My son’s PM bus is supposed to have him dropped off at 4:08pm. Most days the bus doesn’t even arrive to the school until almost that time. Then the bus driver never does the same route. All this week besides one day so far my son has gotten home at 5pm. CMS needs to do better.

08/31/21I downloaded the app here come my bus it shows me the bus # was changed and the bus has not arrived to the school yet, I was refreshing the app every 2-3 minutes and at 5:16 it says my daughter has been dropped off at the bus stop, how if the app say the bus havent arrived to the school? Its raining so bad and my daughter walk to the house under heavy rain. My daughter is only 5 years old who never walk by her self around the neighborhood. What if a car hit her because it was heavenly raining? What if she gets lost because she is FIVE? What if someone take her? Im literally crying in the bath while I wait for her to come out the shower, I CANT believe the CMS transportation system is so negligent.08/31/21My daughter got an AM and PM, i completely understand they may be short in drivers but at least let the parents know the issues, we were waiting for the AM bus since 7:40am, never arrived, I dropped off my daughter at school at 10am.My daughter PM bus driver its great, she arrives 1 hour 20 minutes after the schedule but again, I understand they may be short in staff.And for my son we never get a yes or no answer.08/24/21More that 10 calls in a week! 40-50 minutes each call and after waiting so long the call just sit off... never one one pick up the phone!!!!! The people answering the phone helped as much as they could. My childs teacher has gone above and beyond. So that leaves me to believe the head of transportation and possibly the superintendent is the problem. I signed up for transportation in June and yet come the first day of school my child had no transportation. Then after she finally got transportation it was cancelled leaving her stranded after school. My child is learning disabled and due to the mix ups she was left after school with no transportation home and I am getting passed around because transportation says they cant help me. I blame the higher ups, I do not blame the people following the rules set in place by incompetent leaders. I have made several phone calls and sent emails to higher ups who do not return any phone calls. Children are required by law to attend school, schools are supposed to provide transportation. My childs rights to proper education are not being met per her individual education plan and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools is responsible. If your child needs transportation find a school system that believes in meeting that need and doesnt blame the people answering the phone at transportation or the teachers.

My children were driven to school last year and that needs to continue. Both my daughter and son were being bothered by a mean student with no manners. It got to the point where there was scratching and pushing. Apparently this student is known to be a bully. I went to the bus stop to see what was going and to protect them. The bus driver was extremely rude, started yelling and never addressed my concern. I didn’t say a word to the bus driver. I was just watching for my kids. I can not believe that students have to deal with cold, mean rude bus drivers that do not address or give referrals when physical harm is done. This is bus 1863 for jv washam. Something needs to be done to protect these students. We need a bus driver that has proper bus management that will address both student and parent concerns effectively!

The bus drivers are RUDE you say good morning they say NOTHING back to you... Your child leaves something on the bus they give you the entire run around and lies and you never retrieve your lost items. The HR department ladies are RUDE with no manners and not really concerned about your matters CMS has got to do better with the bus drivers and has got to do better with customer service.Reviews dont matter BECAUSE theyre not going to change OR address the issues. This is Charlotte North Carolina the people in this state are HORRIBLE JUST NASTY RUDE People.

CMS transportation is awful. The free app to track you’d child bus rarely works. Leaving parents scared and worried about if and when the children will arrive. I call and call multiple times and NO ONE answered the phone. Smh please do your job. With this pandemic, we are worried about our children more than ever. It would be great if we had a clear estimate as to when our child will arrive.

My son ID number doesn’t work to set up a bus ride and I’ve tried numerous of times to call and nothing. The school is no help they act like parents can just take off work to drop/pick up your child.

The customer service for CMS is disappointing. I had to wait 25 mins before a representative was able to answer the call. When the rep answered she was short and rude. She handed the call to someone else without advising me and the second rep was short and rude as well. They seem to be hiring workers from the bottom of the barrel. CMS transportation needs to get it together as you are dealing with peoples children!

Older woman who picks up the line in the morning is always rude for some reason.The amazing bus drivers you only get in the morning at times and then they vanish in thin air and are replaced with drivers who arrived more than 10 minutes late.I think an app where parents and teens can download where GPS is feeding the where abouts of the bus and their exact location would benefit everyone. Also, live directions for the drivers since they always have bundles of papers in their hands reading directions and stops.

They are completely unhelpful, and are only on time about 1/4 of the time, so its impossible to really rely on this transportation service. This is not good, as all parents have full enough lives and situations, and do not need the extra stress this transport provides. I feel truly bad for anyone else who is reliant on this.

This is a joke, I called the CMS Transportation services to find out if my alternate route had been approved. Someone did answer the call but was quite rude. She said it usually takes 3 to 5 business days which is fine but she didnt bother to ask me for my request ID or anything and just told me to call back in a few days.

Honestly I love Cms but their transportation, not so much. My main complain is that if you have buses running through the city so early, we isn’t Cms transportation open that early. Issues happen early in the morning but when you can’t speak to Cms directly to address the issue it can be frustrating. A lot of buses are on the road around 5 in the morning and the fact that Cms transportation isn’t open at that time is a bit frustrating. Please Cms consider opening up a little earlier to answer calls and complains

Now I’m giving them 3 starts cause there are some good drivers that know how to drive and everything my daughter rides the school bus and has to be at the stop by 6:08 I’m not able to make sure she gets on and off the bus but she told me she gets out there at 5:30 cause the bus is always very early then today the bus never even showed up to my baby stop AND ITS RAINING OUTSIDE !!! now before I moved she had 2 great bus drivers she had a digestives for the morning and afternoon they made sure she got in the house and made sure they came to her stop I moved in the same area so she can ride the same bus but they changed her buses why I don’t even know now I have to find a way for my child to get to school because they don’t wanna come to her stop this is just sad her other bus drivers were amazing but these 2 ain’t it

When I was in new jersey I was taking the bus myself and the company I used for my area was so unprofessional and so rude, CMS on the other hand is really chill and Ive had no issues with them at all! I would recommend you guys order maybe some transits or IC REs to buy for better comfort and reliability.

Three stars is solely on the strength that the driver is a great person. Polite quiet and waves all the time bus 1912. This is no complaint against her at all. This is in regards to the zone 8 input personnel... Bus pickup time is for my daughter is @7:00, last Friday no acknowledgement of a substitute bus whatsoever! Today Monday, the acknowledgement came ten minutes before 8AM. Totally unacceptable! Watching a bus that never made it to my daughters stop when I myself, have to be to work at 8AM. My wife had to bring my daughter to school today and I brought my daughter to school on Friday. This is negligence and I wont stand for it at all. Do your job. Do your job. DO YOUR JOB!!! If you feel incompetence works for you, it will not be tolerated at all.

How do you send busses out at 5:30-6:00 but you don’t take calls when they don’t show up? Your service is so incredibly flawed. The fact that you also keep people on hold for as long as you do is frankly insulting, not only to the frustrated students and parents, but to the school system itself. It reflects how seriously CMS takes their policies, so maybe keep that in mind when setting your hours up and working with kids just trying to get an education.

And theres no one to complain to because you cant reach anyone on the phone at the main office. So sick of this bus transportation. We didnt have this problem with his last bus driver. My sons bus driver arrived early everyday for the entire school year. The days she was late, I knew it was because she had a substitute. This was the year before they introduced the app. The app is great! It prevents me from calling the transportation line. I am thankful for all the days the bus drivers get our children to and from school all across Mecklenburg County.Thank you

I own one of their decommissioned buses. Firstly, every time I call for information or help on parts, they are on top of it. Took them less than 5 minutes over 2 calls to get me exact part numbers that I then found within a mile of my location, in stock. Everyone I met that works here was rather friendly. I just took my bus in for a service and it passed with flying colors, runs great. It fires up as soon as you turn it over. That is impressive considering that the model year is 1999. I love driving this bus. I have had to do repairs, but for the most part, it is just maintenance related. This bus has lots of extra life in it, now it has a second life as a tiny home that can drive down the road at a moments notice.

Where do I start since school started in August 2019 my son bus has been extremely late. My son has to be in school at 8:30. On 9/10/19 my son bus never came. I called transportation and another bus came to take my son to his middle school this was after 9:30. Then I was told to have my son go back to the bus stop my thing is the driver never came the bus that was sent should have picked my son up from in front of my house. They need to do better HIRE more drivers. It’s not fair that these kids has to miss out on lessons at school because they are short drivers. SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE....

The CMS bus system is a complete joke and a tremendous waste of money and resources. Not to mention a waste of parents time and money spent waiting on a bus that might not come and driving kids to school. We had some consistently during the first semester but that driver is no longer on our route (or working at all?) and the CMS bus system seems to just have given up on our our morning route completely. Every morning is a total guessing game. Will the bus come on time? Or will we be waiting 45 minutes? Which driver and bus number will we get? Will the driver zoom past our child or have the common courtesy to slow down and check to see if there is someone approaching the bus stop? And is there any slight chance that the driver can pretend to care about my child? A smile, a nod, any acknowledgement? Most driver act as if they are serving mandatory community service.Its no wonder that out of 4 of 5 families on our street choose to drive their kids to school every morning instead of riding the bus. And as a regular bus rider, I end up having to drive my child to school at least once a week because the bus is so late or we arent sure its going to come at all.And dont get me started that the Here Comes the Bus App! I that worked, at least I would know that the bus was going to be 30 minutes late and could wait at home for it.

I love my daughter’s bus driver. My daughter has some minor learning disabilities and her bus driver (at East Meck) looks out for us in a lot of different ways. I have called transportation a couple of times this year because my daughter has had issues finding her substitute bus in the afternoons and I speak to a person very quickly and they listen to my issue and help me with it. Everyone has been polite to me on the phone as well. I appreciate their service.

This is absolutely ridiculous. My childs bus is constantly late and the children suffer for the lack of transportation to the school to be on time. On a constant basis, the bus is to show at 0715 but doesnt arrive to 0800 and students dont arrive to school until after the bell rings. CMS transportation is the worse bus service. We recently moved into the area and the bus service is horrible. It is constantly late and not by a few minutes but as much as 30-40 minutes. No update is provided. Calling them on phone is a joke because theyll give you a run around and no one seems to be in control. They will constantly lie that bus broke down. Folks responsible for the department need to be reprimanded.

On the first and second day of school there was no bus for my kids to take to school. They dont answer the phone when called. I cant believe how poorly run the transportation is. Our tax dollars and children deserve better. It would be so annoying for me, if my kids didn’t tell me that they want to ride the bus. At the beginning of this school year I got a paper that said my bus would come no earlier than 6:09 and today my substitute driver arrived and left at 6:03. When I informed him that I missed the bus because he was far to early- he yelled at me. He told me that if I didnt like it hed make me get off of his bus. This is no way to respond when theres an issue. When I called the company they said that all they could do was call him to figure things out which was useless. On top of that, right before break one of the substitute drivers completely missed my stop. We had to call for a different buss to be sent. The transportation of minors isnt something that should be handled with so little care.

I can say I honestly wasnt surprised by what I saw this morning. The car behind was trying to merge in a lane in front of bus #640 on Ballantyne commons and the driver refused to let them in even though they had there signal. Repeatedly they driver lurched forward to cut off the car. Its was bumper to bumper so no one is getting anywhere so why not let them in? These drivers are the absolute rudest and unprofessional. And they always have been. Ive had kids in CMS 6 years and have complained before and no response from my call. Its not just the drivers, this is obviously management not doing there job. CMS NEEDS TO DO THERE ACTUAL JOB, TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT YOU DO. REALIZE IT IS IMPORTANT. MAKE IMPROVEMENTS. WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEMS DONT WORK. I shouldnt be the one to have to say something so common sense. What is this world coming to?

Worst transportation in the country. While the managers sit in their warm offices and get their paychecks every month, our kids sit for 45-55 minutes at bus stops only for the bus NOT to come. How is education a priority???if kids miss the first 39 min if academic instruction.How is the safety of our kids a priority???? When kids age 4 yrs to 14 yrs are left to stand at bus stops for almost an hour during rush hours and in inclement weather!Something has to change!!!!

Obviously anyone can be a bus driver. Bus 757 has one more time to threaten my 5 and 7 year old with fake write ups for running to the bus. If your time was consistent there would be less issues. If a child is to be outside 10 mins beforehand why are you coming 20 mins before and then trying to pull off when you see kids coming, but God forbid they run theyll get written up. Even the school advised me of how these drivers are treating children. But guess what kind of parent I am?, the kind to call the news, record your actions and have your job ended quickly.

Lots of room for improvement. I don’t blame the drivers solely, I blame the leadership. Time to clean house and hire a retired Navy Master Chief or Army Sargeant Major to run the show.Bus didn’t even stop this morning. Well we are already off to a bad start this year once again the school bus system sucks my child has to wait 30 to 40 sometimes a hour just to be picked up or dropped off it is very inconvenient for us parents that work in the morning that has to wait at the bus stop with the child not knowing when the bus is going to actually come or if the bus is going to come.Why is it taking so long for something to be done about this. Ive lived throughout various parts of the country and can say without a doubt that CMS schools are some of the absolute WORST when it comes to transportation. The drivers come whenever they wish. If theyre twenty minutes late? Oh, well! If YOU are twenty seconds late? Youre problem! As for customer service? Absolutely NONE. Our morning driver is always in a bad mood.Oh, and forget trying to get in touch with anyone at transportation. Youll be on hold for a solid half hour easy. I got so tired of waiting, I called the school to get the address and drove down there to speak with the supervisor. When I arrived, I was told I was at the wrong transportation center. They gave me another address. Guess what? That was the wrong one, too! A waste of time off from work. >:(

Would give negative 100 if I could. Had my child getting dropped off at the WRONG afterschool daycare program. Only reason I found out is because the diligent staff at their daycare wanted to double check on the bus # and time of drop off. And no apology was given when I spoke with someone from the department. This is a child safety issue!!!! We will be making a formal complaint. But just wanted to warn other parents to be diligent and always call to confirm any transportation requests as apparently it’s not a big deal for them to lose kids.

Ms. Patterson allowed my 9yr old child to ride the bus home on the floor of the aisle of the bus. When I confronted her she said “I can’t know everything that goes on back there” BS! She didn’t see a child on the FLOOR in the aisle in her rear view mirror at any point during the entire ride home. Not only that, she had a horrible attitude, could care less and spat at me “if you have a problem call the bus co!”I will not even bother calling based on the stellar reviews here. However, our principal has and I hope that she never jeopardizes another child’s safety again.I will be picking up my own children from now on and would have from day one if I had had any idea how nasty she was with zero concern for the children.

I wouldnt put my dog or worst enemy on a CMS School bus, it is amazing they spend an entire summer searching for drivers, then hire the worst of the worst. God forbid you try to be proactive and research, the school does not know where your child is, customer service does not know, hell even the bus driver dont know where they are at, this is just TERRIBLE. CMS Transportation has been trash for so long they do nothing to improve their service. They still hire NASTY ATTITUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL DRIVERS. This is the WORST transportation experience I have ever had...made even worse by the fact that its my children they are servicing. They are rude, unhelpful, and try to place blame everywhere but on themselves. They are obviously under the impression that because this is not a direct fee for service business that they can do what they want. Since part of my taxes pay their salary I think management of this department should be put up for public election. Maybe if they had oversight and were held accountable for their actions by someone who depended on re-election for continued employment, they would run the office as a service operation...instead of a take it or leave it but we dont care either way type of deal. This year has been unnecessarily stressful dealing with their changing schedules, changing routes, 30 minute pick up windows (that still arent adhered to), unreliable apps, rude drivers, unsafe stops, and overall unwillingness to help. How can you make changes to a route and tell the parents in hindsight, we are not obligated to give you any information on changes? These are our children...and while YOU may not care, us parents are very invested. One of the major reasons my children will not be in CMS in the upcoming year is this department. They deserve no stars but you have to give one to leave a comment. While not all parents can afford to pull their kids from this school district or transportation system, I hope that enough of us can band together to implement major changes in the way things are currently being ran.

Wish I could give zero stars. She usually comes at 6:15, when really she is scheduled to come 6:32. The bus arrives to the school at 6:26. And we wait at the school for twenty minutes before getting let off the bus. I talked to transportation and they said that they would talk to her, but now she is coming even earlier, and the app is unpredictable and slow. The bus driver is a terrible driver and keeps missing stops in the morning, because she is so early.

This is the worst school bus transportation provider I’ve ever encountered. The bus is ALWAYS late. I mean every time. Just horrible. And I can’t forget to mention how one bus driver dropped my nephew off at the wrong bus stop and refused to take him to the correct one. My nephew who is special needs walked over 1 mile home and we Just moved here. The driver was suspended and from what I’m told is now back. Unbelievable! This needs a complete revamping!

Here we are in week two ... and yet the communication by CMS and the delay of school buses are still horrible. It’s 717pm and my kids are STILL not home! I called and hour ago and was told my kids are 3-4 minutes away... who wants a lie about the location of their kids told!! Last week I called Myers Park transpiration center and the person answered the phone by saying “hello?!” No identification of their name or where I was calling. This is ridiculous. I get delays. I get traffic. But lies and no commmunication is unacceptable!!! By the way, I was told my kids were the “next stop” and they are “across the street” and yet I’m standing here and still no sign of my kids. Forget “here comes the bus app” because that isn’t working either!! Where are my kids?!??

The worst planned and executed transportation. Kids are spending 2 hours 30 mins time in the bus to reach home from Barringer school. They have not improved the reaching time even after couple of calls. And of course no one is reachable to know the status of bus when it was late.

Terrible I recently moved and I have two children. One goes to middle school the other goes to Elementary. Within 3 days my oldest child has a school bus assigned to him, its going on 6 days and transportation just told me that my youngest is not eligible for transportation due to transportation showing hes not eligible because they still have the old address in the system. The woman I spoke with was not helpful and very nonchalant asking me stupid questions like did I register him at the school, of course I did, if I didnt register him he WOULDNT be at the new school. Transportation for CMS is a complete joke.

Letting kids off the at a unscheduled CMS bus stop. Kids are under the age of 6 years old and have to walk along a busy south tryon street by themselves. I call CMS transportation and raised hell.

CMS need to FIRE Tommy Blakney. He has no respect for parent concerns, issues and the children that ride his bus. Children are not being transported safely and he makes it known that he dont have to address issues that happen on the bus. The drivers and the administration from CMS transportation need more training period on how to communicate and interact with children and families. We trust CMS buses to transport our kids safely and that is not happening. Someone has to be held accountable, Tommy Blakney has to go because he is encouraging behaviors that is putting children at risk. Open an investigation on the inside of this place and youll see that thier intentions are not good, they come to work high, smelling of the liquor store. Im sure if they serve the upper class area thier attitudes and approach would be different. Its sad to see African Americans fail thier own.

I dont have children but I would really love for leadership to re-evaluate these drivers. Saw a school bus with children run a stop sign not just that they speed, they are reckless. CMS needs to do something about these bus drivers. Stop hiring people that dont give a flying biscuit about children and their safety.

They never know anything and my grandchildren were stuck on the bus until after 6 pm and the tracking system wasn’t a accurate tracking and when you call the bus company the recording states they are only open 6 pm and then the recording hangs up. What happens when you can’t get through to anyone and the school is already closed, They don’t want the kids on their cell phones but yet some drivers are on their phones laughing and talking and can cause an accident.

Kids going missing from bus stops and they can’t even answer the phone! Horrible customer service. I’ve called a few times and had horrible service from multiple people. The school buses are always late. I understand things happen but they are horrible with communication. Especially when they are dealing with other people’s children

So it is apparent that new bus drivers either arent trained or not really qualified. Why does it take a week for a new person to learn their route?? Are they not given a ride along on their first day on the best way to work their route? Do they not think it important enough to make sure they know their route by maybe driving it on the weekends to care about being on time and sure that they are picking kids up. Hopewell bus 1326...this is not acceptable. The kids have been late everyday since this person started or not picked up at all. Pay attention, review your route and get it together. CMS you need to care about this NOT being acceptable and address it ASAP.

Since all have a some complain about the substitute bus I also have something to say about that. This week from Monday my daughter substitute bus wasn’t coming yet. She is always waiting for bus long long time outside in this cold weather. I feel sooo much heart broke when I saw her outside. I don’t have car to drop her to school this is tooo much now. Absolutely ridiculous my child gets out of school at 4:15 and isnt home until after 6pm. You call the main branch and the direct transportation offices and get no answers. Nothing has changed from last year and no one takes accountability for their actions. Ill be calling the police station again this year to locate my child because these people are truly incompetent.

The abb is absolutely a joke. Information in there is giving you one information, in real life it is completely something different.We had no problem until our regular bus got substituted with a bus number 2053. First week it was coming 30-40 minutes late, then suddenly one day it came 10 minutes early. Few families were late, but when you tried to catch the bus, you got a bunch attitude towards you about being late. This bus driver cannot even finish conversation politely, not listen to a concern and keep saying “bye, have a good day”. Where is a customer service etiquette?This morning the abb said that this bus was substituted by the bus 2033, and guess what? It never was substituted. While parents are tracking one number, the different number comes early again and the bus driver is having attitude with parents again (the same person!). Let few childred to get on a bus not at the regular stop and having attitude with you when you were trying to catch it.I tried to call the transportation line, they said that sometime they don’t have time to change information on a system. Then why do we have this system? To mislead the parents?I had kids at CMS since 1998 and had never had this kind of problems with buses and bus drivers. Very disappointed!

I love my 6yr old sons usual CMS bus driver Ms. Kim. She is a doll and his bus driver last year Ms. Debra is an angel. But Mr. Bungolo who is a sub and usually drives #1672 is an unhinged pig. He was annoyed that I complained that my 6yr old was standing on the bus directing him to the evening bus stop on Ballantyne Commons at 6:45 pm back in the fall when Mr. Bungolo was a substitute for the first time. Mr. Bungolo has been very aggressive and angry since that day whenever he drives my son home. Luckily, it has only happened twice since the fall.Yesterday, my son fell asleep on the bus. He is 6 and had a fever of 103 over the weekend. Needless to say, this week has been a struggle as he is still recovering from being ill. Instead of telling me that my son was sleeping at 6:30 pm when he arrived, Mr. Bungolo decided to bang at the back of my sons seat yelling Lets go, lets go! My son woke up startled and he stumbled to the exit. He would have fallen down the stairs if I didnt go to the top step to catch him. When I told Mr. Bungolo that his behavior was uncalled for he became belligerent and told me to get off the bus. I threatened to call the police. I should have.Mr. Bungolo is better suited to herd cattle and sheep. He has no business working with people, let alone children. He needs to be removed from the CMS Trasportation roster. I complained to Mr. Levitt and Mr. McAllister. If Mr. Bungolo is assigned to your child, you should be very concerned about their physical well being and safety. If a sleeping child makes him unhinged, I wonder how triggered he would be by a bad driver.

I was on hold for over 20 minutes the 2nd week of school. Our childs bus wasnt too late the first week of school, then ran on time by the 4th or 5th day. But then it was almost 30 minutes late Tuesday the 2nd week. The next day it NEVER showed on the here comes the bus app. When they answered and asked about her bus, I was told that bus didnt even run. and we dont even know if it had a substitution and they passed the buck to the zone directors phone #. I called that number and only received a recorded message and a hang up. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Horrible. The customer service is ridiculous. Kids get out of school at 415 but bus doesnt show up until an hour or more later. Bus 266 at Mallard Creek elementary is always late!!!!
