We been coming here for years. Gwen Was like family to us. The staff is doing an exceptional job at cleaning and keeping us within appropriate boundaries in these strange times but there is one woman who works there who is quite the bully. Ellen is great and many others have such a great attitude which makes this weird time feel better. Just one woman there who is rude on the phone and in person. It isnt what you say, its how you say it. If we miss something I will happily follow rules but this one woman seems like she is looking to target people. Clearly hates her job. Bless her heart.

I love this facility, but they keep making the sessions shorter. Its hard to finish a good workout with the new time limit. Most of the staff is friendly. There is this one lady that ALWAYS stops me for no reason to give me a hard time. I register online, im in the system, but she always halts me and asks what im doing here and what my name is and stops me from scanning my I.d. I no longer pay attention to her, just ignore her. Everyone else is very sweet.

Staffs are rude especially the black guy in the front desk and the lifeguard. Swimming classes are taught by unprofessional people (look like students). They just taught randomly things. No specific lessons or schedule. I practiced the same thing again and again. Still couldn’t swim. They know how to swim, but don’t know how to teach. They said “I don’t know how to say” or “I don’t know how to explain” or “I’m not sure” plenty of time. Waste of time and money. The lifeguard looked like just want us - who are practicing swimming get out of the pool so he doesn’t need to do anything.I’m not YMCA membership that’s why I paid double for the swimming class. However, he doesn’t allow us to stay a bit longer to practice after 45 minutes class.I saw other people swim with the noodles or floats around the pool, but he didn’t allow me to go far with that since he had to watch me. What the heck! that’s his job, he got pay for that.If they don’t like serving non-membership people, why are they selling non-membership package and took the double money.

I have nothing but best experience with this place. Everybody there is very nice and the service is excellent. I am particularly grateful to Maggie - the Aquatic Director for making the swimming programs for kids such fun. And, of course, to the trainer - Manny. He is a miracle maker whe it comes to teaching kids! My boys love coming here to swim and we will definitely continue upcoming school year.I also highly recommend the after school program for kids.Thank you so much High Ridge YMCA team:)

The hours are way too short, at minimum they should close the gym at 11 pm and on weekends, it should AT LEAST be open till 8 pm. But no, they close at 10 pm and 5 pm, due to this hindrance, my family and I will be taking our business else where, until they fix the hours.

Great neighborhood place. People need to understand their prices are set to help out the programs they offer and the kids that require financial aid to be able to enjoy camps and learning new skills. Getting a membership here really does help the community.

Staff are so rude, the overweight Mexican women behavior was foul and utterly condescending. Absurd to think such people work here where children are present. This YMCA closes too early too, at 10 pm on week days and 5 pm on weekend when children are off of school and are in need of something to do once theyve completed their homework. The list goes on, however my biggest concern is the rude treatment from the overweight Mexican receptionist women and an few old black women receptionist. They really need to learn how to be kind to other and dismiss the rude behavior.

The black guy at the front desk is always rude and try’s is hardest to get you out of his sight. I called YMCA a couple of times to ask a question, he simply said he doesn’t know. Mate I asked you for the pool schedule for Friday, it’s latterly on the wall, yet he wouldn’t go and check. Also; I wanted to know my bill, he said I can’t give you that information over the phone, like are you serious, this is the first time this has occurred in 12 years. Please replace all the black workers, all of whom I’ve met thus are are rude, lazy and condescending.

Im really disappointed with the direction this y seems to be going in . My family have been members since 2008 and this place is our home away from home. My kids grew up here and I come to workout 6 days a week so were here a lot. Weve always felt welcomed but not anymore. At 4:40, 20 minutes before closing my kids have been told they may not use a basketball during open gym because they were closing in 20 minutes. (Closing at 5pm is ridiculous but thats another story). Then on a separate occasion my son did get a ball but with little air so he kindly asked for one with air. He was brushed off by a staff member and told no, just go play. Now the kids zone kids are no longer allowed to play in the gym when its free. Instead they sit in that tiny room and play on their electronics or the toys they have there. They enjoyed the free time in the gym to run around while their parents worked out. When I have had a concern I have been told it wasnt a priority or some condescending answer. The equipment breaks or goes missing and doesnt get replaced. Any suggestions fall on deaf ears. Ive heard numerous members complain about high enrollment classes getting cancelled. The staff is constantly leaving, the turnover rate seems high or you see the enthusiasm they started with diminish. Some of the staff is ice cold and condescending and I truly believe has to do with the new director.Sure I could go to the new Xsport that everyone seems to be leaving to or the Lakeview ymca with more equipment and bigger space but this y, like Ive said is our home away from home and a mile from my home. I hope our complaints no longer fall on deaf ears. I use to go and there would be a line for us to check in our kids at the kids zone or the fitness center would be packed. Not so anymore, that should tell you something. I am not going to name names but I will say I do appreciate the ones that still make us feel welcome and care about our little community y.

I cant believe what kind of people was taken care of the of our kids at the High Ridge ymca today February 20 at the night time,we have been part of this place for 5 years, we like everyone there.I want to clarify something before I leave my complain here.My kids are not angels but everyone at this place say they are wonderful kids, respectful and lovely kids, I think they are no perfect but in general they are a good kids.We were at the ymca for my kids swimming lessons and after that they asked me us usually ,mom can we to stay at the babysittingroom?i didnt see any problem and I left them for one hour, usually when I pick up my daughtershe act a little bit silly but friendly and very respectful with them, today she tried to do the same thing that she always do but what surprised that I hadwhen i saw my daughter try to touch one of those people and she said with a serious face,!no,no!with another words but something like dont touch me,terrible feeling for both of us.i took my daughter out while we were waiting for my son, obviously I tried to explain to my daughter why some people act like this but what surprised when my son came out and told me, mom this people were mad all the time they have complained about everything they didnt say anything to those kids that was playing with their iPhone or telephon but always they have something bad to say to those kidswho was playing with toys,HONESTLY i take my kids out because I dont want they stay playing with electronics, I bring them to the ymca to have fun, share their time with another kids and this is what happens TERRIBLE, IM REALLY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THIS SITUATION, I feel frustratedwith this situation, what is the point to bring our kids to a family place?.If you dont have enough patience DONT WORK IN A PLACE LIKE THIS SPECIFICALLY AT THE BABYSITTINGROOM, we have to respect you as at ymca staff but you MUST to respect as a member too,i was wondering how they will be with the summer campers? Poor kids, thanks I hope someone payou attention to this and do something for us.Please Im talking only about that people who works on Monday February 20th (night shift )but specialty of the lady who is the director of babysittingroom and summer camp. Please someone talk with this cold person.

I wish they would close at 11 PM instead of 10 PM... Some of the staff are condescending, not to mention, they could care less about you. I called to cancel my membership, the worker on the phone said well take care of it and cancel it. Needless to say, it was not canceled and I was charged for 5 months of membership which I didnt attend. Thats ridiculous.
