Chesterfield Montessori School continues to amaze me in their unwavering commitment to providing their students with the very best. I graduated from CMS in 6th grade back in 2005 (when there wasnt yet a 7th or 8th grade, otherwise I definitely would have stayed) and my memories of the school have always been extremely bright and joyful — a community that I was excited to be a part of and teachers that I looked forward to spending my days with. Fast forward 15 years and Ive had the honor of reengaging with the school and community to give back. I thought my memories must be rose-tinted by my age, but Im more energized than ever about all this school offers. The staff truly care, the teachers are so devoted, and the community has so much to offer. If youre at all considering Montessori for your children, trust me when I say you do not want to miss out on this extremely rare, true Montessori experience.

I am a multi-generational parent. My first child graduated from traditional public school in 2012. By the time he was finished I knew we would never go back! I currently have a 8 year old and twin 7 year olds enrolled at Chesterfield Montessori and I couldnt be happier. The staff and teachers are all very engaged and professional. I know any and all questions and concern will be handled at either the teacher level or by the head of school. I have chosen to entrust this school with my three children because they deliver a whole child experience, not just an academic one. The level of work they do and the responsibility they carry is wonderful! Chesterfield Montessori has partnered with my husband and I in creating self-reliant, curious, intelligent, critical thinkers who lead the pack in their age group. I cannot recommend this school enough.

My wife and I enrolled our 16 month in Chesterfield Montessori (CMS) in September 2015 and have been impressed with the culture, the staff and the consistency with which they deliver on their promises made in their mission statement particularly:...nurture respect for self and others, foster a strong sense of community, and stimulate independent thinking. Our daughter loves attending CMS and her development is impressive. She speaks in full sentences, is toilet trained at 22 months and participates in food preparation as well as clean up after the meal. However, these are skills. As her father, nothing is more satisfying as seeing her become a confident individual who is open to life and interactions with everyone. She is one who will thrive because of the early support she consistently receives from her outstanding teachers, the families at CMS and the administration.I feel compelled to add how welcome we feel at CMS. We were invited to the owners home for lunch and everyone in the administration knows my name and my wifes name. I wish to thank CMS for the wonderful experience thus far and look forward to seeing our youngest, now 13 weeks, get started in 2017!Paul B

Our son started at Chesterfield Montessori School at age two-and-a-half and went on to be the first graduate of the CMS Adolescent Program. At the high school he now attends he is consistently on the honor roll. In addition, so are all of his other former CMS classmates who attend his current school. This is no coincidence. At CMS there is a commitment to each child reaching their individual full potential and that is evident in every classroom. Children leave CMS not only with confidence in the work they do, but with poise and respect for others.CMS is AMI certified and that makes a significant difference in the world of Montessori education. The staff are expertly trained and treat each child with respect and encourage their natural desire to learn. Not only that, these are good people who sincerely care about your kids and their education. If you are researching schools I encourage you to visit CMS. I had a profound first impression of the school and that never changed over the years. The decision to send our child there has so positively impacted his life and we will always be grateful for the time he spent there..

Initially, this school was a nice fit for our children and we were very involved. But they lost some veteran teachers, replaced them with newer teachers (one being the daughter of the headmaster, which seems like a conflict) and the compassion and educational experience from there went downhill quickly. If you have a child who doesnt have near perfect behavior, I simply cannot recommend this school. They dont actively work to make situations like these better for the child, nor show any compassion, grace or reasonable levels of communication. They appear to only want children with perfect behavior so that they can claim that the Montessori Method works for every child. With us, they did the same thing as another person mentioned in a Yellow Pages Review of abruptly trying to pull us into a meeting to have our child (a kindergartner) not come back when we were already in the spring semester -- and getting him into another school at that point would have been almost impossible. We also had a fairly positive assessment during our fall meeting with the teacher, and the prior teacher was very workable, which made the suddenness of all of this all the more unacceptable. When we didnt take it laying down, we were able to at least finish the school year, but then went elsewhere the next year. I know our story is not unique at CMS. In short, if you have a child who has ADHD (or some other disability) and are thinking about CMS, you should think long and hard.
