People may think they cant do this! WRONG...you can! People may feel intimidated to come to an MMA gym! DONT BE....You can!. Matt has created an atmosphere that is friendly and conducive to learning. Someone with little to no experience can come here; and, you will be welcome, you WILL LEARN and you will leave more confident, in better shape, and with a usable skill. I have been going in this GYM since 2007. Soon as I found this GYM i realize that this is the place that I can learn real martial art and add to some of my skills. Stuff and all instructors are amazing. Matt Robinson and Rafaelo Olivera they are the most humble and most professional instructors I ever met in Charleston. I love Charleston Krav Maga and MMA GYM. Charleston Krav Maga is staffed with professionals that have created a welcoming atmosphere for the beginner right up to the experienced. After the first initial visits, you quickly start feeling like part of a family. Your not just a number, everyone knows everyone. Everyone also helps out whenever possible. Being a military member, you know the importance of this after having to deploy and walking right back into the family. I was visiting Charleston on a business trip and was looking for a place to visit for a BJJ class. I reached out to Charleston Krav Maga & MMA by email.Ashley responded very quickly and was very welcoming! The location was convenient, the gym was clean, they have showers and lockers (which is more than Im used to).But, the most impressive thing to me was the facilities they had available. They have 2 huge mats, a full weight gym, and an octagon. I really couldnt believe it.Rafaelo Olivera was extremely helpful and welcoming as were his students. We worked some new drills I hadnt seen before and I was absolutely able to implement what I learned when I got back to my regular class Monday night.If I lived anywhere near Charleston, Id already be a member. :) I cant wait to visit again.

I was only there for a short time but this is a solid gym who really cares about their members. I had never done anything like Jujitsu before and they really took their time and helped me understand what I was doing and why.They also helped me with some contract issues that I ran into because of my own negligence, breaking the infamous gym membership stereotype. Id highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a great workout with great people.

Fantastic place to train and grow as a martial artist. The on site staff is the best around, and they regularly bring in top level BJJ black belts for seminars. These are the least expensive seminars you will ever attend. The ownership keeps everything affordable and fun. I have never had an issue with the payment service. I had to take 5 months off due to an injury and they froze my account with one phone call and unfroze it 5 months later with another single call.

Its a great gym to workout, however their was just this one time when I toll a instructor if he could be my sparring partner and his response was I cant because I have a class to teach, and I am the class as well as part of it. Charleston Krav Maga is dedicated to a class but needs more dedication to every student individually to know their strengths and challenges.

I love the gym. Classes are great and Lowcountry Strength rocks. I am certainly improving my fitness and self-esteem with both Krav and BJJ. Ive been lifting in the back and everyone back there is friendly and inclusive.The woman at the front desk, though…needs to work on her communication skills. Her body language, comments about classes and her overall demeanor really bring me down every time I am coming or leaving.

After training at the Los Angeles Headquarters and training here, I have to say this place keeps up with the National Training Center. I am easily able to go in and out of each facility with ease. The teachers at Charleston Krav Maga are qualified professionals, and their jiu jitsu program is top notch.

Love it! I feel my daughter is a lot safer now and educated. Best ever!

Great gym, good luck canceling your contract. They use MSI for their billing and according the legal contract signed with membership and payments, you must provided specific proofs of cancellation or they will keep billing you for the determined time you contracted for. And MSI will have a legal team verify your proofs...because they use this billing service, which traps you within a contract, I am giving them two stars. Fool me once, Ill read the fine lines next time.

Have trained here in multiple disciplines (Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Krav Maga, powerlifting) and have been impressed not only by the size of the faculties but the staffs demeanor. Highly recommend.And I have never had any issue with payment. Moreover, I know they changed their billing company a year or so ago, and through that transition, I never had any issue, even while having to freeze my account for 10 months.

When I signed up for my membership, they LITERALLY told me I could cancel whenever I want. Months later when I went to cancel they told me I couldnt cancel and was locked in for a year. THIS IS FRAUD! They will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign up. Buyer beware!
