Im currently a student at Fortis college in my last term. I must say that yes it is rough but at the end of the day all the teachers I have had were good to me. Mainly the MA DIRECTOR. Without her i honestly dont think I would have made it this far. If she didnt push me everyday to study and look things up I would not be doing well in my externship or class. I love her!

Would have really liked to go here, as it is a close to home convenient location with many degree programs. However, as soon as I submitted my email and phone number asking for information I was bombarded with out of state phone calls trying to get to know me better then wanting to connect me with an advisor at the school. I just had basic questions about how long the program will take and how much the costs are. Also wanting to know if they do internships or place students in hands on practice. I was never given any answers and just pushed into making an appointment to answer my questions and asked to bring a friend or family member with me who might also be interested in going to Fortis. Nothing but a scripted sales pitch. Not personal not helpful just pressure into signing up.

I had a HVAC system installed by Fortis College. They did a great job. I cant express in words how happy I am with there work. To make things even better they did not charge a dime. So at the end of the day I ended up with a professionally installed system for the cost of the system with no labor added. The guys that came out worked hard and were very polite. I would recommend this school. Thanks for all the hard work.

If you have the determination and are a diligent person, Fortis College can be quite beneficial. This school offers classrooms that are smaller than many universities and community colleges which allows the students to bond and create lasting professional relationships. I attended Fortis College from 2011 to 2013 and graduated with my Associates Degree of Applied Business (Paralegal Studies) and it has only made my path more clear. Education is something very important to me and this school offers a step in the right direction. The classrooms have real world technology and you are given projects that reflect real world situations. I urge people to come in and look at the school and make a decision based on what YOU think about it and do not let others discourage you! You cannot put a price on your future!

Fortis was the worst decision of my life. The nursing program is not credited or they are on probation. The teachers are not experienced, its too expensive and NICE PLACES DO NOT HIRE FROM TECH SCHOOLS. The financial aid department did not know what they were talking about. One semester there (where my credits did not transfer) was a waste of $6,000.

I graduated from the online program on April 19, 2015. The career service department help me get my resume updated and posted it for me. I had companies calling me for job interviews in just a couple days and was hired to work at a wonderful doctors office in ten day from completing my degree in the field I went to school for. I put in the work to get thru the program and career services did the same to help me find my job.

Going to this college was the biggest mistake of my life, not only is it more expensive than other colleges they DO NOT help you find a job. I got hired at my internship and was laid off 3 months later due to business finances, I called Fortis because they said they would always be there to help us find a job but they never returned my calls, another girl I graduated with said the same thing and is currently only working part time. I am now making more money at the retail job I mistakenly left for college. All this school did was put me even more in debt. Maybe if you go for nursing or HVAC but the paralegal program will get you nowhere.

Fortis College is a waste of all time and money they dont care about you they only care if your white they dont care about black people they will not help you with your work. They dont even deserve a star they only care about they self. The teachers are never in the classroom to help you. if you have a learning disability they wont care to help you even if you bring in documentation that you have a learning disability. I was in the medical assistant program and my GPA was dropping and they did not help they told me about it but they didnt help to get it back up for the medical assistant program do not go to fortis college!!! Im speaking from medical assistant only!! I do not know about nursing or anyting else. Please please please for whoever reading this dont waste your time and your future go somewhere else!! And if you go to the president of fortis college about the medical assistant teachers all they gone do is look at you till you blue in the face. they are NOT going to listen to you you can sit down and talk to them all you want but theyre going to look at you until youre blue in the face literally they dont care its all about the money medical assistant teachers are terrible and I hope that they are looking at this and they should be ashamed of themselves!! because I should not writing this

I love Fortis College! The career service administration is wonderful. Jennifer Knoth was my career service advisor and she made sure that I had a job and felt obligated to help me as much as she could with finding employment. I also admire the advisors they really cared! I will suggest Fortis College to anyone searching for a college.

If I could give Fortis half a star, I would. I am in the cyber program and the material the teachers teach is not up to date. When the A+ cert test switched to the 901-902, Fortis did not provide me or any other student with the new upgraded books. There was a teacher there who would sit and not teach anything for 5 hours and then expect us to complete a quiz. This school is flawed and needs to be closed and condemmed. Also the administration refuses to upgrade student computer equipment. The internet at this college is so slow, so if you have to download a large file for class, its slow and takes hours to download. Its counter productive and waste precious class time.

Look elsewhere for the HVAC program. I went through a new teacher every quarter, They would send us home early, and it felt like they were just there for a pay check. Fortis is expensive (16-20k) for the quality of education you receive. And every time I call the front office, I get forwarded straight to voicemail. Just avoid.

Extremely unprofessional! Fortis Centerville canceled my students GED test appointment without notifying him. When I called to inquire about how this had happened, the Fortis representative refused to take responsibility and was most unhelpful. In the future, I will advise my students to avoid this facility and test elsewhere.

The process for obtaining an official transcript is ridiculous! I have called, faxed and emailed and my transcripts have not been sent. Out of all the schools I have attended this is the worst as far as accessibility and communication. My other transcripts from the other schools were free and took no longer than two days to receive.

This school needs shut down. The instructors in the nursing program are shuffled around from one subject to another to meet the needs of Fortis, some may have little or no experience in that particular specialty. This does nothing but hurt the students who are there to learn. The nursing program has zero structure and term to term you have nothing to go by, this school flies by the seat of their pants. One of our classes went 6 weeks without an instructor at all, we were sent home for every class, once they finally hired a new instructor she had zero teaching experience and told us she got no orientation from Fortis. She was clueless but that was the schools fault not hers. Numerous times we tried speaking to the Dean and others about the poor quality of teaching and the instructors who wanted to teach on experience rather than go by the book, then when we had tests the information was nowhere to be found in the books or from lecture. I strongly suggest that you NOT waste one cent at this joke of a school

Ive been in the HVAC field for over 25 years, I believe that the HVAC program at FORTIS College is second to none. I value the hands on approach that is utilized in this program. Ive employed 16 different graduates from FORTIS since 2011. Ive been impressed with their level of expertise and can do attitude. I will definately hire from this program again.

The Lpn program is great! The Rn program needs work but the real problem with the school is the lack of organization, under staffing, but mostly the problem is the administrative staff. I have attempted to contact the director of the nursing program since Nov 2014 leaving phone calls, emails, and visiting. I had been making weekly calls since Nov and at first the secretary would return my calls but those eventually stopped. Not only are my phone calls not being returned but my email are now not being answered. The dean of the school is shown to be just as bad as the nursing director amongst communication. The schools lack of organization is also evident within its arrangement of Clinical sites for their students. They would not tell students where they would be rotating until the day before or at the most a week before you are scheduled to start the Clinical. It is common to see to be announced on the assignment posting. Plus, I hope you enjoy working at nursing homes because that seems to be the only type of facility that fortis likes to provide to their students. Immunization records and other records would be lost by the nursing office. When you have administrative questions you will be bounced from one person to another because none knows the answer. However, to be fair some teachers there are great but overworked. I imagine the reason Fortis has a high turn over rate with their staff is because they are over worked having more students than they have time. The teachers are willing to help students and I couldnt think of one who ever denied me help. The finance department is pretty good too. For the price you pay at fortis you would expect the equiptment to be unbroken and up-to-date but that isnt the case. The only slightly up-to-date tecnology they have at Fortis is the simulation lab with two dummies being operated by the instructor outside the door. The cost to attend Fortis is WAY expensive much more than a community college but you do not have to take as many prep classes to enter Fortis. My advice if you want to do the lpn program you will be safe. Do the Lpn program and then attend another school to gain your Rn most of the time being an LPN makes it easier to enter the Rn program without being on a waiting list forever. The Rn program is new and does not have all the bugs worked out of the program so proceed with caution.Amy CollinsP.s If you have any other questions feel free to write me.

Do not go to this school! It will throw you further in debt. The staff barely helps you, Ive been attempting to get my transcripts for over a month and most of the credits wont even transfer. Fortis is the biggest scam unless youre going for a trade like HVAC or plumbing I strongly suggest you find a different school.
