The negative 1-star reviews for this school are from people that know nothing about it. They are basing their score off of an old news story for which they have very little information. I have been a part of Lourdes my entire life, almost 40 years. It is an excellent school & parish with great families. It is more than just a place to learn and pray; it is a close-knit community with good people that care about each other.

Suspending children for having an imagination is pretty low down! Has all common sense fled the chain of administration in your school that this act would even make the slightest sense. I seriously hope it doesnt take a law suit from this childs parents for you to set yourself back on the common sense track. Unbelievable!

Go to another grade school like viictory or visi or jude. Lourdes is the worst hands down.

Seems the administration and faculty do not understand the essence of childhood and the role imagination plays in it. Suspending a child because of his imagination clearly shows the adults in this building will make irrational decisions without regard for the childs education. This happened during recess, the day before Halloween- Im sure he was feeling the holiday spirit. Principal and whomever was watching the students during this time and felt the need to take it to this extreme need to go because you clearly dont know how to make the right decisions.

I hate political correctness as much as the next guy. Schools are no longer allowed to tell their side due to privacy laws and our over-litigious society. Im grown up enough to know there are two-sides to every story.Lourdes has been a blessing for my entire family.

This school has major issues when it suspends a 6 year old child for using his imagination during recess! Where is the common sense in this? Deny a child three days of education because he has a healthy imagination during play time? This is shameful.

Our family sent three children through Lourdes - they all thrived and went on to do well in high school and college. Great, caring community!

Is there a way to give 0 stars for a school that is so out of touch with reality that they suspend a 6 year-old for playing Power Ranges and pretending that he was shooting with a bow? This is among the most ridiculous things I have ever heard of. Its bad enough when the teacher who sees it thinks they need to overreact like this, but to then get the backing of the administration? What about simply telling the child that its inappropriate (not that it is) and to stop? Id send my kids elsewhere where imagination and normal childs play is encouraged.

I sent three of my children to Our Lady of Lourdes School and they learned great study habits that helped them excel in both high school and college. Outstanding school.

Sad state of affairs in this country not just Cincinnati, politics has turned common sense into the bad thing to do, the majority suffer because of the minority. Good this he faked a bow and arrow, a finger pointing gun would have been a full expulsion. Got 2 three year old girls and we are looking for school, this kind of thing scares me.

We have been a part of this wonderful parish for over 25 years and couldnt have asked for a better community for our 3 children to grow up in. We found the school faculty and administration to be very caring and supportive and prepared my children very well for high school and college.

Looking at the negative reviews are laughable! A great school with great families. A high value on Catholic values, discipline and personal responsibility in both the students and parents!

My daughter attended OLL from 2005 thru 2014. OLL definitely prepared her for high school both academically and socially. She is thriving today as a junior at SUA. The staff and families at OLL are second to none!
