I have just completed their 120-hr. TEFL course online and I will say that it was an excellent experience. I still feel a little unsure about teaching in a classroom but I think that through my practicum I am about to start, I will gain the experience that I need to build my confidence. The main reason I chose this program was because it required a practicum. I think that that is very important. If you want to become an English teacher abroad and you dont have a teaching degree, I think that this is the perfect course for your.

Connecting with the Job/Student Affairs office is A MUST!It is also very important that you are consistent and turn in ALL course work. Completing the course will be simpler that way. The cohesive stream of course content provided in each chapter coincides with the next. Even experienced teachers can learn something from the TEFL Academy.It was a great choice.

I really enjoyed their program. The instructor videos that were woven into the online readings were very engaging and offered so many great suggestions. The course was very balanced presenting technique/skills as well as help pose questions regarding culture as well as valuing the differences between countries. Looking forward to teaching internationally in the future!

This academy is worth the money. Youll find it to be quite intensive but interesting, but youll haven no choice but to close the world out and put your nose in the books. Just as fast as something feels easy, it gets tricky and rigorous. The good news is, the school is full of helpful instructors and team members. I cant wait to see where my knowledge takes me!

The quality of instruction and materials is well worth the nominal investment. Instructors are engaged and respond in a timely manner. You are only an email away from speaking with your instructor and once a week you have virtual office hours where you can actually see your instructor and know they are really out there. The instructors all have many years of experience living and teaching aboard as well as state-side so there is credibility. I was a little skeptical at first before I decided to take the plunge and I am glad I did.

An incredible TEFL course. Everyone involved is very attentive and everything is planned to make it as accessible to you as possible. There are live lectures at different times, and all of these are recorded and saved for you to watch at a later time if you cant attend the live sessions. Emails get answered on the same day, and feedback was always returned within 3 days!I felt supported every step of the way, and would recommend this course to anyone wanting to get their TEFL qualification.

I am so grateful I finally enrolled with International TEFL Academy to complete my TESL/TEFL certification. I spent a great deal of time shopping and comparing institutions and programs, unsure of which to choose. I made the right choice! I havent found a job yet, but it is in the works. I am a week away from finishing my course and I am so excited to find a position in South Korea or Japan. Attending ITA online has been a really great experience. From start to (almost) finish, the whole process has been easy to follow and understand. The actual course content is challenging but I wouldnt have expected anything less. My instructor was highly qualified and knowledgeable (they all have masters degrees and have taught English to foreign students). I have my bachelors degree, and this course was just as challenging and informative as any of my past college classes. I feel like I have learned so much in such a fairly short amount of time, and I look forward to using my new skills teaching ESL students in the near future!

I participated in ITAs online course and I have to say it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I learned a lot about teaching ESL and for those with no teaching background, like me, you will definitely gain a lot of valuable knowledge from experienced, dedicated instructors. My only con would be the cost, but I believe its typical for an 11-week online course such as this.

It was a pleasure to take my TELF class at this academy! The instructors are extremely competent with the materials and they do truly want to see their students succeed!

The price is pretty steep. That said, if you want an accredited academy with a blog that can help you easily decide that this is the best place to get your TEFL, this is the place to go. I looked up which TEFL academy is the best and ITA always ranked among the top three in almost every outside article. Having seen the name popup as much as I did, I knew this was the right choice for me. Read their blogs, join their webcasts, sign up for the in person or online course, and join the alumni groups. Trust me, the alumni groups are beyond useful.

Very very pleased with my experience with ITA. I was not referred by anyone, just from my own research and was thrilled that I picked correctly. I had been referred to a competitor of theirs and was going to possibly go with them, however, once the lock down happened, I realized that ITA had the better online program, and went with them. I would have preferred to do in person of course, but considering, they did a great job.I learned alot, enough that I can certainly go out and teach EFL and feel confident that I have a good enough base. I wont lie. The course is challenging, but very doable, and I will admit that I am older and have been out of school for 50 years!!!! And even I was able to accomplish this with their support. It was worth every penny.

Terrible customer service. I couldnt attend my first class due to my work schedule. International TEFL Academy does allow you to transfer classes for an additional $250, on top of the $1,400 the course costs. I paid both after I had to stop my first attempt also due to work. I asked to receive a waiver as paying an additional $250 (2nd time) seems unreasonable at this point. I didnt at all participate on the second attempt due to my work schedule. This would be a final attempt to get the certification. I was denied my request. From what I experienced on my first attempt, the course seems worth the money but if life happens and you cant continue the course - good luck because the people here dont care and are unwilling to help.

Untimely in answering questions regarding course tasks, inconsistent in grading, feedback very vague. Honestly, I felt like a one-man team, the only one who believed in my success. It was like night and day from the first assignment I received to this last one. Many of the questions on the quizzes seemed designed to throw you off.

Great experience, learned a lot, would do it again.

Im not a native English speaker but have been learning and teaching it quite a while in Asia. I wanted to study thoroughly all necessary information and knowledge of teaching English while Im in the States and become certified teacher. In the mean time, I didnt want to get a degree nor participate only online course that wouldnt give me full confidence. Im very satisfied with TEFL Academy course and very happy that Ive found them. I just finished their offline course which was very much engaging and full of knowledge, experience sharing, etc... The teacher was very professional and experienced who understood my weaknesses and strength as an English teacher. We had chances to plan the class on both days and practice,demo in front of the students. I recommend doing offline first then online because all the knowledge you learn offline will help you understand and excel on the online course which could be challenging without any pre-knowledge. You have to pass a test every unit on online course to be able to proceed to the next step and there will be 3 assignments to complete and marked to finally be certified for the online course. Its challenging.As a mother of three children, even if Im not teaching other students, I believe this course will help me teaching my children. It was great that I met nice peers in the course and had a lot of laughter and interesting conversations throughout the two days of the course. Highly recommend for moms who do not have teaching background as well.

Quick course that allows you to go at your own pace. Course material and textbook is extremely relevant to teaching experience. I had a great instructor and the class went well. Her feedback was very thorough. I think the course costs of $1,400 is appropriate to cover the costs of direct instruction, however students would be in a much better position if TEFL invested much more into the practicum. The teaching practicum is posed as a you can complete this in any environment type of situation. In my search for a practicum while living abroad I was faced with many questions about the nature of my request as many organizations didnt understand how a certificate could be given after 20 hours of observation/direct contact with a teacher. I think the practicum is the most important part of this experience and I wish TEFL Academy would invest in this with monetary resources and staff time. Overall, I would recommend TEFL with the condition of spending significant time securing a great practicum alongside the online instruction.

One of the best experiences in my life! So much fun and so rewarding. My partner and I did our course in Hanoi (highly recommended location). Fantastic instructor and great location of class and provided accommodation. Just note that the course gets super intense in the third half where you have no time for anything else but to get the assignments and practical teaching practices done ON TIME! So, have your expectations prepared and you will have a great rather than a crazily stressful time. Also, dont hesitate to communicate directly to your instructor if you are feeling overwhelmed. They will help you! A totally wonderful experience and I cannot recommend the quality of the teachings and qualification enough. I really feel that the course and experience has elevated my professional work to new heights! We both got a full time offer within a month of completing the course! I went to Hanoi, Vietnam in March 2019 and had the best experience with the International TEFL Academy course. The course content and design is made to create effective teachers no matter what situation is given. The instructor was extremely professional and effective to learn from. Between the classwork each week and the teaching practice in different classroom environments, I feel confident to pursue my teaching career, whether it be in a public/private classroom, online, at a learning center, or at an international school. I highly recommend the International TEFL Academy. I signed up for my TEFL course with International TEFL Academy after much research and a conversation with an admissions staff. The course met my expectations of quality. Everyone at the school was really helpful and the online course was challenging but helped me feel prepared to begin teaching English abroad. The school requires students to observe an ESL or EFL classroom and student teach or tutor. This is above and beyond the other online TEFL schools I found. This was one of the most valuable portions and I wouldnt have done it without their requirement to complete that portion for the certification.

I took the online course. Its convenient but anyone can ask for more from instructors and staff. Very helpful to enroll, attend, and job placement services are lifetime and do look at all avenues of work.Other advice...Please note: Asia and South America take teachers with 4 year degrees plus TEFL certificates. However, middle eastern countries and Europe have harder standards, so please research.Advice to Future Students:1 Tell them to revise Thematic Unit as to revise older course work and materials, so the work that is down guides you to Thematic unit. If not and you have never taught in your life, start the Thematic Unit right after the lesson plan unit, and send versions of those plans to the instructor for feedback as to have more polished lesson plans ready for final thematic unit.2 Ask, for different student levels based on what age group you plan to teach. For example, teaching adults in China pays less and in a lot of ways can be harder than teaching elementary students which pays more. So ask to develop lesson plans for your target audience.

Excellent support from day one of calling to inquire about the program through the sign up process and even when I changed from an in-person course to online learning. Lots of information was provided whenever I asked and the online course was ran efficiently but was very informative and helpful in my quest to be an ESL teacher/volunteer. You get what you pay for and though this program might be a bit more pricey I think the value is very good for what you receive. Highly recommend.

From the moment I even thought of doing the TESOL certification and found International TEFL Academy, I was so impressed by the wealth of information on their website. I took this course right after graduating with a Bachelors in English because I want to teach abroad. I decided that the online TEFL course was my best option since I worked, and I really enjoyed the flexibility. I will say, this course is what you make of it. This organisation includes match making as an integral part of deciding what country would suit a potential student of the International TEFL Academy. I emailed Danielle to request that my contact details be deleted from their list and advised her to why. Danielle replied advising me that they tried to keep it Light Hearted around here and that that approach wasnt for everyone. Evidently not.Id suggest the International TEFL Academy is more akin to a Back Packing type outfit than any self-respecting university - a comparison which is more hype than having any bearing on reality.

If you cant get to a physical location to complete a TEFL certification course, the International TEFL Academy is a great alternative. The material is relevant and clear and they provide a huge amount of resources which you can use long after the course has ended. If youre an English speaker looking to teach overseas this course will absolutely prepare you to do a good job.

I took my TEFL course last September/October and now I`m teaching English in Japan! I can`t stress enough how much the TEFL Academy helped me get here. The teachers were absolutely amazing! The program demands a lot of time and hard work, but it is totally worth it. I feel that the time and money I spent at the ITA was completely worth it (I mean it got me into Japan after all).

Online aspect of the program was very easy to navigate through. Online courses may be a bit harder so prepare to spend time researching and reading, as you cant ask questions as you normally would in a traditional class. Overall, I am happy with my experience. Instructors and advisors are very nice and not pushy at all.

This course is very extensive. They teach a wide range of material that is very helpful, especially for those who have never taken any sort of education class. The material is very interesting and engaging. The instructors and advisors are very helpful. I really felt that they wanted me to succeed.

When I signed up for the ITA class, I had nothing but a dream of teaching English abroad. After finishing the class, I now have the resources, knowledge, connections and experience to succeed wherever I want to go. I chose this class primarily because of the job resources and have received so much more than I could have hoped for, along with plenty of information on how to be an amazing ESL/EFL teacher.

It is a pretty easy program, you just need to make time to do the work. I did the online version and dont regret it. They offer a lot of help and assistance should you need it. Its great that they offer help with job search and even resume building.

Awesome from the start! My adviser was great! My teacher was great! The whole experience was amazing. Ive officially completed my course, as of last week, and I cant wait to start my teaching adventure! :-) Try ITA, you wont regret it. It is on the pricey side, but well worth it - you get what you pay for.

I dont know where to begin! International TEFL Academy is an incredible program and organization. I received my TEFL certification online through the 11-week course and loved every minute of it. From the first phone call with Ian (my admission advisor), I knew this was the next journey I wanted to take. What was suppose to be a 15-minute call turned into an hour-long conversation which has now become my new purpose in life! The level of dedication, passion, and commitment all the staff members have from the admission advisor to the instructor to the job search advisor (Shout out to Ian, Juliana, and Karee!), as well as the AMAZING ITA Alumni network, was and is incredible. Overall, I had a great experience. I took an online course. I was very comprehensive and I feel prepared for my next steps. For my learning style, I do wish I would have opted for an in-person course, but overall I am satisfied with my experience and schooling.
