If I could give zero stars, I would. When I was thinking about signing up, I wasnt sure about the timing because I was supposed to go out of the country for work. The main instructor was in a conversation with me asking me about my work and being interested while her other instructor filled the form out for me. The only reason that I allowed him to do that is because I was ASSURED that I would not be charged until they CALLED ME and that I would give them the green-light, this was their way of making me more comfortable with taking my time to make a decision. He didnt even explain any of the contract to me, just that they wouldnt charge me until I gave them the OK so that I could look at my schedule and see what happened with my job.The contract was not supposed to start for another month, but then I called them (they didnt call me) and I told them that I didnt think I would be able to attend classes because my job was moving me to DC upon return to the country, they said that the contract had been signed for more than seven days and I needed to go through Member Solutions who processes their payments. Of course, Member Solutions was absolutely no help - SHADY SHADY SHADY SHADY. Now I live in DC and am paying for a contract when I never got to take the classes that Im paying for and have to drive several hours in order to do so.

Love Instructor E. They make the class fun for the kids but still enforce manners respect and listening. Great class for my 5 yr old. Miss Instructor Levi though!!

We could not be more pleased with King Tiger. Our daughter has been attending for just over a year now. The changes we have seen in her have been amazing.Her confidence, focus and abilities have improved immensely. She is much more disciplined at home and school and we owe a good deal of this change to her time here. The instructors are very kind and professional. The front desk staff is always helpful. We highly recommend King Tiger Martial Arts in Chesapeake to anyone looking for their child to build confidence and incredible skills to last a lifetime.

I have observing King Tiger for over a year now and have noticed that they provide the best professionalism and genuinely care for all prospective students, active students, family, friends and staff who work there. I officially became a part of their family and have couldnt made a better choice. Going to a session is like going to a family who welcomes you in open arms and helps and caters to any need of their client. My name is Chris Cielo and I am 15 years old. I have been with this studio ever since it opened and every day that I come in is a great experience. The instructors are beyond extraordinary and will always keep you challenged. I have been doing martial arts since I was younger, but this studio has reached far beyond my expectations. It is by far the best studio I have ever been at. I have seen the instructors work with the kids and tend to their needs and goals and then turn around to the teens and adults and focus on exactly what they need. This studio is great for a kid who wants to build character and learn values, but at the same time great for teens and adults who like to focus more on working out and keeping critical and technical.

My five year old daughter Kiley has been a member of the King Tiger Martial Arts (Ches.) family for almost one year now. The instructors are amazing and always make the children feel confident and comfortable. As a parent, I enjoy watching Kiley grow and become part of a team!!! Thank You to ALL the staff for making my family feel part of yours!!My daughter says: She loves Instructor E. She also loves all the kids shes with and the classes she gets for being involved in the leadership program (tumbling, sparing, forms, etc.) Plus, she likes learning all the self defenses (which are very practical too).

My 6 year old son has been at KTMA for 3 months and loves it. He is growing stronger, getting better balance, gaining confidence, and tries really hard. His attitude in class is starting to rub off at home. We love the family friendly atmosphere and Instructor E is great with the kids! Now I just have to convince my 4 year old daughter that she doesnt have to wait til shes 5 to get started. Just by going to the class and watching her brother, she has picked up things like the Korean terminology and some of the moves.

I highly recommend going to the school King Tiger Martial Arts (chesapeake). My son now raises his head held high with confidence and a good fitness workout . He built his stamina up and is now very flexible . The intructors and staff have made us feel like family. They have taught my son much respect and discipline. My only regrets is not coming here sooner !

Moving to the Great Bridge area was new and to find a Dojo close to the house couldnt be more perfect. From the initial meeting I was impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the instructor. They were always helpful and my son loved it there. Unfortunately we had to move and we will miss the King Tiger Martial arts family.Thank you Sensei Vicki!!!!

King Tiger Martial Arts is the first place I refer people when theyre interested in finding self defense lessons with a great atmosphere and the opportunity for some serious personal growth. All of the instructors are professional and fun to work with. They have years of experience in the field under their belts - some of them even starting as KTMA students themselves! Theres something for everyone of all ages and skill levels, so I strongly recommend KTMA to anyone looking to explore the world of martial arts.

My two boys, ages 4 & 5, have been training with King Tiger Martial Arts since November 2012. The benefits of KTMA are more than just learning the art of the sport, they also gain valuable life skills at an early age in the way of showing common courtesy, discipline, and achieving goals. The instructors provide developmentally appropriate training and, more importantly, my boys have fun!

We’ve gone here for 3 years now. My kids are in the Leadership Program. They do a good job with the content in the Leadership program but the amount of money it costs is quite a big difference. My kids were too young to commit to so many years to a single sport when we signed them up 3 years ago. Instructor E and Levi do a very good job of trying to provide positive feedback most of the time. They have different teaching styles and that is helpful to the kids (and adults). They do not keep a schedule of what they practice so the kids often do not know their kicks before stripe testing. There are lots of class time options for the lower and intermediate classes/belts. The advanced belts don’t have many classes to go to and there are lots of levels packed in to one class. Sometimes you get both instructors in class but almost just as equally there is only one instructor. Sometimes the classes are packed and sometimes there aren’t as many. Overall, the instructors are knowledgeable and do a good job teaching. They like you to sign multi-year contracts and I highly suggest you really decide if that’s right for you. There is no getting out of the contract so make sure you can afford it. If your child starts to not like it, it doesn’t matter. They don’t want to go, it doesn’t matter. Only if the child dies or you move more than 25 miles from King Tiger can you get out of the contract. Read all the very small fine print on the BACK of the contract. You are trapped in this contract and will have to pay. My issues are not with the instructors or school but more with the contract that locks you in and if it’s a good decision for you and your family.

I have been attending King tiger martial arts for four years. The instructors are amazing and very helpful. Sensei Cielo is my favorite in combat hapkido. If you would like to train in a great atmosphere with the best people and other friendly classmates then you should try this place first!

KTMA is a wonderful studio. My son has been taking classes there for about 2 years. He has learned so much and he looks forward to going to class. They have a great group of instructors and staff. We look forward to attending classes there for many years to come.

We love KTMA! Its a relaxing environment but with totally structured Lessons. My niece Kiley loves it there too! She has grown so much since she first started. She has not only become stronger physically but she has grown a better self confidence, has learned what it means to work for something, has learned patience, and more respect for other children. She has also has found a special group of friends. I highly recommend this karate studio!

My name is Keith Donnay and Im a long standing friend of with everyone at KTMA Chesapeake and Ive been a member only for a short time(maybe 3 months), but I consider them like family. They have a wonderful atmosphere, friendly fellow students, and great tips on keeping yourself fit and ready for anything!

Our family has been with King Tiger Martial Arts for over three years. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for my son. When we first started, he would not even step on the mat, he would cry for the entire time we were at the studio and Instructor E. was helpful and had/ has so much patience with kids, that we continue to go just to get my son use to them. Finally after a couple of month he was able to start classes in their traditional Tae Kwon Do program. Now, he is really close to getting his black. He enjoys being part of Demo and Leadership, meeting new people and learning his self defense. He Loves everyone and enjoys being part of their family. Everyone at KTMA has built self confidence and self control in my boy. I would recommend KTMA to anyone!

My wife and I study Tae Kwon Do as well as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing.The KTMA instructors are very professional and are terrific when working with children and they know how to make the adults strive for their best as well.Everyone at KTMA is like an extended family and has made a very positive impact on our family, in our health and fitness levels for my wife and I, and has built self confidence and self control in our boys.
