L4L is awesome! My oldest has been going there for almost 4 years and we recently enrolled my middle child as well as myself. When my daughter is old enough we will enroll her as well! They teach so much more than martial arts, they teach values, work ethic, respect, integrity and I could go on.. They have been amazing during covid, adapting to these strange times with online classes and graduations as well as drive through belt ceremonies so the kids dont miss out! It is nice to have such a family and community oriented place to be a part of. I highly recommend..

I jumped on the Online Class for my first ever class. I thought they did a really good job with showing us each piece and the specifics for moving our body through it correctly. It was a great way to clear my head, be in movement, and learn something new! Leaders for Life does an incredible job teaching life skills in conjunction with Martial Arts so it gives you a chance to reflect on foundational concepts.I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something that not only brings movement to the body but mindfulness as well :) Take a risk, try something new, and have fun with it :)

We couldn’t be happier with the whole curriculum at this Martial Arts school. The instructors really care about the kids and push them to do their best. My kids are learning valuable skills like teamwork and commitment through their classes in addition to self defense, hand/eye coordination, mental exercise, and strength training. I feel that this program benefits the whole child and we are proud to be part of it! Thank you!

Our granddaughter has been attending L4L for the past few months, she loves it and has been learning a lot. The classes not only teach martial arts they also focus on social skills and how to be a better person. They focus on teaching discipline respect confidence along with fitness. The Master’s Newberry have a great facility with a wonderful group of Master Trainers. So happy we got her involved.

Leaders For Life is so much more than a Taekwondo school. Their primary goal is to prepare the youth and adults to become leaders for life. By teaching life skills along with self defense, the Newberrys and their staff have transformed so many lives and have improved the community immensely.Leaders For Life is a family. When one student succeeds, they all share success. They never compare one student to another in terms in behavior or progress. The goal is to improve their students in all areas of their life.I cannot put into words how great the staff is. Everyone works so well as a team and that team motivates, uplifts, and inspires every student that comes into the school. Our family cant thank the owners and staff enough. Taekwondo days are our favorite days.LEADERS FOR LIFE!

For the longest time, i wanted to sign up my son (age 10) for the Martial Arts classes at the Village Green Pl. I was hesitant, for 2 reasons. 1) I have had bad experiences with other places offering Martial Arts in town, 2)I had to commit to 1 year of participating. Finally went back and signed up my son for their classes. The facility is wonderful, staff are amazingly aware of the human relations, child development, power of encouragement, and confidence building; have created a seamless synergy between the Center, home, and the school environment; offer several options to fit the busy life of the parents. This is quite an achievement that is impossible to reach unless you have loyal staff and management system with good communication. They have had a amazing impact on my son in such a short time and my 5 year old is learning the leadership skills by association (he is not attending.Yet!). Commitment for a year is the only way you can see any meaningful results form what you pay, and compared to other facilities that I have taken my son, their prices are very reasonable. Did I mentioned that I signed up for myself too :-)

We are SO fortunate to have LFL in our community. Our daughter has developed such confidence, resilience and integrity in just over 1 year there. The staff is world class, and CARES. They work with any one, at any level, anytime. The TKD skills our daughter has learned is crazy. She competed in her first tournament today, and placed 1st in 2 events. The instructors are routinely giving kids 1:1 attention, whenever they need it. They also engage with and respond to parents with any questions or converts. Can’t recommend highly enough 👍🏼

My daughter has been a student at the Champaign facility for almost a year. My child was never a pushover, but I can see her confidence level growing as well as her self esteem. After participating in the Leaders for Life program, she is known as a person that can defuse bullying situations in her everyday life.I cannot speak highly enough to the care and concern that the instructors show to every student. I have attended every class as an observer and I see the dedication that each instructor has to creating a safe atmosphere in which to grow as individuals as well as learning the tools with which to defend.

My son and I have been attending classes for a year now. Mr and Mrs Master have been amazing and we have felt like part of the family since day 1. All of the instructors are not only great with students of all ages, but are also very good role models. This isnt just a McDojo, the skills and life lessons they teach are priceless in my opinion. We actually just enrolled in the Leadership program and are very excited to continue our journey in martial arts with Leaders for Life.

My son started a little over two years ago. He is now a recommended second degree black belt. This school has been the best thing for him. He is deaf with a hearing aide and cochlear implant. He has difficulty understanding and teachers at school can be uncaring and not helpful, but at Leaders for Life everyone goes out of their way to make sure he understands and feels a part of the Leaders for Life family. After watching him for six months I decided to join the Leaders for Life family as well. I am now a first degree black belt. I am nearly 50 years old and needed something to challenge me physically and mentally and taekwondo was just the thing! I love going to Leaders for Life because it is so positive and welcoming. Tina and Jeff Newberry make this martial arts school an uplifting, challenging, fun, and inspirational place to be. You are never too old to start, if I can do it anyone can!!

My grandson has been a student there for just over a year. The instructions he receives have enabled him to be at a brown belt level. He truly enjoys his classes. In addition to the martial arts lessons, the students are taught leadership skills. They become much better in their interactions with others. They learn to set their own goals and then strive to meet them. Students are only encouraged to excel. There is no negativism at this facility. Its a cheerful, happy place with taekwondo instructions from beginner through black belt, from learning to defend yourself to competing against students at tournaments all over the country. The instructors keep the students moving so even the students with short attention spans dont get bored. My grand son benefits both physically and mentally from the classes at Leaders For Life Martial Arts in Champaign, il

My daughter asked us repeatedly for two years to take taekwondo. We researched different places, but never felt like the price was worth the investment, to be quite honest. THEN, we moved to Champaign and came across Leaders for Life. For the first time, we found a program that we believed was worth the investment. Taekwondo is not cheap…anywhere! But what we most like about Leaders for Life is that it is more than just a sport. My children are learning life lessons. They are learning how to be leaders at school and at home. They are learning how to be better people. They are learning values that are consistent with what we teach at home. We have support as parents. When my children are struggling, the Newberry’s want to know. They take personal time to meet with my kids and encourage them! They follow up with them to see how they are doing weeks later. They TRULY care for kids and want to see each one of them grow to their fullest potential. You just can’t put a price on someone investing in your child and loving them as much as the Newberry’s do!
