This didn’t work out for us. My sons academic performance was not what I hoped for. There was minimal communication from teachers about academics and projects. The teachers mean well but I believe the teacher to staff ratio is far from ideal with respect to addressing the kids emotional, behavioral, and academic progress. 15 kids all with the same issues ( especially aggression) in one class is asking for trouble. My son received two head blows within the span of 2 weeks. The second blow from the same aggressive child ended in a moderate concussion that’s lingering 1.5 months later. I’d seriously consider the risk benefits of this type of school. It has great potential but as I said before, the ratio poses great challenges and safety issues that never really improved in our case. Which is sad because my son loved this school and it’s teachers

Someone mentioned how the web based education failed to meet their standards. Personally I thought it was really great. First the staff was awesome in adjusting to this technical challenge. There was all kinds of problems in the start but the staff just kept adjusting. My sons teacher Rachael and assistant Daren are really great to my Cooper. He will be going in person on Monday to the Chandler Location to finish off the year and he is ultra excited. I can tell these folks actually care about my child.

Our son comes home happy and has picked up life skills in very quick fashion. His teacher is very hands on and is vested in her students development. If your goal is to get your child off the spectrum, AAED is a critical piece to that puzzle. The shutdown was handled well by the faculty and staff however it would have been nice to get in-person classes going sooner. I understand their hands are tied but special ed has no place online. Further autonomy from the local school board should be a consideration.

After years at our previous school we had grown accustom to a staff and administration whose first priority was always the kids. We moved to Autism Academy because of the promises that were give during our tour and because we might be able to develop a community. After only two month we have discovered that this school is not what it promised at all. Autism Academy is nothing more than a business, pure and simple. While I do believe the school has some caring people working there, the administration only cares about protecting them selves, the employees and the bottom line. Their only quick reaction was not to correcting wrong doing but to try and keep it under raps. If you have kid and you are concern for their safety and well being expect to be removed from the school for bring it up. Stay away from this school! The more we ask the worse the stories get. Look at the state complains, research local online autism groups. You will find all that you need to know. Also multiple of the 5 star reviews on google are from employees not parents.

Our son attended this school for about 4 months. In that time he was switched classrooms 3 times. Unfortunately we found this school isnt equipped to work with autistic children who are more severe. We decided to move into the Gilbert Public School District and enroll our son into their Spice program. He is making amazing gains. If you have an autistic child who needs more help I highly recommend the GPS Spice program.

My son hated school until I got him into this program. His teacher is amazing and all the staff are very caring and very helpful. My son has grown and learned more at this school in half a year than 3 years at public school. I would recommend this school to any parent whose child is on the spectrum and is struggling in regular school.

I made the BEST decision placing my son, Blake Young, at the Autism Academy. There is no person at Autism Academy that is not dedicated to our children. It starts off for us at the drop off. Blake smiles and is happy. I feel Blake is safe, secure and getting the best of the best from Autism Academy. Blake also has OCD. When I pick him up sun, rain etc.. he has to look at himself a couple of times in the window before he gets in and they smile. I know they have difficult days but when I pick up Blake they have the same smile and happiness they had in the morning. That is when you know you made the right choice. We are blessed to have Autism Academy. No matter what they understand.

This is an awesome school & the teachers, aides, principal, & office staff are amazing. My son has excelled in everyday during the nearly 3 years he has been attending the academy. Great work in a safe, relaxed, effective atmosphere.

Two years ago we removed our Son from the Gilbert campus, after he sustained an unexplained injury. The injury was clearly caused by an unknown Female Staff member, who failed to come forward. If your Child is low functioning and non verbal … BEWARE !
