Really great school that instills all the core values of Taekwondo. The instructors and staff really work hard to keep the school clean, organized, and professional. On top of all that they make sure the students are also having fun! Highly recommend checking out the school.

Master Barrett’s ATA school is phenomenal. My wife and I enrolled my oldest daughter a few years ago and have been so pleased ever since. Our daughter has grown so much in confidence, self-defense abilities, and overall life skills. Master Barrett is a very experienced, super-accomplished martial artist in her own right, and has a superb staff that matches her professionalism, passion, and focus. I have personal experience in ATA as a student & instructor so I knew what I was looking for in a school. I highly recommend Barrett’s ATA for both children and adults.

Cathy and I had the pleasure of seeing Chantel and Nick at this ATA school they have built. As a ATA Green Belt I was very impressed with the layout of this school. Also during Covaid times we were very impressed with how hard they work to ensure the facility is clean and safe for all students and guests. If your looking for a great learning experience with high quality instructors then you have come to the right place.

My son started at ATA December of 2017. He was an introvert and we wanted to make him more outgoing in preparation of going to public schools and making new friends. In the last 1.5 years we have seen a drastic change in our son and his confidence level. He knows how to defend himself and says Leave me alone or Get away from me to strangers. We love the instructors and staff at ATA, they know each childs strength and weakness and provide special attention to friends that need it.

Barretts is a great place for kids to learn martial arts and life skills. They are doing a great job with COVID-19 procedures.

After my son started the Tiger Tots program, I got to see what a positive teaching environment Master Barrett has built here. My two older girls started classes shortly after, and even I began training. Weve now been involved here since Spring 2017, and will stay through black belts for all the kids, at the very least. The program teaches so much more than self defense and martial arts; each cycle focuses on a different character trait (respect, communication, discipline etc.,) and the teachers all are truly called to their vocation. All of the staff are people that I trust and appreciate, they are kind, helpful and always happy to welcome new faces. The other students act as great role models. When visiting nearby businesses (like half price books) in uniform, we always hear comments about how ATA students are always so well behaved from the employees. My kids have found a home away from home, and Im grateful for the role models and family atmosphere that we have discovered here.Ask about their family program- keeps tuition down for multiple family members!

Barrett’s ATA is an incredible school! Not only do the staff members and owners care about each student and their training, they will go out of their way to help the students reach their goals. For example, before I got my black belt through them, Mrs. Mascari worked extra after classes with me to make sure I learned my forms and could pass them off before the test. Having that level of support was crucial to reaching my goals, and I could not have done it without her, Master Barrett, and my training partners. There is a family atmosphere within the school, and training during my teen and young adult years has been so important in increasing my confidence and sense of belonging.I will also say just as a side note: It’s so cool training in the teen/adult classes with the new teenagers and seeing how marital arts affects them. You can see their self-confidence and respect grow with each belt they earn. Definitely would recommend for anyone wanting to add some structure to their life. It teaches respect, commitment, self-worth, and self defense!

I participated in Barretts ATA Martial Arts beginners on-line class of Krav Maga. Not only did I have a blast and get a good workout, I learned a few self defense moves! The instructor, Master Barrett, was easy to follow, answered all questions and explained things clearly with demonstrations to help us follow through on our own. Im looking forward to many more of these classes! Im so glad they offer on-line training!

We were so excited when we found this place. Its close by, has great reviews, and the facility is set-up to handle classes for little ones. Our daughter is 2 1/2 and weve been dying to get her into Martial Arts, its very important to us to start her in learning to defend herself as soon as possible.Unfortunately things did not work out due to lack of communication and poor customer service. We were told to come in for a free trial class and to be there at 4:30 for the 4:45 Wednesda class. We arrived about 5-10 minutes early and my 2 1/2yr old decides she has to go potty and Im 6 months pregnant and its 100+ degrees outside. The hours of operation on the door say 4PM-9PM, I call the front desk (because the door is locked) and ask to speak to someone. One of the women that work there answer the door and refuse to let us come in to use the restroom because they are still in a staff meeting. So we walked a few doors down and used the restroom at the ice cream parlor. They didnt open the doors till almost 4:45, then WHY was I told to be there by 4:30?The class, teacher, and rest of the staff were nice enough and we REALLY REALLY wanted to get her started in martial arts so we signed up for the $59/8 Class pack. We would have enrolled her in the school to start with but she was pretty shy and just sort of stood there the whole first class. We thought $59 and 8 classes should give her enough time to warm up to the teachers and tell us if shes ready for something like this. We were asked what days of the week we were most likely to come and we explained Mon. and Wed. were best but there may be some time in the next few weeks it might not work since we are preparing for me to take maternity leave and my husband to take some time off with me. We were given the impression this wouldnt be a problem and were excited to come back for classes.Sadly today (a Monday) was supposed to be her third class and we are unable to make it because we arent feeling well. We have now been told that we will lose that class enitrely and will not only get 7 of the 8 we paid for and that they dont allow make-up classes for a trial period. I calmly and cooly explained to Ms. Vaughn that that is not what we were told and that we were very disappointed. I explained to her what we were told at time of sign-up, and also what happened the day we came for our initial trial class. Its not $59 Im worried about, in reality thats a great price and good deal BUT communication and working with your customers IS a big deal. I do not understand why they will not allow us to either come on a Saturday or just add that day to the end of our schedule. We REALLY REALLY wanted this place to work out and to enroll her at the end of her trial BUT if this is how the relationship STARTS I cant imagine how things would go down the road. I grew up taking Taekwondo and Shui Huo Kung Fu so it was important for my daughter to have the same experiences I had. Well because of poor customer service and poor communication her journey will not be had with Barretts ATA.
