Love the YMCA. Almost all the fitness classes are covered by the membership fee, which costs a single person about 40 a month if you sign up under a friends membership #. Theyve been slowing rolling out services and facility access. The pool is so nice & they only allow 1 person per lane to keep everyone safe. Ivw been going 1x a week since August.Great place to exercise without pretense or pressure--everyone is trying to be healthy.

The pool is riddled with algae and bacteria. As an avid swimmer, I am concerned for all who swim in this pool. I believe it is run by a bunch of kids with no supervision. I asked the lifeguard if the pool was going to be cleaned and the correct chemicals applied and he told me that it would happen at the end of the week knowing that there would still be a full week of swimmers in the pool. Reckless behavior as this can cause serious harm to swimmers.

Weve been members at the Y since 2012 and my son has grown up with the wonderful people at this facility. We are always greeted by the friendly desk staff and it feels like family. The pool is a great resource and the family lockers to change in are top notch! We are blessed to have this so close to our home, and many thanks to all of the team at McCormick Tribune that have loved and supported us over the years ♥️

This is the best gym in the city! Its so much better than X-Sport, I could write a thesis on the difference. Its so cheap and you get so much! First of all, you have access to any Y in the city, including the ones with pools! The facilities are impeccable, always very clean and the machines all appear to be new. Classes are also included for free with the membership, which is great because a yoga class can cost $10 per person per class usually! I also love Lisa, my pilates instructor at the Y. Shes always upbeat, super nice and friendly and I really enjoy taking her classes. My boyfriend and his friends also do weight lifting there and seem to thing that equipment is also very good. Lots of employees around to help you out if you need something but never overcrowded. Sometimes I even get almost-private classes! Such a treat. Never going to any other gym again.

Me and my son were members a few years back but we still visit this YMCA just about every Saturday. My son grew up playing basketball there hes now 16 years old and works out in the fitness center. Facility is very clean with huge locker room and steam room. Tons of programs and very community conscious. Love it!!! Pool coming soon!

I have been a member of this gym for almost two years now. I must say, with the construction of a new pool, it seemed sensible that they would consider expanding the weight room as well. I would estimate maybe 50% of members utilize the weights in that area. However, after checking construction on that side just the other day, it seems that theyre just adding another dance studio for more classes! Mind you, the weight room is extremely crammed and hazardous, with members literally tripping over each others weights while trying to avoid bumping into others. I maintained my membership because it seemed like they were expanding the weight room. But no, now were going to have members trekking through a maze of weights and other members to get to their 7:00pm Zumba class. Its ridiculous!! I have been going to the Irving Park branch due to the amount of people working out in the weight room which takes me an additional 20m to drive to from where I live. Definitely looking for another gym this month. Oh, I also dont appreciate the members in the zumba class utilizing the handicap and pregnant parking, when clearly they are neither. There are pregnant and handicap members in the gym who need those spaces and I think its very inconsiderate when these members park there. You guys really need to consider towing the people who abuse this.

I have been a member at this location for 6 years. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and always helpful. The location is impeccably clean and the gym is filled with new equipment. This is a great amenity in the neighborhood and I encourage everybody to utilize it.

I like this gym, but their zumba classes keep getting cancelled by the same instructors and its not consistent. They also renovated and made the gym room bigger but theres still not enough room for free weights. I like how they moved the machines around so people who do weight machines can feel less segregated from free weight people. I do think the pool looks pretty and I still need to try it out. The gym also closes early Sundays and wish it stayed open longer.

Nice and clean facility. However, for such a big building the fitness center is tiny! Its missing several machines that a typical ymca usually has. I would not be able to complete my excersize routine here. ( Dont come here if its leg day lol )
