I attended mass randomly and was super impressed. The music was good - organ and cantor; and the priest gave one of the most dynamic homilies Ive seen in Chicago. The sanctuary is different and neat too since it is a single story high within the school. Lots of neat architectural features. Seems like a real family atmosphere. The crowd is quite diverse like the neighborhood around it.
Mass offered 8am daily. Sunday Service/Mass times thruout morn. Tues eve meal served for people needing a meal (read Soup Kitchen here). Pantry on certain days for groceries/clothes. Staff is very kind and gives a warm welcome to its clients
I ATTENDED STOC FROM 1936 TO 1942, HAD WONDERFUL NUNS AS TEACHERS. I HAVE ONLY GOOD MEMORIES OF GOING TO SCHOOL THERE. THE TUITION WAS $2 A MONTH. I BROUGHT MY LUNCH FROM HOME AS DID EVERYONE ELSE. THERE WAS A WIMPY HAMBURGER PLACE NEARBY WITH FIVE CENT BURGERS. THE STREET WAS BLOCKED OFF AT NOON AND WE PLAYED IN THE STREET TILL A NUN RANG THE BELL CALLING US BACK TO CLASSROOMS. THEY PREPARED ME WELL FOR FURTHER EDUCATION AND I ENDED AS A COLLEGE PROFESSOR IN HAWAII, UNTIL I RETIRED IN 1995.
Love this church! The priest is amazing and the overall feel is very calming and peaceful! 🙏🏻❤️
They have been very helpful to me and Im very grateful.but I need to know when I can get some clothes and blankets if possible and maybe a coat but I need blankets bad I have no bed and Im on the floor sleep
I graduated from STOC in 1995. I feel that I got the best education available and would change it for anything. The teacher actually care for the students.
Great service to the public!
Thank Maria amen
