to help and support them while learning the language. Today, almost a year later, they feel at home! Thanks Mr. Matthew for your wonderful team!

My son is in the 10th grade at Newman Cedar Hill. He is in special education classes as well as general education classes. The special education department has truly made an impact on my sons academic career. Mr. Davis has become a positive role model for him. He guides him, teaches him life skills and keeps him motivated. Mrs. Arroyo has helped him with resources to support him in his classes. I am truly thankful and feel blessed to have him at Newman. Thank you teachers for all you do!

My son has been a student at Newman for three years. We love the nurturing environment at the school. We believe our son is safe and that the staff and teachers really care about him as a person, as well as his academic performance. 5 stars!

So this French teacher named, Ms.Gardner. Told my parents that, “After much testing in French, we have enjoyed a very funny French movie.  I have been giving students questions at the end of each class to see how attentive they have been. She has refused to comply and has been given several infractions for disobedience.I feel that her bad attitude and refusal to participate will result in her failing the class.She was warned that doing this would result in an infraction and a “0” on the questions I ask the class at the end. “. So now I’m having to switch schools. Which I am and not okay with. I will dearly miss my friends who have been there with me and the good memories. But the school was never good. Plus Ms. Gardner can get fired for talking to a fellow student very rude. But that’s ok because I will not have to put up with her no more. Newman doesn’t care for you child’s health or future but about they money and getting popular.

Newman International Academy of Cedar Hill cares about your childs individual needs! The staff there will go out of their way to support your childs education. The reason is purpose. The Staff is highly dedicated to the purpose of raising up a generation that has compassion and knowledge. If you enroll your child here, you will not regret it.

Last year was my kids first year, so far we LOVE it! The road could be improved but other than that we are very happy here.

The school itself is ok. Some teachers seem to like their jobs and like the kids but others seem to just be there for a check. The superintendent is clueless to this campuses needs in my opinion. She thinks that every campus is the same and should have the same rules across the board. The suggestions of the parents fall on deaf ears. There are many kids leaving the school cause the parents are fed up with the nonsense going on. One example is the campus is a university campus so the kids have to walk out in the open to get to their classes. When it rained the kids werent allowed to wear rain boots because theyd be out of uniform. Another thing is that if its 10 degrees in the winter the school doesnt allow the kids to wear coats, only very thin windbreaker jackets.. But the teachers and principals are all bundled up for the cold. Save yourself a lot of headaches and avoid this school if you can. Looks like its homeschooling for my kids.

The atmosphere is so warm and loving. The teachers truly care about each and every child. The academics are strong and your child will thrive in this environment!

Nich is a wonderful place to work. Love the staff & students. The high school students are polite & open doors for me when I am entering the school. It is wonderful to have a student to respond to me with yes mam! The staff is so knowledgeable. I’ve worked in many schools & this is the first school which is God based! Nich is a wonderful protective school for students to learn & grow!

My daughter has fallen in love with this school!! I love the atmosphere it creates the genuinely goodness of school! She brags about all her new teachers, never thought that was possible! Deserves more than 5 💫s My daughter has a history of being in special classes & now being in this school she has been excelling like never before please pray GOD continues to bless her!!

I agree with a prior comment that no school is perfect. All schools have something that you may or may not like. Some of My concerns while deciding on a school was classrooms being overcrowded with undisciplined children. Also, uniformed, a school that is faith based and after school care. This is my daughters first year at NICH and it was a good year. This academy was highly recommended by a retired school teacher whos grand children attended the full four years under Mr. Matthews. Some policies that I would like improved quickly is when the weather is cold or freezing that the students be allowed to wear appropriate clothing beside a school logo jacket. One sick student can be contagious to the whole classroom including the instructor. Also, the all white sneaker policy and cafeteria food need improvement. I bought alot of shoe polish and she took her lunch to school the full year. Other than those few, I like the academy.

I really love the atmosphere of the school and the difference it has made in our daughter. The only reason, I am giving a 4 star is because the lunch can be better, theres no library, and I wish they would change white shoes dress code, thats hard on a parents pocket, because white get dirty so easily, maybe all black shoes will work so much better.

Ive attended Newman for 3 years and i all i can say is this school is one of the worst schools in Cedar hill, the academics are horrible in terms of teaching wise. the teachers genuinely hate the students and are not willing to teach them. The uniform policy is extremely bad, The lunch is low quality. And the students have no morals. they make you walk far distances in the cold with really weak jackets. This school truly makes you dread waking up every morning, the environment is poor. and teachers here have really low standards.

This will be our second year at NICH and my daughter loves it there. Coming from Kyle (Austin)Texas it was a big transition for an 8th grade girl, she wanted to be home schooled. In a week there she was at home and totally loved the school. For the first time she was not picked on at school. She received a lot of help from Mrs. Stevenson a super math teacher that is there after school each day tutoring her student ( she loves math now). Ms. Coronado challenges her accelerated interested in science, and the entire staff is very nurturing. The campus is beautiful with the lovely ponds and historical buildings. It is a is a wonderful learning environment.

NICH has been extremely helpful to our family in the way that our daughter was accepted as a Sophomore after her freshman year as a homeschool student. We have noticed that many of the staff really care about the students and work overtime to invest in their lives. We also have seen that the school has grown quickly in number. This makes it difficult to constantly enforce all the rules. Therefore, some students which could be removed because of their behavior remain at the school. This is not so much a reflection on the Newman system, but rather is a challenge that were there are people who wish to help, some do come into the system and take advantage of the system. Again, we deeply appreciate all the time and care that was given to our daughter.

All 3 of our school age children go here. We were returning to school after home schooling for five years so we were nervous. Its a breath of fresh air and has been a real blessing to our family. We love Newman!

NICH has been a great fit for my son who is being challenged academically in a friendly and structured environment.

-I have two girls in middle school at NICH.-The staff, teachers and admin care about all the students.-Students that continuously break rules will be suspended, which is good thing in my book.-A loving Christian environment - worth the drive.

My kids have been here since day 1 (2nd grade, 4th grade, & 12 grade). My son was 1 of 5 of the first graduates from NICH! We love Mr. Mathews and all the secondary teachers that helped him succeed. The campus is absolutely beautiful!

I do not recommend this school, if your child needs help, this is not the school for you and they are under staffed. My two sons went for 4 years, I should have took them out the second year when the student ratio tripled.

As a student myself that attends the school in 2017-2018 and 2918-2919 its pretty fun but its really streaked and you have to walk class to class and sometimes its really unfair for some students I recommend this school if ur child has behavior problems at school but good a home

I went there before i went to Tennessee it is a nice school and the forest people can say its bad but the teachers care about you and they will help you if you need help i was there once and i had a giant nose bleed and they helped me so its really good too so send your kids to it

The teachs just do not care about the students. Their more concerned about the color of your earrings then your child’s education, they do not deserve to be called a school
