Worked here as social worker for 6 months. The students and parents always complained about school. Said they were promised things they didnt receive. Their is high turn around, lack of leadership. Principal M . Plaz is very inexperienced and a lier and assistant Ms. Wheatly is confrontational and dont know how to talk to adults or children. The casemanager is not trust worthy. They do not care about black and brown kids. School cant keep a social worker or counselor and parents and students are upset about it. The kids curse up and down halls, fights almost everyday, no activities for students or resources. Neighborhood not safe even with police station across the street.I wouldnt recommend anyone work here or send their children.

Great School, I am a freshman at the school, and the year has been nothing but fun! We get to do projects instead of tests, and everyone is really nice! Sure, the schools staff isnt the most organized, but overall, its a great place to be!

I hate this school with a passion. I am a sophomore student and I regret coming here. The teaching in this school is terrible. Do not let your kids come to this school.

Do not step foot in there. This school is really strict on book bags in lockers, and they have an unstable uniform policy. Business there isnt well kept, the people in the office tend to lose important papers too. So you better get a copy of them. Youve been warned.

It’s a horrible place for students and workers. The administration here is taking this school to the grave. Project based learning is failing these students. I am not sure why this teaching method is being instilled to these students. Students are being set to fail in higher education. The staff is over worked by the terrible administration who never seem to have things organized at the school. For example Instead of sending out graduation information the day before the event, it should be sent out months in advance. In order for this school to succeed CHicago tech board needs to step in to monitor how funds are spent and get rid of the administrative staff. Change is in need.

I dont honestly know what was worse in my 4 years of attending here, the Teaching staff and the way they generally act with students or the main staff handling most situations outside of the classroom. I know that I was not the greatest student, but I also know I wasnt the worst either, Im going to give two examples of how this place is truly horrible. I had two different math teachers, one who would try to engage me and get me back into doing my work because she could tell I wasnt paying attention, the second who told me on day one of his class If you want to spend all day on a computer and not do the work I give then grab one, bring some headphones and go ahead because Im not going to waste my time on you.Later on during my final year, I was failing a couple of classes and was doing make up work to get the proper credits, I along with about 20-30 other students were told to go to a room where a staff member would explain to us how the rest of our school year would go, about 5 minutes into it 3 or 4 students started to have a heated argument with the staff member who instead of handling the situation properly, began to scream back at them calling them different names and such to try and get them to quiet down, but instead causing about 5 more students to start yelling, I and a couple of friends left the room and went back to class to tell our teachers what had happened and no one did anything to honestly help. There are a million different instances of teachers and students fighting or hitting each other, poor security when handling Uniform and food brought into classes as well as in the halls to the point where there were roaches and rats going through lockers. Poor staff management causing students to spend an entire class in offices waiting to be responded too. Again the list goes on and on, it was the worst school experience I have had so far in my life and I dont think there ever will be worse. Look elsewhere, maybe even go farther away for your children, its far more worth it.
