Dane taught my 9-year-old son for about a year, until we moved out of Chicago. Dane is an excellent teacher -- patient and observant. Hes very communicative and responsive to email as well. As a parent as well as a lifelong student of music, I have had interactions with many music teachers and Dane is definitely one of the best.

I searched and searched for the right drum instructor. I finally found a person that fit what I was looking for in Andrew Green @Chicago Percussion Lessons. Firstly, he listened to me to try to really understand what my background in drumming is already, what I was looking to improve on, and suggestions of different techniques and avenues of genres to focus on. Second, I am really impressed with the time Andrew has put into finding material for us to work on that fits what I need to improve. Andrew is also a top player himself, and knows much of the Chicago music scene. I highly recommend Chicago Percussion Lessons.

Dane was an absolutely amazing percussion teacher. Im an adult, and Id had a small amount of classical training on piano and violin and very not-classical training on Latin dance, and so he worked hard to figure out the best way for me to learn percussion. I saw improvement every session and, perhaps most importantly, I just had so much fun every time! Dane is a real artist and true musician, blending theory and passion and skill into one wonderful gift for us students. Id still be working with him if I hadnt moved away!

He puts a lot of time into understanding each students experience level and goals and develops structured plans around improving learned skills and teaching new ones. Our son has been studying with Dane for several years. He is a patient, creative, and skilled teacher. Im a self taught drummer whos been playing the drum set for over 20 years. I recently started taking lessons with Dane after feeling that I hadnt progressed in my playing for some time. Dane has been great at taking me out of my comfort zone while also expanding my existing skill set; and got me to start practicing to a metronome for the first time ever... not an easy feat. Hes also been great at accommodating my shifting schedule.

They tailored the lessons so effectively, first understanding my musical interests and aspirations then worked with me to achieve my goals.
