As an employee I can see the day to day of the school and it is an efficiently room school that prepared students to be successful in a diverse and competitive world. With hard working administrators, knowledgeable and compassionate teachers, and very caring support staff, this is an exceptional school for any student to attend.
A good school if you want your kid exposed to the many different diversities in the world, a bad choice if your child hates disgusting bathrooms and less than average lunches, good news is that you can leave school for lunch once youre a junior or senior. Old in architecture but excellent in pride and tradition.
Well, I will say this: I didnt have a terrible high school experience here.
I just want to graduate and get away from drama... ✌
PROS : - Good education, has honors and AP classes- Has a majority of good and supportive teaching staff and administration- Good sports program and a variety of social, honors club and appreciation awards fordeserving kids (seems to have a lot of smart kids too)- local police enforcing safety at all timesCONS: - Really old building - our kids deserve a safe environment to breath - smells moldy insome classrooms and the space to grow to keep up with technology and advances -education and sport wise (kids have to be driven to Centennials facilities)- Very limited safe parking space for new student drivers- 2015 - still without central air conditioning - school closings for extreme summer temps- Considering we have the massive and advanced University of Illinois - Central High is theunderdog . Even smaller towns and elementary education have better and newerfacilities especially the restrooms.- Better lunch caterers, even the pizza is not good according to the kidsThus the 4 Stars. Overall , its a good school.
I highly suggest that your kid go here great school
I loved going to high school here
