I was considering just taking the online course for NASM but I’m so happy I ended up here! The practical portion of the class helped me piece things together & understand it in a way I would have never been able to online. Matt is a great instructor and being around someone that is that passionate about what they do is so amazing!! There are so many times I’ve come home & shared with my husband what I learned in class & his mind was blown!! (He has been certified for several years through an online course). I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to become a certified personal trainer!

I quickly landed a job at one of the most sought after athletic clubs in Charlotte, NC (Life Time Athletic) after graduating AFNA as a personal trainer and metabolic technician. There were a huge pool of applicants and everything I learned there really set me apart. They have an excellent curriculum including everything you need to know to be successful in the industry. The hands on training and nutrition components are what really separates AFNA from other schools.

I attended NPTI and must say it is everything you would expect and more. Even if you do not aspire to be a personal trainer but want to know more about the human body and exercise science then this is the course for you. I have been working out most of my life but did not get the most out of my work out and did not see major improvements in my body until attending this course. I am a hands on learner, so going to this course was good for me instead of doing online courses like most trainers. The instructor, Matt, for NPTI charlotte is a wealth of knowledge and takes his job very serious. If I ever had any questions it seemed like Matt always had an answer. I learned so much from him and take heed to everything he says about the fitness industry and PT because I have grown so much as a gym goer and fitness instructor.

There are so many wonderful things to say about NPTI Charlotte and Matt Bean who is the head instructor of the class. I am 43 years old and have been in the land surveying profession for over twenty years. I decided to change all of that and sought out NPTI to help me fulfill my dreams and aspirations of becoming a personal trainer to not only better myself, but the lives of those in the world around me.Matt Bean is extremely knowledgeable, fair, and patient. His method of teaching is unparalleled in the industry. All of the subject matter is relevant and pertinent in order for the student to achieve optimal success not only in the classroom but in the profession in general. Case in point, after I graduated I had an interview with the head trainer at a facility as part of my interview process. Part of the interview was to train the trainer for a half hour. He was blown away in regards to the knowledge I had and the ability to explain every detail of the workout from muscle origins and insertions as well as their particular joint actions. In fact, he asked if he could use some of the same exercises and techniques for his own clients. But, it is much more than just that. The amount of knowledge I attained as far as nutrition, bio-mechanics, bio-energetics, special populations, basal metabolic rates, and so much more, exceeded every expectation I had.NPTI and Matt Bean go above and beyond to prepare one for this career. I sat for NASM-CPT right after graduation and passed it with ease. Every aspect a trainer needs to know in order to be successful in this profession is skillfully taught and put into practice at NPTI. The amount of knowledge and confidence NPTI has given me is invaluable and I will always be grateful and thankful that I had the opportunity to learn from such a skilled instructor. Thanks NPTI and thank you Matt Bean.
