I’m a disabled veteran who was retired in 2019 and I’ve been struggling financially so I decided to go back to school and needed daycare I spoke to two ladies that said they had availability for my daughter to attend in January. They handed me a packet to fill out so I put all my eggs in this basket. I showed up to drop off the papers and while standing there waiting for them to answer the door one lady rudely said to the director “I don’t know who the hell this is.” All while I’m standing there holding THEIR welcome packet. Then the director, Yvette Murphy comes up to me with the rudest attitude and the dirtiest looks asking me who I was and proceeds to tell me they don’t have any room for my daughter. I politely told them I talked to two ladies ahead of time who told me they had room for my daughter, And I even pointed out the office of the lady I talked to. She proceeded to give me a look like I was a problem. She very condescendingly told me how she was the director and she’s telling me there is no room for my daughter and has no idea who gave me my information. As I left in tears all she could say was “yup okay” no I’m so sorry for the confusion. No apology of any kind and refused to accept responsibility for the mishap. Her demeanor was completely rude and unprofessional towards me. If she had no common decency towards me I worry how she would treat my child. Glad I got to see how the director conducts business so I know never to leave my child here.

Ms Yvette and Ms Shannon are wonderful. They both made me and my husband feel at ease from the second we stepped foot in the facility for our tour. Ms Heather was amazing with our son in the infant room. Hilarious and loves her babies! Ms Becky is so much fun and always knew our son was in good hands in her room. Ms Ana is the such a great teacher. Her patience and love really show. She does a phenomenal job with the toddlers. Teaching them sign language and dancing to songs. Not to mention to upload pictures of him everyday so I can see how much fun they are having. What a great school- we love y’all!

After having a horrible experience at another daycare in the area, I was a little nervous about starting at The Sunshine House. During the tour they were so caring and nice and answered every question. I was thankful that they were able to get us in so last minute (due to us pulling him from another daycare). The staff here goes above and beyond, I’m so glad I can drop my infant off and feel as though he is safe and in a caring environment. The infant teacher, Heather is AMAZING! I am so thankful that my son gets to hang out and learn with her while I’m at work. When we walk in, my son gets the largest smile on his face. He absolutely loves her! It makes me a little jealous sometimes lol. Just a couple weeks in, we noticed a huge jump in our sons development. He was rolling, able to lift his head high and sturdy, and very communicative. It’s always hard leaving your little ones to go to work, but at The Sunshine House they make it a lot easier on you. They also follow safe sleep habits which is a huge bonus!

As a first time parents we were overwhelmed with all the options. However we decided to go with the Sunshine Academy after our tour. We love the location near our house, the outdoor and indoor locations. Miss Yvette was very nice and transparent about the process. Also the fact that wipes, bibs and diapers are provided is plus. All the kids loved our son first teacher and that is a reassurance that our baby was in good hands. Now he is in a different class and all the new teachers are sweet and caring. The app makes communication a breeze. I can see daily photos, videos and notes about my son. Also when I call to check on him they promptly answer. I will recommend this academy to anyone in Ballantyne or south Charlotte!

We have had experience with 2 different centers, and Sunshine House is by far the best! Eva and Yvette are engaged and present, approachable and responsive. The teachers are top-notch and very minimal turnover. My kids were able to transition from one school to another without any difficulty. The classrooms are bright and cheerful, the facility always smells clean and fresh. I would recommend to anyone looking for childcare!

My kids LOVE the Sunshine House! They love the teachers (seriously, ALL of them!), the food (Thanks Ms. Shannon!) and the friendships they’ve made. We have been taking our kids to this location for several years and appreciate most the positive, safe, learning environment Ms. Yvette & the teachers work hard to provide each day. We also love the app they use to keep parents updated on our kiddos learning activities & daily routines.

From the day we toured the Sunshine House Donnington Drive, and now 5 months in, we knew this was the right place to send our son. We adore the staff and they adore him. We love the app they use, their schedule works with our schedule (which other facilities in the area did not), but most of all we love the care they provide and how much he’s learning! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

I love this place. My daughter loves going to school everyday and absolutely adores the staff. They do so many great activities and constantly keep you updated with daily pictures and videos. Highly recommend.

We’ve had a wonderful experience so far at Sunshine House! Becky, Ana and Alex have been exceptional teachers and our daughter loves to go there! Would definitely recommend them to parents of little ones.

We love the Sunshine House! My infant son has been going there since he was just 3 months old, and we feel like part of the family. The head office staff, Eva and Yvette, made my husband and I feel so warm and welcomed when we came in for a tour. We were also greeted by lots of beautiful artwork both in and outside the facility, as well as beautiful LIVE green plants inside. Our son’s teachers have been blessings for us. They have helped him grow so much, and they know him so well! When I went through a spurt where it was difficult to get our little guy to sleep at night, his teacher gave me some great tips that worked really well, and any infant parent knows sleep is a precious thing! I will forever be grateful for the love they’ve shown our little one each day! Not to mention they always include the infants in on ALL activities the school has. I highly recommend!!

Our kids love Sunshine House. The teachers are engaging and are great at communicating with the parents. Our kids transitioned there from another daycare and they transitioned with ease. Happy kids and happy parents!

My son starts his journey with Sunshine house since he is two month old. He loves his teachers and enjoys going to school everyday! Mrs Becky, Helen have been doing a great job, and of course Mrs Shannon as well. Keep up with the good work!

I LOVE the sunshine house in Ballantyne ! Being a first time mom I was extremely nervous when I decided to go back to work when my little one was six months. When I requested a tour I knew immediately when I stepped into the doors this would be my child’s second home away from home. My child has really found her groove when her classmates and her teachers. When I drop her off in the morning and she sees Mrs. Becky she RUNS to her and waves bye to her mommy. The moment this happened I knew I had made the right choice and that she was happy and in great care. The first few weeks I was on the app every day making sure my Little one was okay. Now a little over 5 months in I only check the app when I need to because I know she is in great care. Mrs. Yvette is amazing and I am so blessed to have found this center for my child.

We have been going to Sunshine House for almost 8 years now and have really enjoyed our time there. The core teachers have always been wonderful and Ive felt at ease bringing my kiddos there. Both my kids always want Ms Shannon’s food over mine. I recommend it.

I am so glad someone recommended Sunshine House to me. I feel at ease dropping my child off at daycare every day. The entire staff has been great. After a negative experience at a different daycare, it is so refreshing to know she is in good hands while we are at work.

I LOVE Sunshine House. After a thorough search through the NC DHHS website (which is where I always begin daycare searches first!!) Sunshine House was one of a very few childcare centers that was highly rated and without violations. That, combined with the best tours I’ve ever had, we enrolled our 8 month old into SH at Donnington Drive and have been so grateful since. Our child experiences personal, loving attentive care every day and now as an almost 3 year old, has a multitude of friends, and teachers who love her. Eva and Yvette run this ship with the utmost professionalism and respect for the children and their families. I know every day my child is in great hands!!

Ive been coming here for almost 8 years between both of my children. I trust in my childs teachers now and those teachers before throughout the transition in classrooms. They have loved both of my children as their own and helped them grow both emotionally and socially. There are many families that continue to choose Sunshine for their second and third kids and I believe that speaks volumes. Thank you for loving my kids!

Sunshine House on Donnington in Ballantyne has been a home away from home for our little one. She has been with them four years and they have been absolutely wonderful with her. They are EVERYTHING and more than I could ever want in a little school. The staff are phenomenal, caring, and knowledgeable about the needs of kids at each developmental stage. When mydaughter is ready to move on, I know there will be many tears because it will be like leaving family.

My daughter has been here several months. We love it! Eva is fabulous and all the teachers we’ve encountered have been great! It’s obvious that they all truly care about the kids.

The school seemed wonderful, but communication was less than ideal. Called to set up a tour and was interested in starting both of my kids. Was led to believe there would be availability for both in the near future, so I went in. Had a great tour and after talking with my husband we were ready to enroll. Turns out they couldnt give me a start date for one kid anytime in the foreseeable future. I expressed my frustration and that I was willing to get creative to fill the gap if I could at least have a timeframe. After two emails and almost a week with no response, my husband finally had to call and felt like all he received was attitude and unwillingness to help. Might be a good school, but I would not put my kids there after my experience.

We couldnt be happier with Sunshine House! Our son has been attending daycare since he was about 4 months old and he is now 2.5 years old and we have felt like all of his teachers truly love him as much as we do. Im constantly amazed by what he knows and learns in school. Its a very well-run, organized, and comprehensive daycare program.

The sunshine house is an awe learning academy for your child. My daughter has been at the sunshine house for almost a year, and we love it. The teachers implement great structure for the student, communication, and simplified learning criteria for my child. Both the director and assistant director are hands on and involved in every class and communicate well with all teachers. My daughter will continue to go to The sunshine house until she starts school.

Our baby girl started at Sunshine House Ballantyne about a month ago and loves it so far! My daughters teachers are kind and caring. Also, the center is always clean and welcoming.

I love the Sunshine House on Donnington! All three of my kids have attended the Sunshine House since the age of 6 months. I absolutely trust the Director, Eva, the assistant Director, Yvette, and all of the Staff! Also my kids were more than prepared for school due to the great preschool curriculum and teacher! Thanks Sunshine House!

Im so happy my daughter no longer attends this daycare. Countless times I would pick her up with scratches all over her face. When I asked them what happened they said she was playing too rough. When I asked what she was playing with they said it was a teddy bear..? Mind you she was only 3 month olds and I kept her nails trimmed twice a week. They would take the kids outside in 30 degree weather than wonder why they get sick. When I gave my notice they didnt even respond to the email but removed her out of the system and didnt tell her bye. Im not sure about the other classes but I didnt feel right about this one. Mrs Becky was awesome and Rici was okay however the director and the assistant director are equally unprofessional. If you want a peace of mind I would not recommend bringing your baby to this daycare. You are your childs only advocate and they cannot speak up for themselves so its your duty to take action if something doesnt feel right.

They take excellent care of my child. Truly compassionate staff and directors.

Worse daycare I have ever dealt with in all my children. The lack compassion, they over charge and the care is about 3/5 if that. I would never recommend this corporation to anyone even my worse enemy.
