Ive had a great time learning from Barret. As an adult learner thats been important to me. I feel as though I have a good foundation to move forward. Working with Barret, it is evident that he loves teaching, and hes good at it. I didnt feel discouraged ever when I encountered difficulties.I highly recommend Barret and Insane Rhythm for music instruction, no matter what age or skill level. If you want to learn, he can teach you.

I came to Insane Rhythm without any prior instrument experience last year. Barret was able to teach me so many different skills: playing the piano, music theory, song creation, song recording, improvisation, and a deeper understanding of music. Insane Rhythm helped me become a musician. Adults can learn new skills! Im 28 and can now play the piano and sing confidently. I compose my own music and play at open mic nights every week. None of this would have been possible without the guidance of a great teacher.

Barrett is one awesome dude! He is a fantastic piano teacher who really cares about his students and takes the time to get to know them while teaching piano! I learned so much so quickly because of him and I wouldn’t ever go to another piano teacher again! The B in Barret stands for BEST because he is the best of the best!

My shy 12 year old started vocal lessons with Cindy Gibbs in February. Since then, my child has performed at her schools talent show and in front of friends and family with a new found confidence. Cindy provides specific feedback by using imagery, teaches sight reading, and coaches on-stage presence in a welcoming environment. She communicates to me what her expectations are for my child and follows up with us to make sure we are supporting her in her development. 5 stars! Thank you Cindy!

Cindy has been working with our daughter on voice lessons for a month now and we notice so much improvement with her voice. Cindy is very patient and kind and has an amazing voice herself. She takes the time to teach all aspects of singing from warming up to reading music to teaching our daughter to sing some of her favorite songs. Thank you for all you do!!

I have had all 3 of my kids take lessons with Barret on the piano, drums and ukulele. He amazingly changes hats from one lesson to the next and gives his all during each lesson.One of my kids is dyslexic and ADD which can make learning challenging. Barrett took this in stride and made an extra effort to get on his level and find something to compliment each time we come. My child comes out of lessons happy and wanting to come back for more. That is something special you don’t see in a lot of teachers nowadays.I would highly recommend taking lessons here!

Barrett is flexible and easy to work with. My son enjoyed going weekly and I saw his percussion skills improve week to week.

Insane Rhythm is awesome. Barret does a terrific job with my kids. I have a 15 year old learning piano there and my 12 year old is learning guitar. Recently my 6 year old tried the drums out and he loved it so it looks like I will have three kids taking lessons with Barret. This is just fine with me, Barret has the best prices I have found in Chattanooga.

Insane Rhythm Music is awesome! My 6 yr old son Memphis started drum lessons with Barret about 6 months ago and then decided to switch to piano. Barret is very knowledgeable with both instruments. Memphis has hearing loss in both ears so it is a little more difficult for him to learn music because he cant hear it well but Barret was very patient and taught Memphis in a way that he could learn it!

Barret is a great teacher. He has done so well with our 7 yr old daughter. She is taking drums from Barret. He is very knowledgeable and patient with the kids. I definitely recommend Barret for music lessons.

Barret has been wonderful working with my daughter! She has special needs and when a previous music teacher was intimidated by her we moved to Barrets studio and hes been able to work with her when shes gotten frustrated, even dividing her lessons over two different instruments to keep her frustration down and focus up! All in all a great experience and Im glad we were able to find him when we did!

Barrett is a very wise and experienced drummer, so he knows what he is talking about. I came to him as a complete beginner and he met me where I was at and allowed me to grow as a drummer. He is very patient and easy to work with, would totally recommend going to Barrett no matter what stage of drumming you are at!
